  1. Nobody thinks Gamel can replace Fielder's production. He can replace part of Fielder's production and the rest can be made up in other areas. Mainly SS and 3B. Fielder is one of the worst 1B in the league. Without knowing anything about Gamel we could safely assume he would be an improvement on defense. WE know a little more than that. Mainly that he is athletic, compared to Fielder, and most of his problems on defense are problems throwing. Moving him to 1B puts him where he will not have to throw much. That's what I would do. That would be the goal anyway. I don't think Saito and Hawkins will return.
  2. I agree. I am not a multiplayer fan, especially in role playing games.
  3. It would have been nice to see the pitchers split out from the position players in the pie graphs.
  4. Maybe next time wait to do that until after you know you won the game.
  5. It does look massive. I really like the Mass Effect series though.
  6. Mass Effect 3 and I will be looking into Skyrim. Role playing games are on the out it seems.
  7. Northern Brewer is offering Lakefront clones as part of the Pro Brewer series. I want to get my hands on their Fixed Gear and IBA clones. Looks like they also now have rye LME.
  8. Considering Fielder is one of the worst defenders at 1B in the majors and what we have seen of Gamel I think we can assume Gamel will be a better fielder. As long as we don't move Braun to 1B we will be ok.
  9. You forgot to factor in Fielder's crappy defense and how much it hurts the other infielders.
  10. Well that's different. I find the T-Plush antics mildly annoying.
  11. Against righties Morgan Weeks Braun Fielder Hart Green Hairston Lucroy Pitcher Against Lefties Weeks Hart Braun Fielder McGehee Gomez Betancourt Lucroy Pitcher
  12. how much Prince helps revenue I would address this point but it has been addressed several times in other threads over the last year and will be talked to death once the season ends. I have already posted once more than I should have in this topic.
  13. No. This is well traveled ground but I am not interested in keeping Fielder at more than $18m a year and no more than 5 years.
  14. Rosters expand September 1st. It would only be 7 games where they're carrying an extra pitcher. and the entire playoffs.
  15. Alright since we are going there I am going to pull out a really really old SNL line. "I think the woman I am going to marry hasn't been born yet."
  16. Made some dill pickles today. Canning tomatoes manana. First time doing either.
  17. I finally after 2 years made marinara sauce with homegrown tomatoes.
  18. Rickie Weeks Been Sheets Jerry Rice
  19. Betancourt or Counsell starting. Tough choice. Hairston should be in for one of them.
  20. I met my wife online before it was acceptable to do that sort of thing. That was about 9 years ago. Meeting people online definitely doesn't have the same stigma attached to it that it did then. There are also more reputable sites.
  21. We already have two lefty bat options in the minors Yup, in the minors...
  22. Gamel has a career 684 OPS in limited time and Green isn't even as far along as Gamel at this point? Gamel's problem when he did come up was lack of consistent playing time. He has not done well when given limited playing time. It also wouldn't come without cost. Career development and arby clocks are something. Unless there is a clear cut advantage why not let them develop at no cost? Green and Gamel's arby clock really shouldn't come into play unless the plan is to leave them down for most of next year. Given McGehee's play this year and the likely departure of Fielder next year I think there is a good chance both will be with the big club out of Spring Training next year. Why field an inferior team if we don't have to?
  23. In other words you don't know. I'm asking for actual evidence that there is someone more capable of this role. So far all I see is people comparing apples to oranges. WE know he isn't a good hitter in the absolute sense. I want to know if there is some quality that guys like Kotsay possess that is useful to that role. Is he better or worse than the average pinch hitter/backup? So far I haven't seen anyone show me he is or isn't the norm for his role. Hell I haven't seen anyone actually tell me what the norm is. I'm starting to believe nobody actually knows. If someone does please share.Since you care, read post #44 this thread. What I am saying is that if I thought Kotsay was the best option within our system I would have no problem with him. As it is we probably have 3 guys who have better talent it AAA right now who could be had for nothing. Of course we will never know with 100% certainty that any of those guys would be better but we don't know until we try. Kotsay has been a bad player and it just boggles the mind that there has been zero attempt to replace him.
