Never tried sushi Never hunted Never broke 100 (golfing) Never been skiing, snowboarding, etc. Never cheated on my wife (17 years) Never left early at a sporting event (including Brewers) Never won an NCAA pool Never argued with an idiot Never purchased any Apple product (not anti-Apple...just haven't for some reason) Naver had a Big Mac
  2. Is Brandon Jennings the future at PG? I realize stats don't tell the whole story, but his shooting percentage is about as awful as it gets. Especially if you take away the first couple weeks of the year. I refuse to believe much, or any, of that is due to teams playing him differently. He misses open jumpers, and seems to have lost any ability to finish when he takes it the rack. Now, I understand he's a rookie. I also understand his electric start of the season brought with it unrealistic expectations. But even with all that said, I wonder if he can be the long term solution at PG. He will always be abused on the defensive end. I can live with that if he could shoot half way decently. For a guy who has the ball as often as he does, he almost needs to be at least the #3 scorer. 1 for 11 happens way too often. By all accounts, the kid is willing to listen and work hard. That's encouraging, but so far I see T.J. Ford. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying he's a lost cause. Way too early to tell. Just posing the question, because everyone seems to believe Bogut/Jennings is the future, and I'm not so sure that's a lock.
  3. Just read the replies, and it's pretty obvious customer service is a unique experience for each of us. Pretty clear neither company is great or terrible overall in customer service. Heck, I've had TWC for (I think) 14 years and have never had service interuption, problems with my bills, etc. The few times I've had to call about something, they were prompt and polite. Both are very large large companies, and it's like spinning the roulette wheel when it comes to customer service. TW Sports channel trumps NFL Network for me solely because of all the Marquette games. I didn't even realize UV didn't have MLB Network, that wouldn't fly with me either. Also, UV may have 4 HD streams, but I've seen that in person at a friend's house and the picture quality definitely degrades when you do that. I know I pay a lot for my services, so I really want UV or anyone to offer a deal that fits my needs and saves me money.
  4. I wouldn't very good customer service from either. A lot goes into this, as every case is different. Depends how many TVs you have, how many of those you want in HD, how many you want to DVR from, etc. Then you get into comparing packages with the channels you want, speed of internet access, etc. I have had TWC for years, and really wanted to find a good reason to switch to Uverse. But when I added everything up, it was about the same cost, so why change my email address and go through all the hassle of installation. We have 7 TVs, and with TWC you don't need any boxes. (Well, I have one anyhow to get HD on the main TV) Plus, if I remember right, you had to buy a sports package or some other tier to get FSN.
  5. Who will lead in caught stealing?
  6. Save the ex boyfriend? Maybe I missed it, but aren't both dudes dead? Just watch, the ex will end up being undercover FBI or something...lol
  7. I agree, we have to accept the general flow of the season- you can't really top the threats in seasons past or have many new plot twists. But they could have had better actors and/or characters than they have this season. Jack's father, Jon Voght, a few oithers I could name. Just seems like this season is a B list at best.
  8. There's a reason there haven't been any postings in a month, it has been a very mediocre season at best. The whole stroy line between the CTU woman and her ex-boyfriend is a waste of time. Everyone I know who watches the show could care less waht happens to her as long as it ends. Beyond that, too much dialogue and too many cliche/ 24 formula plot lines (Of course the CTU boss has to always question Jack and not listen to his ideas.) I mean really...how long will it take for Kim to be kidnapped again? Maybe we're witnessing a shark jumping and we just don't know it yet. I'm too invested to turn away now, but I don't look forward to it nearly as much as I have in past seasons.
  9. I know what you're saying, but you have to take it for what it is. I think for the most part the talking heads make sure they add the discaimer that it's based on RIGHT NOW. As we're nearing the end of the season, I don't think it's wrong to start looking at who's in, who's not and watching it change as we head down the stretch. As long as the PLAYERS don't read too much into it, that's the important thing.
  10. I don't like Crean, but to be fair Buzz is still working with Crean's recruits. We'll see what happens the next couple year. Same is true for Crean, he needs a chance to bring in his own recruits and then we'll see what he can do there. (Not to mention the fact they're coming off probabation.) With that said, Buzz has done a great job this year. He's winning in the Big East with no size, and getting scoring out of guys like Acker and Cubillan.
  11. Must DVR: 24- Far from what it used to be, but I can't stop now. Modern Family Office Parks & Rec Watch off and on: Idol- Watch the auditions and then tune-out until it gets down to final 12 or so. But this year I'm not sure I'll watch much anymore. Celebrity Apprentice- Stupid show I'll end up watching when it starts new season for reasons passing understanding. Housewives of OC- Must watch with wife, but it's so stupid it has grown on me, sorry to say. Ax Men, Shouldn't Be Alive, Man vs Wild, Survivor Man Travel, History, Discovery, etc channels.... whatever grabs my attention American Pickers- Growing into a must-see, find it fascinating for some reason. Simpsons- Reruns and new episodes Don't watch anymore: This topic made me realize what I DON'T watch anymore. Shows I wouldn't miss in the past. Shouldn't Be Alive Man vs Wild Survivor Man Seinfeld Reruns- Will still watch, but very seldomly. American Chopper
  12. Well, as of right now Marquette is in according to the "experts." But they've got the formula down pretty tight, and they've been pretty close to dead-on the last couple years. Don't forget the Big East tourney either. If they lose a couple more games, they may need to make it to the semis in the Big East tourney. But I think they have to take 7 teams from the Big East, so Marquette does control their own destiny.
  13. Nice analogy. I'm forced to watch some of this red carpet stuff, and this group (including Joan) carve up people in great detail for how they look. While I don't think Tony K. should have been suspended for what he said, he also should have known better.
