  1. I really don't have a huge problem with removing both guys. Your reliever is going to come in and be better than a guy going through the order for a 3rd or 4th time. Neither are really ace level pitchers.
  2. So Hart in a major slump is still better than YunE-6.
  3. I guess they are almost exactly the same hitter, except Hart takes walks and hits for power. Nothing big though.
  4. I still say jump. It wasn't clear which way we were supposed to talk the OP into going off.
  5. DPR almost never subs out Kotsay on defense. Just wait till Kotsay blows the game for us again with a ball between his legs.
  6. Even if Betancourt plays well over the rest of this season there is no way he makes up for the pile of suck he has been so far.
  7. It never occurred to me to google it. I just thought it was a bf.net thing like woah solvved If you google it the first thing that comes up is an article that talks about Rob Deer. Baseball Prospectus unfortunately calls it TTO.
  8. I was going to do a let me Google that for you. Decided not to. You should have just asked what 3TO meant.
  9. I think this is what all major league baseball players do, they all try to hit HRs every at bat. I said they try to drive the ball, not hit a HR. Outside of a few guys like YunE-6, who swings at practically everything, I think most guys try to get a good pitch to drive.
  10. That's a good (and forgotten) point. If that is the case, I would really not like the K-Rod trade.
  11. Yeah that Moon Man stuff is really good. I think my wife went shopping today..... eh, who am I kidding. I know my wife well enough to know she bought Moon Man and D-Man. I am off to New Glarus tomorrow for the yearly pilgrimage. They usually have a brewery only beer.
  12. most teams 6 of 9 guys on the team have to hit for the context of the game I doubt that. I think that is just more baseball dogma. This my have been the case a long time ago but I think most players probably try to drive the ball as best they can in almost every PA.
  13. I think you can give the benefit of the doubt to most posters here not just judging things by results. I know I am not going to rush to the board every time DPR makes a move I agree or disagree with just so it is on record. In fact there are often times people post they hated a move even though it worked out.
  14. Yeah I just looked over at the website and on the blog portion Jamil said he really wasn't comfortable with serving his beer yet but he promised it would be there to drink. That was early July.
  15. Which one? The one where Gamel had bad results so he didn't do well or the one where because Gamel didn't have good results neither will a almost completely unrelated player.
  16. I was at that game and it didn't look like that ball ever got more than 20' off the ground at any point. Off the bat I thought it was a double in the gap.
  17. Thank goodness. Now we won't get him.
  18. Heretic is the brewery Jamil started up I believe.
  19. there were threads about geting him in the All Star game. One thread that I recall and at the time he was hitting better or almost as well as any catcher in the NL. But of course if Gomez plays CF and Morgan were in LF or RF against a RH pitcher people would complain that Gomez was playing. Different people might. It isn't like the same people complain no matter what DPR does. You are going to get a lot of different opinions on any message board. No matter how terrible Counsell is there is a segement that defends him yet Kotsay can do no right and shouldn't be on the team. I am not seeing a lot of defense of Counsell on here. Most of it is "I guess he might suck a bit less than Yuni and Wilson" or "he is the only left handed hitter amongst the pile of suck we have at SS."
  20. The Pirates remind me of the Brewers in 2009. We were in first place, or close to it, around the All-Star break. Despite our record, we were not realistic contenders. I think I said at the time we should be trading for prospects.
  21. It is miles better than Kotsay 3rd. That is the point. Put your guys in the best position to succeed. No replacement of Braun is a good option. Why just give up and put a worthless pile like Kotsay 3rd? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
  22. Braun has not fielding instincts. I see no reason to involve him in more plays than necessary. I am also not sure that making him move around on every single ground ball would be any easier on him than LF.
  23. Not that I'm happy about Kotsay in the 3 hole (not even close), but so long as Braun is out there's going to be one spot in 1 through 5 that is going to be depressing. Really no way to avoid it.Morgan, Weeks, Hart, Fielder, Lucroy Kottaras. Nope you are wrong. Completely avoidable.
