  1. I would think that Yost told Sheets the situation before the start of the inning.
  2. Lineups for the year. It doesn't look like he has given as many days off this year. The only players with regular days off look to be Hardy, Kendall, and Hall(only because of the platoon).
  3. Guys have to get days off throughout the season. I wonder if it is better to have your lineup at full strength for as many days as possible and run out all your backups on one day, or is it better to give one guy a day off at a time and have a less than best lineup spread over more days. In other words one big hit or a bunch of small hits.
  4. Most pre-season predictions have Hart posting better numbers (including a higher OBP) than Cameron, no? They also have Hart with better power numbers, which is more important in the 5 hole than the 2 hole
  5. Yep, wins are important to the Cy Young. That's why I think it is such a joke of an award. Really, when it comes down to it, which post season awards aren't?
  6. I still think at this point of the season we are better off trying to make a lineup bases mostly on preseason projections. Especially with Cameron since he only has one month's worth of at bats.
  7. The main thing that a college degree will give you is the ability to move and change jobs without having to take a huge hit in pay.
  8. I would think that Hart has more power than Cameron and both can steal bases.
  9. "I can't tell the difference, if it's open or closed," Branyan said. "I guess they just opened it, right? The home runs might travel a little bit better; I'm not sure." When you hit monster blasts like Branyan, they go out no matter what. It is just a matter of whether it is in the third deck or the second.
  10. If they had been playing at Washington they would have had the shot. That place was taking pictures of things in orbit.
  11. It's a conspiracy by FSN to further the legend that is Russell Branyan.
  12. That was an easy save. As easy as they come anyway.
  13. I am referring more to the fact that neither walks much and relies on BA to drive their OBP. We still don't know what kind of hitter Braun will be either. As far as we know he will hit around .270 for his career. I doubt it, but he has had one good year.
  14. What makes you think his K/BB ratio will get better? That's a terrible comparison. Braun's career SLG is .157 higher than Francouer. This year, his SLG is .171 higher. The difference is so big they aren't even comparable. Everything else is pretty similar. I stand by my comparison. Jeff Francouer with more power.
  15. I bet he would use a keyboard that would put up W's without any typing.
  16. I would say it is more to do with our position players under performing than any other one thing. However, we haven't pitched well either so I would say some from column A, some from column B. Oh yeah, and that little thing about our 2nd best pitcher going down for the year.
  17. A HR is not in play unless it is an in the park HR.
  18. I would be very happy with a .360 OBP out of Braun every year. I just don't think at this point he is going to do that without hitting closer to .320+ and I don' think he is going to hit .300+ every year.
  19. Well, I am doubtful he can hit .300 and 40 HR every year. Right now I think he is Jeff Francouer without the OF experience and a little more power.
  20. I understand how BABAIP is figured and how it works. I have no idea what you are trying to get at. I think you are trying to use BABIP for something it was never meant to be used for.
  21. I think he is a solid player who needs to be more selective at the plate to be a great player. Of course, he gets so many of his hits on bad pitches, he might hurt himself by not swinging at them.
  22. It is a measure of what a defense did behind the pitcher. A defense, except on rare occasions, can not do anything about HR.
