  1. the money is fine I guess, but I would be pretty angry if I were a Rockies fan that they gave up the 11th pick in the draft for him.
  2. Nelson for Jeffress? Seriously?? That would be a disaster of a trade.
  3. Dubron slots in at #9 for MLB.com's top 30 Brewers prospects, between Diaz and Lara. Pretty impressive. Pennington does not make the cut.
  4. Saw someone on twitter say that this return is greater than what the Reds got for Chapman last winter
  5. Oh good, another PTBNL to debate about! I am guessing since it's a PTBNL or cash it won't amount to much of anything, but let the speculating begin!
  6. Are the naysayers of this trade forgetting how volatile relievers can be? For as good as Thornburg was last year, there's a decent chance he falls back to earth next year. The more I read about this, the more I like the trade. Dubon seems like a great get and Pennington is basically Thornburg-lite.
  7. I like this deal a lot better with Dubon also coming back. Shaw, Arcia, Villar, Thames infield with Perez as super sub will be interesting if nothing else. As if there was any doubt, this pretty much confirms that Scooter is a goner.
  8. If it's Pennington and Shaw, that is horribly underwhelming
  9. Apparently the Dodgers are checking in on McCutcheon too. Not good.
  10. Yeah, I'd love to take a chance on him, but some other team will pay him more than the Brewers should risk.
  11. Only good part about this is that it's cheaper than most would have expected. I'm hoping we can get a 20-yr old with a moderate ceiling or two and call it a day. He just doesn't seem to have a place on this team.
  12. I'm in favor of us picking Miguel Diaz in the draft. He shouldn't have been left unprotected imo.
  13. The all-star game determining home field advantage for the WS was a bigger joke than the game itself. It's fantastic that they finally did away with that farce.
  14. I'm hoping the fact that the Pirates are actually shopping McCutcheon doesn't end up hurting Braun's trade value. He's younger, cheaper in dollars and years and teams may gamble that last year was a fluke rather than paying up for Braun.
  15. That's the paragraph that got me too. I want!
  16. From Jim Bowden today so take it with a grain of salt, but I would love to get Bellinger.
  17. What is the success rate like for players coming over from Korea? I'm still kind of skeptical about this, but maybe he learned something over there and his success will translate.
  18. Congrats Briggs! I'm really curious to see the financials on this and the explanation of why we needed to go 3 years. I know the upper minors are pretty barren at 1B, but this seems excessive.
  19. Kind of surprising, but maybe they figure they can find a cheaper option who will provide more balance offensively and defensively?
  20. Really hope we don't regret keeping guys like Neuwenheiss and Goforth on the 40 and leaving Miguel Diaz and WCW unprotected.
  21. No brainer move, glad they're getting it taken care of right away.
  22. I am apoplectic. Went to bed when they brought Will Smith in and hoped for the best, not a pleasant way to wake up this morning. I have very little faith in the Dodgers and the Nats, but I suppose I also didn't have much faith in the Mets last year.
