  1. I am sticking with Dread Pirate Roenicke.
  2. He can't be sent down without passing through waivers.
  3. no, he's still learning short Doesn't matter. Yuni never learned to play SS and he can play 1B, oh wait...
  4. I think we are back to the manager now. Melvin gave him a clear option other than Yuni at 1B and guess who starts at 1B.
  5. Braun Gallardo and Segura. I would probably switch teams if they traded Segura without getting a very good return.
  6. I don't know if we ever had a chance at Overbay. The Yankees snapped him up pretty quick when Boston dumped him. Regardless, we have 2 guys in AAA who we wouldn't have to sign. All we would have to do is make a 40-man roster spot. Not easy but not impossible.
  7. but still before Gamel got hurt. I can see how Overbay would not be interested. After Hart returned he would be the backup to the backup.
  8. Did we even want to sign him at that point? I think he signed before Gamel got hurt.
  9. I don't think the team even had a chance at Overbay. I believe he had to pass through waivers and was claimed by the Yankees.
  10. You are right they absolutely did. I am still holding out hope Yuni is gone when Green and Hart come back.
  11. I don't think service time should be a consideration. He is 24 so by the time he would have 6 years in he would be 30. Plus this year would probably only be a partial year. They would have had to add him to the 40-man roster a bit early and to be honest I am not really sold on him as a hitter. I think he has only had one good year in the minors. However, we know what we have in Yuni. I would take young upside talent in the same position as Morris over Yuni every single time. Some would still be in a near panic. My frustration is almost 100% with Yuni starting at 1B. There is just no call for that.
  12. Yuni has actually declined as a hitter since we last had him. He is decidedly below average even for a SS now.
  13. Yuni wasn't related to 1B when we signed him. I think maybe that is the disconnect here. Yuni was a depth move after the 4th injury kind of pushed the issue. They did not choose Yuni over Hunter Morris because they thought he was a better player. Of course he was related to 1B when they signed him. The disconnect is with the management. Morris should have been on the roster as depth with Gonzalez moving over in an emergency. Either that or an actual 1B. That is a huge oversight on their part. They should never have signed a backup middle infielder in the first place let alone Yuni. If they did not think Yuni was a better player why is he still on the team? Why was he signed in the first place? I have given a good example of how they didn't need him. Get a 1B. Gonzalez still starts at 1B and can slide over if there is an injury. Melvin put our manager in this terrible position. Of course our manager still thought it was a good idea to get Yuni out at 1B even before Ramirez went down.
  14. If MLB dropped it's blackout rules I would drop our cable the next day. I have zero reason to keep cable outside of baseball.
  15. The problem is their plan was to go with signing a crappy backup middle infielder instead of using a guy who is already in our system. I am talking about Yuni and Morris. Is Morris a good plan? No, but he is miles better than Yuni.
  16. It became a problem when they decided to sign Yuni because they thought they needed a backup middle infielder.
  17. Very easy to blame Melvin for not having any 1B on the roster.
  18. Nope, but it sure isn't helping.
  19. Wouldn't it be cool to see a whole lineup filled with 1 catcher then all SS and CF. Maybe Weeks should sit for a day just so we can do that.
  20. Thank you for laying down your money just do I could see the uniforms. I am really sad to say it but I am sick to my stomach over this first week of the season. Yuni getting innings in the field let alone at 1B in back to back games just killed any enthusiasm I have for going out of my way to watch the game. I am sitting at the computer desk with the TV on but would rather watch whatever TV show is on instead of turning on the Brewers game. I love the Brewers but Yuni at 1B is wrong for an inning let alone back to back starts.
  21. Wish I could see the jerseys you are talking about but I am boycotting watching or going to Brewers games until Yuni is no longer a starter.
  22. Weeks has been pretty good.
  23. You just can't make up crap like this. This is seriously the lineup I would have expected to be posted on April 1st.
  24. I really don't have a problem with Davis not being at 1B. Some people just shouldn't play on the infield. We know this from watching Braun. So let me get this straight, we gave up our first round pick to minimally improve the team but planned out everything else so poorly we are now stuck with Yuni at 1B. Melvin is the clear leader for whipping boy. Of course DPR has to shoulder some of the blame. Maldonado is an option to play 1B. Not a good option but miles better than Yuni. I typically agree with all your posts, but Maldanado being miles better than Yuni as a 1B? Can't get on board with that, they're both terrible options. Neither one can hit, nor are good defensively at the position. I feel at least with Madonado there is the hope of some upside on the hitting. I don't see how he could possibly be worse on defense.
