Well, two playoff appearances in a four season span must mean that the "checkers" strategy is working. Why does everyone use winning as an excuse to discredit anything negative about this team or organization?

Apparently they do have a lot of money. Really rich boosters. I agree it makes no sense but Marquette fans at their two main message boards seem to think it is a real possibility because Buzz and they AD dont get along or something like that I was following along with the Buzz vs the AD thing, and it seems like mostly rumors. MU also spends a lot more on athletics than SMU. MU should have no problem outspending to retain Buzz. After Crean left, there was a lot of talk from the University about how MU wasn't a stepping stone, it may be time for them to put their money where there mouth is. Also, if you look at the committed recruits coming in, they could be something really special in 2 years. Its a long way off, but Cracked Sidewalks just had a blog post where his projection system has them being better than any team was this year. I know its a long ways off, but his projection system has been pretty remarkable so far, with this years Final 4 being in its top 5 last June (UNC was the extra at 1, and Cuse w/Mello was 6th IIRC).

I think a lot of people are under-remembering just how good Bruce was in his first full year in the majors. In 2010, he has a much better year than anything Hart has done. In fact, he had a higher WAR than anything Braun had done prior to his MVP season.

Yea, there are BYOB places, but these are both bars with a back area. Maybe the laws are different or they aren't considered part of the bar. I was thinking more like how some hotels have bars, but let you rent out the room and serve your own. I know this is possible in WI, it happens at a lot of the weddings I go to. I could see a room actually inside a bar not wanting to allow this though.

Huh, bringing your own booze isn't a regular thing then. I know two places in Chicago that let you do that so I was hoping to find something similar. Maybe I should be looking more at hotels. I'll check out that County link though, looks pretty sweet. We are trying to stay away from the Brewer game as odd as that sounds. The Bach has season tickets, so we want to make sure we do something out of the usual routine.

You know who actually has an even better contact percentage than Young? Yuniesky Betancourt. This isn't a reason someone is considered a good hitter, let alone HOF worthy.

A lot of people said the same thing about Yount and Molitor too. It was only later in their careers did people start really appreciating them fully. Then those people are idiots. Pretty sure Yount was recognized for his 1982 season when he won an MVP award at age 26. He posted an 11.5 WAR and an OPS+ of 166 as a SS. He led the league in hitting. That may have been one of the top 5 seasons ever by any MLB player. Young doesn't belong in the same sentence as Yount, barring a Bonds-like steroidal rise to greatness in his late 30s.

I need to plan a Bachelor Party in Milwaukee for June. A lot of ideas are being thrown around, but one that I really like is the idea of renting our own private area somewhere to grill out and listen/watch a Brewer game during the afternoon before going out. I know we could just go to a park, but I am trying to make it a little more special and private than that. I've seen a lot of bars in the city that will let you rent a room in the bar, but not living in the MKE area anymore, I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that would let us rent more of an outdoor area. I realize this may be a stretch, so in the end we may opt for more of a river cruise type of event. Or if we do end up just renting a room, does anyone know of a bar that would let us rent a private area and bring our own booze and wouldn't have a problem housing a bach party? Thanks for any ideas.

Yea, Lori's reaction was puzzling, even after the explanation. The two big reveals at the end were a welcome addition, and the writers said that the pace of the last three episodes would carry over going forward. I got the impression that they were trying to build the characters and back stories, which is why it was slow previously. As others have said, they did a relatively poor job writing that, so hopefully they stick to the action with some dialogue mixed in when necessary.

I think this is what Apple wants it's loyal customers to think. The Razr Maxx goes days without a charge, and is thinner with a much larger screen than the 4s. Its been possible for a while, Apple would just have to eat into those profits.

Have you heard of the Sony Vita? While their proprietary memory cards are also a slap in the face, the prices are no where near what Apple gets away with. And you can swap them out as need be. And that thing looks like a total failure. As others have said, 16gb is going to fill up real fast with the higher res screen. All of the apps are going to be much larger when they do get updated (that may take a while as well, another reason to wait for an upgrade). I would put as much stuff in the cloud as possible.

Thats 3/11 years, and they were his first 3 years in the league. See how I managed to skew a totally different conclusion? I just can't see arguing that he wont be a significant upgrade over Yuni, especially if you want to actually look at the stats.

Where are you getting negative defensive ratings for 5/12 years? I see 2 out of 9, which seems pretty good. And I don't think I've ever seen someone skew their conclusion to their own opinion so dramatically. Gonzo's last 3 years average to 1.7 WAR. Yuni's to -0.23. And that includes Gonzalez coming off a knee injury. Given all that, how you figure they are basically the same most years is beyond me.

Sophia as well. How would you compare them? Issues vs. Episodes? Just because one has more character development doesn't mean it is going at a slow pace. This isn't a zombie show, it's a show with zombies. I must have missed the character development outside of the last few episodes. And the two of the three characters they developed were promptly killed off. Don't get me wrong, these last couple of episodes have been much better, but I was close to tuning out.

When the show first started I actually thought that would be the ending of Season 1. Sort of shows how slow the TV series is vs the comics. I wouldn't say that, just look at Dale. They are still at the farm but they are also doing other things and other storylines as well. I wouldn't say one early death makes the overall plot arc not slow relative to the comics.
