I would MUCH rather have Gallo than Brinson if it's a 2 for 2. I can't believe we couldn't even get a couple of younger lottery tickets. I like the Cleveland trade much better.
I'm guessing (hoping) that once we get closer to the deadline that Boyer, Torres, etc will be moved. I think those are the types of guys that teams will seek out after exhausting all of their other needs.
well said. I was all excited when I woke up this morning and saw a bunch of new posts only to find...whatever that was. I was really hoping Luc would be traded last night, this is really going to hamper my productivity at work today.
Joke's on him, instead of being underpaid on a contender, he's going to be underpaid for one of the worst teams in the league. Guess he doesn't want to win as much as he repeatedly said.
Yeah I was just going to post that. It's not out of the question that all of that could be true, I have no doubt that Luc would be gone if we had a great off on the table, but the tone was really annoying.
This is fairly reckless letting him play. It could be a franchise altering disaster if something bad were to happen. It sounded like there was momentum moving towards a deal enough to sit him, I'm stunned he's playing.
Apparently the Nats would be willing to trade Giolito straight up for Miller but the Yanks wouldn't (according to Heyman). That's insane if true and Stearns should get on the phone ASAP with Washington.
because we are a bad team right now that needs talent and prospects bust all the time. Don't acquire based on need, acquire based on talent and talent alone.
I didn't realize that that contract goes through 2020, yikes. That would have to be a Lucas Giolito type prospect coming back to take on that albatross.
Cubs pulled their #1 prospect, a 19 yr old SS in adv A, I am guessing they're getting Chapman. Hell of a haul for a couple months of him if that's the deal.
