  1. Moving from 7 to 2 in the order would give him 3 more HR going off of last years stats.
  2. The third hitter in a lineup comes up with the bases empty almost as often as the #1 hitter. The #3 hitter comes up with 2 outs more often than either the #4 or #5 hitters.
  3. These "professionals" also use their best reliever in the lowest leverage situations so that arguement doesn't hold much water.
  4. Could say the same for Hall. Batting a pitcher 8th instead of 9th makes very little difference. In fact unless you are doing something really crazy like batting a pitcher leadoff and your best hitter 7-9 I doubt you would see much difference in wins at the end of the year.
  5. So Ben Hendrickson pretty much?
  6. So Ben Hendrickson pretty much?
  7. So Ben Hendrickson pretty much?
  8. I see no reason to trade Gross and many reasons to keep him. Gwynn on the other hand I think ends up as the odd man out depending on how Kapler performs. I wouldn't do anything at least for the first month of the season. They all have a spot as of right now.(Kapler, Gwynn, Gross)
  9. I am not sure Hall will ever hit 30+ HR again in his career. He has only gone over 20 once. His next best year was 17.
  10. We are not even sure how good a player he is going to be. I think he will be pretty good, but I think it would be better to wait a year or two. Actually I would wait until his 1st or 2nd year of arbitration. Depends on if he is a super 2 or not.
  11. Last year when I ordered over the phone there was a per ticket fee plus a per order fee. Also, when I tried to order tickets the first day they couldn't give a certain section(212, 213, ect) or row. You could only pick what kind of tickets you wanted, Loge Diamond box, Loge Outfield box, ect. I think they farm out their phone orders for the first few days.
  12. I can't believe you don't plant kohlrabi. Good stuff. Peel and eat raw.
  13. He can pick 8 teams annualy that we can't trade him to. Why would we want to trade him though if he is pitching well? We are going to be losing some pitchers by then or shortly after.
  14. Looks like buck teeth with a 50's hairstyle.
  15. The only thing I will recomend is that if you do decide to get a tattoo, make sure it will not be seen if you wear shorts and a T-shirt. That way if you end up hating it later in life, it will be easy to cover up. Also easy to cover no matter your profession. Except maybe life guard. Of course if you are going to wear a speedo in public a tattoo would be the least of your worries.
  16. 4 is faster, 2 has more movement. A 2 seam will run in on a hitter. http://www.thecompletepitcher.com/pitching_grips.htm
  17. Pretty sure Crewin06 is right. We have to offer arbitration in order to get compensation picks. That's how we ended up with Graffy back last year(I would say got stuck with Graffy, but I wouldn't call having him a negative). Just my 2 cents, but I think that a guy over 40 with prison time looming would be a bad investment. He also is a part time player(can still DH) with a recent history of injuries.
  18. The funny thing is when we had a thread about who we want in the starting rotation I might have been the only one to leave Suppan off my list of "want" in the starting rotation.
  19. A month doesn't make a season. So Mike Maddux says. Listen to the interview. http://www.wtlx.com/content/podcasts
  20. Villanueva might have to pitch in AAA. To much MLB talent to fit on our MLB roster. Having to keep guys who can play in MLB on our AAA roster an extra year or two so their FA clocks don't start. These are the kinds of problems we have been dreaming about for years.
  21. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think we need a 5th starter by April 6th. Unless we plan on throwing a guy on short rest, we have 5 straight games between April 2nd and 6th.
  22. You really think they would start Vargas? I would think they keep Villy up until Gallardo is back.
  23. I haven't seen anybody putting Vargas in a rotation anywhere. More than likley Villanueva at least until Gallardo is back. Bush and Capuano probably pass Villy based on their prior consistency.
  24. I would have said that JB prefers to worry about this season and this season only without looking to the future.
