    I said "bad" because I see his contract listed in the media a lot as an impediment to him getting traded, which is of course ridiculous since he'd get far more if he were a FA this offseason.

    I don't think any team would put a claim in because of his perceived "bad" contract, but that would be an interesting game of chicken between the claiming team and the Brewers.

    Thought Erceg looked pretty good last night in his first game at Appleton.

    Sounds like Gatewood will play 3B, 1B and OF. Hopefully Erceg crushes and this is just a short stop for him on the way to Florida and then Biloxi next year.

    Heading to Appleton tomorrow, really excited to see him, Gatewood and Diaz. I would guess that Erceg will DH so they can let Gatewood keep working in his D, no?

    Haudricourt has made several references that he's not sure he'll get traded either. I will still be stunned (and fairly angry) if he's still a Brewer on 8/1.

    I am SHOCKED that Dombrowski would trade a top 25 prospect in all of baseball for a SP with one good half season to his name. Stearns needs to get him on the phone ASAP.

    Anyone have an idea when Clark is supposed to come back? I'm going to a couple of games next week and I'd love to see him play.

    I think it's amazing. I'm a huge fan of this FO so far. An organization like Milwaukee needs as many chances to develop players as possible. Not only getting this many draftees signed, but using every available pool dollar to get some higher talent players in the later rounds increases the odds that some of these kids will stick. All young players are crapshoots in baseball to a certain extent, so it's great to get as many bites at the apple as possible.

    How about McClanahan, Clark, AND Morrison? Love the infusion of talent we're getting.

    I am kind of worried about this Lucroy extension talk that popped up a bit though, especially given the lack of credible rumors. I know it's early, but I'd really like to move him ASAP.

    I like Garza just fine and I really hope he continues to pitch well so we can flip him for something of value, but he has no value right now because of how awful he was last year and his injury history. Two good starts won't change that. Realistically, he's a guy I'm hoping we can deal in August if he has a good summer.

    Stearns would get GM of the year and the Mets GM would get fired for that trade. They wouldn't do Braun for Matz straight up and Garza has negative value at this point.

    I think it's racist to imply that it has to do with these players being Cuban and suddenly having money as opposed to it just being players that don't work out. There are tons of prospects that get a big payday that never pan out and it has nothing to do with their nationality.

    That's a pretty casually racist comment there Mr. Briggs. It could also be that the sample size of Cuban-immigrant players isn't that large and like any group of prospects/there will be some hits and some misses.

    If the Nats offered Giolito straight up for Lucroy I would hope Stearns would say yes immediately.

    I really don't want to trade Braun (for purely sentimental reasons of course), but if we do, we better eat a lot of the contract and get an absolute haul of prospects back. Get the best talent package you can, regardless of position, and figure out the rest later. Same with Luc.

    lol at all of these posters freaking out over us picking a consensus top 10 player at 5! I'm sorry but I will trust the experts and our scouting department over the opinions of most posters here.

    #1 prospect on Keith laws board, I'll take it. Would have been ok with Groome, but whoever it is, it has to be a hit.

    Apparently the Ghostbusters bobble is only 4 inches tall. Kind of disappointing, but that would explain why the tickets for that package weren't very expensive.

    Feel like the pitching staff (outside of Peralta of course) has been sneaky good in the last month. Hopefully Davies and Anderson have turned a corner and Nelson and Guerra can continue doing what they're doing. It's encouraging.

    I like the ball and glove with the new color scheme, but hope that they keep the barley and M too (even though they barely wear it). I think their uniforms now are really great all in all. Leave the pin stripes for retro fridays.

    I've got to say, I kind of wish they would have gone in a different direction, although I'm not entirely sure what that would have been aside from the retired numbers players. Nelson already has a bobblehead this year, Jungmann is getting destroyed in AAA, and Smith hasn't pitched all year. I suppose this is going to happen when the team is in the situation it's in though!
