    Really, the Rockies guys? I saw part of a spring training game with those guys and I really, really didn't like them.

    Not a Packers fan at all so there is nothing to think about. Brewers and hope the Packers lose.

    Hall makes an error(as did JJ) and we go down by 5 runs. Riske comes in to throw BP to a team of AAA players( I know not all of them, but many). Kapler ruins a perfect game(by that time I had given up on the Brewers winning). That was the worst game I have been to in a while. The only thing exciting was the possibility of a perfect game and Kapler ruined that. Heck, my son wanted to leave early and he hasn't complained about watching a full game in 3 years. The only small thing to take away from it is Gamel's first career hit(which might be cool if he makes the Hall of Fame or has 3000 hits in his career, but I doubt it). Oh well, turn the page and look forward to tomorrow. Oh yeah, and it was pretty cool to see all our prospects get some at bats. Just wish Gamel would have gotten the start over Hall.

    We can't just ignore that there were few options available. That's like saying we have to sign CC and Sheets and ignore the fact that we have limited money.

    Almost a week later and Schroeder still is on Bob Webb. One track mind.

    I don't think Torres is very good either. His K and BB rates bother me.

    I disagree with that. Hall has been better lately, but he started out the year playing really poor defense. His arm is strong, but not very accurate. He makes some spectacular plays and has improved on the routine ones. Overall I would say he is average at best.

    They have stated that their drafting policy is to draft speed and power(power hitters, power arms). Things that can't be taught. I think it is pretty apparent by looking at players like, well, pretty much our whole team. High SLG, bad OBP, lots of team speed, not polished all around players. Lots of toolsy guys.

    I think he should have left CC out there, but I think most of the other times there was an extra day off between CC's starts and there isn't a day off for a while now. That may be the difference this time.

    I agree that the pecking order should be Torres, Shouse(vs lefties only,)Villy, Mota/Gagne but to be honest I really don't feel to comfortable with any of those guys.

    I like the strategy of trying to draft and develop starters then shift them to the pen when starting doesn't work out. It isn't like the Brewers have been great at developing starting pitching either. As an organization, the Brewers are just bad developing pitchers in general. I think our pen last year was better than this year's pen, but our starters have been going deeper into games so only our top guys are getting many innings. The fact that the stats from last year are similar to the stats from this year tells me that our top guys in the pen this year are still pretty weak. We don't have many innings by back end of the pen guys to drag us down like we did last year.

    Probably marketing. Most people probably don't know about other Italian places especially if they are not from around the area. Location would be my 2nd guess.

    The only thing that pops into my mind when reading posts that lack any capitalization and have AOL speak is "it's big boy time."

    I can't get enough baseball either, but the post season goes on for so long that weather starts to become an issue. Other than that, I would like to see all 7-game series in the playoffs. If every team was sensible and put a roof on their new stadiums, then I have no problem with a longer postseason. I just don't think baseball should be played in the snow.

    The price of food at the ballpark is probably in line with food prices at other events(concerts, fairs, etc.) but is still outrageous. Like somebody else mentioned, the food is bland and the quality is just a bit above cafeteria food. I bring a backpack to every game and it never takes more than 5 seconds to check the bag. All you have to do is have it unzipped when you walk up and you barely pause for them to check it. It takes longer to unzip the bag than it takes them to check it.

    So even though Hall has been playing like crap all year and continues to play like crap he isn't the real problem? The other player who has played better all year except the last few weeks is? I would pull the player who has been bad all year way before the player who has had a few bad weeks.

    The brats at the stadium are pretty bad. I much prefer to make my own brats boiled in beer and grilled. If I can't bring in food, the McDonalds off the interstate is going to get more business from me. The only thing I would buy at the ballpark is beer or ice cream. There is no way I would buy any of those things they refer to as brats.

    I am much more worried about Philly and our 4 game series with them next week. Of course a split in that series would take our magic number down by 4.

    My main concern with giving Gamel a chance at 3B was using up service time. Well, he is just sitting there, I figure we might as well use him. Unless he is a complete butcher in the field, I don't think he could be any worse than Hall or Counsel.
