  1. I like Rivera to back-up...if either of the kids can come close to matching kendall's defense, then let 'em play.. fair warning though, rookie catchers disappoint more than ny other position
  2. Kearns was ungodly bad last season...i don't want any part of that....i'd rather play gerut in RF
  3. It's a size 46---it's exactly the same as the early 80's light blue pullover jersey---number 71 Tis what it tis...i bought this from the team off of Ebay a couple years ago and got it signed by Evan when the Power was playing here, in Columbus Georgia. I paid $100 for it when it wasn't signed---I'm looking for $100 and now it's autographed for you! Send me a PM if you are seriously intersted, and I can email you pictures...I'm going to put this on ebay next week if there's not much interest.
  4. why not just keep rivera...
  5. I'm the first base coach for a high school fast pitch softball team---like my whole job is to steal signs...
  6. If anything, i suspect more type A free agent players will accept arbitration...not get stuck in limbo like cruz last year.. That's the only real concern...although, Lopez's curent hot streak is getting close to 1000 ab's, so he'll very likely get offered a multi year contract...
  7. Beside, if this season is just an outlier and he is likely to fall off next season, can we really expect any real pitching help in return for him? but isn't that the problem? The Brewers should explore all options and see what the best they can get is..it's just not terribly likely that Casey will repeat his numbers...sure, maybe he has turned a corner...but it wouldn't be a common occurrence...
  8. Have you guys just completely forgotten Scott Podsednik's rookie season? Casey McGehee= scotty po in terms of outlier seasons as rookies in the majors... I love casey and he's been great, but the odds are against him carrying an ops north of .760 next year...
  9. my original intentions were to buy magical mystery tour because i don't have that one and eventually the past masters disks... but... so far, i've bought those two, plus the first 4 albums (please, please me, with the beatles, hard days night, and for sale) and i might go further.. they really sound amazing...i guess i wasn't putting as much stock into this before hand, but i realize now why i liked the byrds and the kinks more than the beatles...the beatles recordings sounded liek garbage...now that the problem is solved, it's all i've listened to for a week and a half... can't believe what i've been missing with the early stuff...
  10. well, that's that...stars lose, season over.
  11. i dunno that green and cain are locks...those guys would probably kill a team if they had to be carried all season...if i was the brewers, i'd take that chance and postpone running out of option years another year...cain especially looks like he might be up and down between the majors and aaa for a few season,s so postponing those options might be a good call
  12. so Gindl went 0 for 7? curious, seeing as how he turned 21 on 8/31....
  13. Hernan is on the 40 man...he's out of options though, so he might get dfa'd in spring training
  14. can the proves not exercise his option then offer him arby? he's gotta be a type b...
  15. Ricky Nolasco has been on fire since his call-up...i doubt he's traded, and if so i bet it will be for much, much more than hardy
  16. If jOnes is to be kept past this year, he'll have to be added to the 40 man anyway, so i think you may as well do it now and let the guy get a start or two...the season's done...it would be a fun curiosity to get him in the bigs
  17. waaaaaaaaaay off topic...
  18. I can't help out until the beginning of sept., but I certainly will then...
  19. but his stolen bases don't drive in runs, and you didn't subtract his cs from avg/obp/slg
  20. four different people make the list---Toby told you why he didn't list him---i was the one who said age and experience...the guy dominated rookie ball at 24...i need to see more... if he has similar stats in huntsville over a large number of innings next year, he will fly up the list, like wooten and axford have...
  21. Fiers is 8 months OLDER than Yovani Gallardo trust me, I thought about adding him...but i need to see him pitch more than 11 innings above rookie ball before i rank him over younger guys with higher potential or older guys with good production/experience level
  22. Johnbriggs--- Your list of mlb player sis neat...now do a list of guys who stole bases like that at 23 in High A ball...i' bet you'll find that hundreds of guys have done that without having any kind of major league career...i moved him up my list, but he's only got one skill and he's actually below average at at least 2. he's an ok prospect...but he doesn't have the potential to break out like guys like Brewer
  23. Kentrail Davis has signed for well above slot as well...
