  1. I always like this one. If you are talking about this specific situation then maybe this one.
  2. CF was seen before the year as one potential major position of weakness. No, it wasn't.
  3. My guess is that Holliday is a slow runner so even a single wouldn't score him in most cases. They were defending against the XBH. I think if that is a clean single Holliday gets held at 3B. They only needed one out.
  4. So LaRussa had them throw the pitch in to Braun to send a message. If he gets out of the way no problem. That is close to what LaRussa said.
  5. I give DPR credit for not doing a suicide bunt with Lucroy. However he gave all that back with the sac bunt later.
  6. At least there weren't any managerial mistakes (that cost them) in this one and it was lack of execution from the players. That's going to happen from time to time, especially with this dreadful defense. There were a few. I didn't think the lineup was right to start the game. I missed the middle innings but reading through it is possible Marcum should have been pulled earlier. At the end there it came down to who was gonna suck less with guys on base.
  7. He may be hot, but this is still YuniB we are talking about. Yup, still the Yuni B we all know and loathe.
  8. Let's be fair, a 3B with decent speed could have also gotten that as well as a speedy LFer if Braun didn't run like he was trying to swim he might have got there .If Braun had decent fielding instincts he would have been there. Braun, McGehee and Yuni, that whole left side of the field on defense is just ugly.
  9. Furcal absolutely makes that catch or has a shot at it. Betancourt was 4 steps from it, Furcal makes that up I agree Furcal does and did make that play just an inning earlier. It was a pretty good play though. Yuni is still playing with cement shoes.
  10. Furcal did catch that ball. Yuni is so slow.there were two plays that inning that a better shortstop makes. A better short doesn't need to dive for the ball up the middle, and a better short catches that ball.I am not sure most SS get to that second ball. I agree on the first one though. Yuni is still a guy who makes plays look spectacular instead of making spectacular plays.
  11. I disagree Bill. I don't care who drives in the run. I just want to stop them.
  12. Come on now. LaRussa would never stoop to doing something so unclassy as drinking beer. He would however have a couple glasses of wine.
  13. Nice to see Morgan didn't get called back for leaning into that one.
  14. I agree it was a ball and he had a beef, but he went OFF. I loved his reaction because I think it will hurt the team not having him during his suspension.
  15. DPR doing what he should have done in the first place.
  16. Unfortunately Kotsay(if you are not going to go to Kottaras) was the best option there. The fringes of this team are so crappy.
  17. He probably comes up for Dillard by the end of the week. Has a few really bad games for us and is gone by the end of next week.
  18. LaRussa is the old guy who yells at kids to get off his lawn. He is a crazy old jackass.
  19. I seem to remember another team complaining about the lights as well.
  20. Morgan in CF vs Wilson at 2B is what it comes down to. I don't think it is outrageous to think Morgan would have been the better choice.
  21. I know you're just being facetious, but there is no way this could happen or a pitcher would agree to it. What if he missed and the ball went into the stands and hit a kid or something? That would be a worse PR nightmare than if they did hit LaRussa. Just wait to throw at LaRussa until he comes out of the dugout. Problem solved.
  22. Pretty much the whole month of April. And he was on light duty his first month or so back.So Hawkins was available at full strength all of June yet DPR never bothered to put him in as the 8th inning guy despite Loe not being the right guy for that role. We made a move to protect DPR from himself. That is sad.
