  1. Most people aren't saying we are losing because of him. They are saying he makes poor decisions despite the results. That hasn't changed since last year...people are just pointing out how lame the ideas about him being a good manager last year because of the record were.
  2. I have 300. I also suggest Planet Earth and those types of documentaries.
  3. I've heard if you give away a milestone baseball it actually costs you a lot of money in taxes. Obviously not if its a rookie or something.
  4. Don't forget position. I can't remember anything like Dunn's 2011. Dunn posted a -2.9 WAR. Weeks is on pace for a -1.8.
  5. Thats just way too idealistic. People in general, especially those in power, react differently to different people. I'm 30, and just now starting to look like I am in my late 20s. I have had to endure some things at MP or other public areas that others my age don't have to deal with just because I look young. I don't want to say anything that should go on the political board instead, but being white I probably have it really easy. I think there is fault on both sides in this story, but I could absolutely see security escalating this if for no other reason than it has happened to me before. You may have just caught a guy on a bad day, or maybe he just dealt with some other rowdy fan and took it out on you. I would write the Brewers and see if they will compensate you.
  6. I received a personal private message from Mr. Hendrickson himself after I had the audacity to suggest that the Brewers may be better served starting a pitcher with the ability to break a pane of glass with his fastball. FWIW, I also got several private messages from him and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
  7. Sheeter's hammer curve was unhittable that game. Well for every MLB player except one.
  8. Why is the Italian soccer (football) team identified and called azzurro, or The Azzurri?
  9. See, I think that's entirely reasonable for a meal for 2 people. Also, it depends greatly on what apps you get there for prices. You guys who live in Milwaukee are pretty spoiled by the quality of food/beer you get for the prices. Don't get me wrong, Chicago has better dinning which is should just because of the population, but I miss that sweet spot of price for food you get.
  10. My ideas on prices are a little skewed from living in Chicago, but it seemed pretty reasonable to me. Lots of options for under $20 for dinner. Their biggest steak isn't over $40. The cheese plates get a little expensive, but totally worth it to me. The beer selection is awesome, though again, I'm much more impressed by having New Glarus available than you guys are. They also have a selection of 3 Floyds, which I don't recall seeing at other MKE restaurants. It should also be mentioned that the two times I was there, the service was excellent. Its somewhat casual, but the staff is as well trained as much higher end restaurants in my opinion.
  11. Went to Rumpus Room with my mom for a late Mother's Day lunch. I really enjoyed it.

  13. No, his point was that what you take away from Rose being left out of the Hall of Fame (a lesson in punishment for all) is flawed because there isn't punishment for all. He isn't saying someone should be able to get away with anything because others did. Conversely, do you think all jaywalkers should be sentenced to life in prison because all murders are too? You break the law, you pay the consequences, right? See the logical flaw?
  14. What does that have to do at all with his previous post?
  15. Yup. I can't remember the last time I was looking forward to a movie this much.
  16. After watching fans for the last year decide RR is a good manager because the team was good, its really tempting to bash him now that they suck.
  17. i immediately pictured the scene in Fight Club where he's at the board meeting with a swollen face and a busted lip, freaking everybody out but just grinning away. I actually got my current job 3 years ago when I had to interview 2 days after ripping the right side of my face open on some concrete. It helped that it was my second interview though, so they at least saw me without bandages on my cheek and wrists. I remember when they made me the offer in the interview, and my current boss said something to the effect of "you don't seem as excited about the offer as I thought you would be" to which I responded, "well, it hurts to smile."
  18. Ross is your best bet for what you are looking for.
  19. FWIW, Toyota's are no longer automatically recommended by Consumer Reports. I believe that started right around '08 or '09. Honda and Subaru are now the only makes that are auto recommended. It seems Toyota's quality control has really slipped.
  20. How do you know that? It's why gambling is banned-period. Gambling and baseball is more punishable than any other sport because MLB had such a black eye from a scandal that had nothing to do with Pete Rose. People have been banned just for being seen with gamblers. Mays and Mantle were banned for a while simply for being greeters at legal casinos. Meanwhile, Tim Raines had to slide headfirst because of all the blow in his back pocket. And of the 11 players who were convicted in the Pittsburgh drug trials, to my knowledge, none of them even missed a game. Addiction is addiction. Rose just was wired to have the wrong addiction because of history.
  21. He had an addiction. Lots of players in the Hall have addictions too. He didn't bet against his own team, so he should absolutely be in.
  22. Weird, or John Axford weird?
  23. If they were really lucky, he'd be so mad, he'd retire. If the Brewers could trade him, they'd do it in a heart beat. There aren't takers for guys hitting .155 and leading the league in strikeouts, much less guys with contracts like Weeks. The good news is we'll be spared having to watch him in the HR derby this year. He'd probably swing and miss. Seriously, you are going to throw out his entire career for 1/4 of a season, and then assume every GM in baseball would do the same.
  24. I think its awesome. Why are you guys so down on a fat guy who wants to draw attention to himself. If history has shown us one thing, its that those types are hilarious.
