  1. Victorino 282/345/427/772 Cameron 246/335/505/840 I think I will stick with Cameron. Add that we are not likely to get a player better than Cameron and I don't think there is much to discuss.
  2. For September BA/OBP/SLG/OPS Weeks 303/439/455/894 Hardy 220/264/520/784 Braun 222/314/334/647 Fielder 231/348/359/707 Hart 186/239/256/495 Cameron 114/184/171/356 Hall 167/219/233/452 Kendall 211/318/368/687 I am sure that doesn't include today, but lets face it, they didn't hit today either. There is almost no way they can keep hitting this poorly or maybe they can and we will save lots of money in arbitration.
  3. The worst part is this helps our playoff chances.
  4. Are you trying to say that it is better to miss the playoffs and let people think that we would have been good rather than make the playoffs and get swept out to remove all doubt?
  5. Don't forget Tampa Bay. They have so few fans at games you probably can't even hear them if they booo.
  6. I was referring to the 2nd half because people are calling it a 2nd half collapse. I guess people would be happier if we had gone 15-12 in August and been chasing and hot now instead of ahead.
  7. I could see that being detrimental to getting a job managing where the GM would want you to do things his way. I also would see that as being a huge negative to managing in AAA where the main focus isn't winning. Kremblas would have been popular with the fans though since he liked to rip into his players trough the media.

  11. English isn't English.
  12. Have to admit that the game looks bad, but Yost is doing everything he can to win. I thought he might have McClung hit to get a few innings out of him.
  13. I think they should have moved him to the pen for a month when we picked up CC. Of course that might not have worked out either. We are where we are right now partially because Parra helped us get here. Maybe he is cashed for the season, but then we would have to turn to a committee of pitchers to take over his spot since nobody is stretched out and there is no way to stretch them out.
  14. I still fail to see how a team playing 9+ games over .500 could be considered a collapse. You can't control what other teams do and playing 9+ over .500 for a half is pretty good. If we end up with 90+ wins an don't make the the playoffs I will be very disappointed, but it means that another team outplayed us.
  15. That's because a few fans acting like idiots make all of us look bad.
  16. Ken Rosenthal wrote the article that the lead post is referring to so that isn't to surprising. I have to agree that Yost keeps his job if we make 90+ wins. You can't control how well other teams do and 90+ wins will get you into the playoffs more often than not.
  17. I watch Psych Eureka Burn Notice The Office(but I like the British version better) My Name is Earl(should have been off the air after the first year) Battlestar Gallactica(wish I had started in on that show this fall instead of last fall) Bleach Into the Unknown with Josh Bernstein I just got done watching the Extras special and was wondering if it was better for a TV show to only be on for a couple years and go away before it becomes stale or go on indefinitely. Maybe I just like the stuff Ricky Gervais does but, I do like how he always moves on after a couple years.
  18. The Cubs are our best ally right now. Is this one of those the enemy of my enemy is my friend things? I guess this playoff race is going to make for strange bedfellows before then end. Russ was right to cheer for the Cubs a few months ago, but I still don't have to like it. It sucks that at this point I might be disappointed with 90+ wins. I only expected us to win around 86 games, and that was before Gallardo went down. After getting some distance from the season I am sure I will look back and be pretty happy with the season.
  19. Good question, but that is sort of off topic to discuss in this thread.
  20. They have had a hard time signing players because the cash wasn't there until recently. They have only begun signing high priced players. Corey chose not to sign a contract here last year. We probably are never going to be able to outbid anybody despite our increased payroll. We have to hope we can offer comparable money and make Milwaukee desirable to play in. Hart more than likely chose not to sign a contract because he was so close to arbitration. Souring him on signing a long term contract is the last thing we need right now.
  21. I would like to see him move Cameron up to 5th. Lineup doesn't really matter over the course of an entire season. I have no problem with Ned moving the 5th-8th guys around based on the hot hand.
  22. Don't forget the mead.
  23. I was very proud of my son at the game Sunday. I turned to him and said, "we don't boo our own players." He said," I know that." I have done all I can to curb the booing. I have taught my kids not to do it.
  24. Not really sure where you are getting the idea that we are in a 2nd half collapse. We are 30-21 since the all-star break and have widened our wild card lead from 1/2 game to 3 games. Ned Yost makes many mistakes, but I have a hard time blaming him for our players not being able to hit for 2 weeks. Much like it wasn't his fault when the whole team didn't hit much for the first 2 months or Skalen's for that matter.