  14. Like it or not, skating attracts viewers. NBC may be stupid, but advertisers are not. They're not going to shell out money without knowing what events will be aired when their ads run. The advertisers drive what is shown in prime time. Even though most of us here would rather see hockey, the alpine events, etc., that's not a very representative sample. The problem with NBC is that they don't have any other decent channels to do a triple-cast sort of programming. If ABC had the covg, then ESPN, ESPN2, et.c could pick up the REAl sporting events.
  15. It's a depressing list. I wouldn't mind Duncan, but not at a long term max cap type of deal at his age. Not that he would come here either. Mel would be nice, but I have to believe Denver will keep him. Nobody else is worthy of a max cap type of deal. I guess you could argue it frees up enough cap room to sign 2 or 3 really good pieces, not a superstar. Unfortunately, I think this franchise needs a superstar. Looked like Jennings was that guy for about a month, but he's not. Bogut is perhaps the most under-rated player in the Association, but he's not a star either. So I see a team that has the players and future cap room to get better, but hard to see how they can become a legit contender without a Wade, Bryant, LeBron, Howard, etc. type of player.
  16. Jarmusz just gets too many minutes. Wilson needs to get more of those minutes, and that would be a step in the right direction.
  17. Does anyone know who the big FA will be in 2011-2012 season? I see it as a blessing in disguise that so many teams are clearing max contract space for the 2010-2011 season. There are only 4 maybe 5 guys worth that, and at last count there are now at least 8 slots available around the league? That means some of these teams will overpay for guys not worthy of max cap contracts, but either way these teams will be locked out of the market in 2011-2012. The problem, of course, is attracting a big name to Milwaukee if they can get the same contract in a more "appealing" city. Just seems like the entire plan is built on 2011-2012 when they lose Redd/Gadz contracts. If they can't put together a contending team then, don't you think the franchise may be on extremely thin ice?
  18. I could be wrong, but I thought most states (I don't know about IL) can not deny coverage to samll business (under 25 EE.) They can charge a ton, but not deny you for coverage. Your best chance is to get an HSA plan with a very large deductible ($5,000). And just expect that Dr. visits, Rx, etc. will be pais out of pocket. A tax deduction at least. But at the same time you're covered for major health expenses.
  19. They're trying to make it a resignation so they don't have to pay unemployment. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that if they eliminate your position and can't offer something similar, then they have to terminate you. It's probably a close call, so you should get an attorney. My first thought is that you should continue to do your job as best you can, but tell them you're not able to make that trip. They will then say "so, you're resigning?" And your response is "No, I'm not resigning, I jsut can't travel that much." That puts them in a position where they have to terminate you. This is just from some guy in BF, so I wouldn't try this approach without talking to an attorney.
  20. UW won't get a #3 seed either. Mich St always seems to get bumped up a seed, and UW gets bumped down a seed or two. I also wouldn't be surprised if NC and/or UCONN slip into the tourney.
  21. No, I've even been to one of their concerts. Some songs are more uptempo, but it still all sounds the same to me. Droning, boring music. I know lots of people feel differently, that's just my opinion. They strike me as a group you're supposed to like to be hip, call me un-hip I guess.
  22. I've read all the posts with great interest. Great debate from all points of view. After taking it all in, I just believe Prince is gone- it's jsut a matter of when the Brewers want to deal him. And my guess would be before the start of the 2011 season. If they wait until the end of the 2011 season. First, if they're in contention it would be a PR nightmare to trade him, so you may end up getting nothing for him. Secondly, the market is much better in the hot stove league. The only way I can see the Brewers being able to compete for a long term contract would be to trade Braun and free up that salary. It's an either/or- they can't afford both.
  23. Figure skating scoring is still a joke. I saw only bits and pieces lst night, but I think one of the favored pairs fell down, and still got a higher score than a pair of "nobodies" that led off the competition. It may or may not be better than in the past, but it's still patently unfair. Seemed like the moguls were judged fairly, even though that competition is based in part by subjective judging. Bravo to the U.S. nordic team. A sport I know almost nothing about, other than this was by far "our" best performance ever in the Olympics.
  24. I like the idea of a bypass from Hwy 45 somewhere between Hwy 60 and County Line Rd., running East/West over to !-43. But what's needed even more is a bypass North/South from I-94 up to Hwy 45. Ideally then, this bypass would start at I-43 near Hwy 60, go E/E to Hwy 45, then contunie N/S down to Waukesha area- maybe just West. I can dream. Try traveling from Waukesha or Oconomowoc to Grafton/Cedarburg sometime...
  25. This plan wreaks of the "Monorail" episode of the Simpsons. We should trust civil engineers? You mean like the civil engineers who were involved in the deep tunnel project? If a light rail system is so cost effective long term, wouldn't a private railroad want to build it? I don't understand why we would want to go backwards and invest in old technology. Commuter trains are a way of life in Chigago, the East Coast etc. where it makes perfect sense. Long term, the only logical next step is to automate cars and trucks. Think of it as REAL cruise control. You get on !-94 from Mke to Madison and your vehicle and the road system will do all the work. Hover cars? You're close. Magnets and/or computer chips can propel your vehicle and keep it exactly in the middle of the lane. Far fetched? Systems like this are already being tested, and in fact parts of it are already in use. Lane departure systems are already widely in use in commercial fleets. Ever been to Disney World? Those parade vehicles are all programmed to follow a certain precise path with microchips. Can you imagine the savings in gas if most interstate travel can be done with the engine off? All we're missing is the long term vision and plan to get it done. And there's only so much money to go around. Every dollar invested in dying rail takes money away from projects that will be much better in the future.
