  1. Maybe in terms of actual hits, but Hardy walks more and puts the ball in play for more of his outs while Hall strikes out way more. I think that Hardy is much better at making contact with the ball than Hall is.
  2. That Branyan guy has done nothing to earn his spot. Not hitting, poor defense. No HR. No BB.
  3. The only thing Hall has done better than Hardy this year, including defense, is SLG. Hall's OBP is below .300. The only starter on our team with a worse OBP is Cameron and that's only by 7 points.
  4. If you really take the small sample stuff to heart, most statistics posted during a game really tell you nothing of importance especially the way they are presented. The head to head matchup stuff in particular. It gets presented like we should expect a guy who is 8 for 10 against a pitcher to have a big day while a guy who is 1 for 15 to have a bad day despite the first guy having a .280 career OBP and the 2nd guy having a career .380 OBP.
  5. Pretty sure there is a site that already does this. I don't have time to look right now though.
  6. The difference between the Cubs and Brewers is that the Cubs can go out and lock up players for multiple years where we have to overpay players of lesser quality to get them for only a year at a time. The Gagne signing does look bad right now, but it is only a one year deal.
  7. Oh, well. Must have been MLE's I saw posted a couple weeks back.
  8. Escobar isn't exactly tearing up AA right now. Unless I am mistaken his AA stats are pretty close to Hardy's MLB stats.
  9. I have never been a big Hall fan but he seemed like a nice guy so I tried not to get on him to much. He has proven all my fears about him to be true so far this year. I said before the year that we were going from historically bad defense at 3B to below average defense. I was hoping I would be wrong. The bolded part is my main issue with Hall. He doesn't seem to understand and accept his limitations. He tries to make throws on defense he has no chance to make. He tries to steal bases despite the fact that he is just terrible at it. He is just good enough to get himself in trouble. It isn't like he has been the perfect team guy this whole time. Yes he did move, but he also complained when he got moved to 3B because of the Cameron signing.
  10. I haven't been keeping track of the standing at all this year yet. I only know the Cubs are doing well because it keeps getting brought up on BF.net all the time. After last year I decided to only worry about the Brewers and hope they keep winning.
  11. Hardy, I never thought Hall was a good defender at SS(or 2B for that matter). I always thought he was good at making enough spectacular plays to cover up the fact that he missed easy plays and threw the ball away trying to make spectacular plays instead of holding it.
  12. I can see how Hall would want to be traded, but I don't remember when letting anybody outside the organization know about it has ever helped get a trade done. I think Hall would be very attractive to a team in need of help at SS. I don't think he is a good defender at that position, but he can play there and his hitting would not be as painful to watch coming from a SS. You might be able to live with a 25+HR, .300 OBP guy at SS.
  13. I just hope they keep Cameron around next year to let Braun gain a little more experience before trying to make him change postions again next year. Edt: If I had to chose between Hart and Braun right now I would say Hart because of his experience. I would prefer neither in CF unless Baun or Hart becomes well above average in a corner OF position. I think both have the athletic ability to play CF.
  14. It wasn't directly his choice, but he did force the hand of management by stating that he wanted a 3 year contract or he was going to arbitration.
  15. I forgot to take out the AL guys. He is still only at 29 for OBP. I refuse to use counting stats without the rate stats, otherwise we could say Hall deserves to go because he is in the top 5 in HR for 3B.
  16. I might cheer for Davis, but more than likely, if I was at the game, I would be indifferent. He is just another pitcher I hope we beat.
  17. Sounds like you spent a lot of time trying to spell out exactly what you wanted this person to do and they still didn't comply. Almost sounds like they intentionally didn't comply.
  18. Sorry, but I just can't justify voting for a player who is only in the top 10 in one of the 4 rate stats(BA/OBP/SLG/OPS) and on top of that isn't a great defensive outfielder.
  19. Probably partly to do with the fact that pitchers are not afraid of throwing strikes since he has so little power.
  20. I don't think anybody does, but 90+ seems realistic enough and I doubt we get that much.
  21. Not really. I would rather see the Cubs go in the tank without an easy excuse.
  22. That's what I figured. From my experiences here, people are given the opportunity to become quality posters.
  23. Only if it continues, which I hope it does. The best way to catch them is to beat them head to head.
  24. Sounds like a guy who knows the strike zone and refuses to bend to the umpire's strike zone. Dunn sounds like a good comparison.
  25. Do you guys PM posters if they frequently do things that are not necessarily strike worthy, but are close?
