  1. I AM STILL OPTIMISTIC ON A .500 SEASON!!!!! I dont know about you, but I was out with my wife all weekend, away from the internet, doing things in real life with actual human beings. but hey! thanks for coming in here and raining on everyones parade! LETS GET BACK IN THIS! .500+ OR BUST BABY! Just curious, why would you root for a .500 season, or any arbitrary winning percentage for that matter? Personally, I want this team to win a world series or at least make it deep into the playoffs. A .500 season at this point is actually detrimental to that goal when compared to trading everything that wont be part of that next playoff team for prospects and bringing up the prospects. You're optimistic for a .500 season. Others here are trying to be optimistic this team takes the approach they should to try to win a world series in the next few years. Don't be a Debbie-downer on their optimism either, or go start a ".500 RECORD OPTIMISM!!!" thread of your own if thats the only thing you want to discuss.
  2. I can't believe he got his loan so smoothly, must have really committed some "mortgage fraud." If he isn't willing to work with you at all, I would find out what his mortgage terms are and bring up those two words casually. My guess is that he would become a little more cooperative.
  3. His loan probably requires him to live in the unit as opposed to renting it out. I would have thought this would have been covered though when he applied for the loan, those guys dig pretty deep into everything these days.
  4. 94? That sounds about right. Looking at Wikipedia, thats the year they have too. Thanks.
  5. Billy Joel and Elton John at County Stadium with my parents. I couldn't tell you the date, and I didn't really want to go at the time.
  6. I'd try a seance with Ruth, Gehrig and Mantle or get the guy from Back to the Future to bring Hank Aaron back from 1957. Those have about the same chance as Wright, Hamels or Josh Hamilton playing in Milwaukee...at least before they fall off a cliff at age 38. hey, the question wasn't "what, realistically, do you think Mark A would do?", it was "what would you do?"... and if I was a billionaire, I'd buy a World Series Championship for the Brewers.... Pretty sure the question was what would you do if you were DM and RR. Those guys aren't billionaires.
  7. I guess I'm confused why setting up Tapatalk will use more bandwidth. Its my understanding that setting up mobile apps with forums dramatically reduces bandwidth used.
  8. I think the bigger issue is that its somewhat irrelevant to this thread. But if you want to post some speculative article as fact, don't let me stop you.
  9. I love Sorkin's writing, no matter how long winded and ridiculous the deliveries become. I also love Sam Waterston's character.
  10. Seriously, if you lose that 1 game playoff, do you even feel like you "made the playoffs?"
  11. Yes, it does have a much larger effect, but to me that's all the more reason for a pitcher to watch how he acts. A pitcher/ace shouldn't be allowed more leeway than a position player. Long story short, I agree Greinke didn't deserve to be tossed, but like he said he did something stupid and it's hard to lay that on the umpire. I'm not saying an ace should be allowed more leeway than a position player. They should be allowed as much in my opinion, and Greinke wasn't. How can you not lay that on the umpire?
  12. This is why I don't know how to approach it. Not to mention, how do you account for the difference in there "being a book on a guy" vs a team seeing him for a second or third time. Surely seeing the guy in person from the batter's box is different than reading a scouting report or watching video.
  13. Batters throw their bats down and show emotion all the time and they aren't tossed unless they do it in the direction of the ump. Their backs were to each other, no way Greinke should have been thrown and that has nothing to do with reading intention.
  14. Yes, there is. No book on them - hitters aren't sure what to expect. Happens all the time. Awesome! Ha, ha. I have to agree that it seems like just as many guys struggle. It would be really interesting to see a study like this, but I'm not sure how to objectively approach it.
  15. Agreed, but those that hate Bud would have just found something else to get mad at him about.
  16. My brother and I got hooked up with great seats a few rows back behind home plate. It was the best experience I've ever had in a baseball stadium. Personally, I could care less about the tie, the whole experience up until the fan's reaction to that, was awesome.
  17. I'm a Forum Runner guy currently, but I would just get Tapatalk since I would use it for other forums as well and it probably is the better choice. If the issue is with the staff testing it, you could probably get enough regular users who already have the app who would be happy to beta test for you. I know I would be one of those people.
  18. I've been training for my first 5k but trying to continue lifting weights. Last night I ran a 5k on a treadmill (3 weeks ahead of schedule so I was pretty pumped up), then went to bench. I was pretty tired and my form obviously suffered. On my last set, my right shoulder moved back really quick and I managed to pull something right under my shoulder blade. Looks like I wont be running for a while, I can't even take a half breath. And every time I move my arm I wince in pain. I'm trying to avoid going to the Dr to get some painkillers, but right now I can't even walk without wincing in pain and I'm taking a ton of Tylenol and Advil.
  19. Yes. Well, more like you as an individual are no where near the top of their priority list, unless you actually get the job. My 2.5 year job search consisted and being ignored and flat out lied to by HR people. Funny enough, the two places that actually hired me have had great HR departments. I think a big part of it is that when companies downsized, they often let go the HR people who actually knew what they were doing. Now the HR processes are being put on technical people who are too busy with their day to day work to follow up or even conduct a proper interview. At least, thats the way its been in my field, though I have been lucky enough to be employed the last 3 years.
  20. I might have to drive up from Chicago just to participate in the standing ovation he better get.
  21. I'd rather occupy the scoreboard and produce line drives.
  22. Again, it's something catered to the fans. Fans would love to see Braun win it, just like they did when Prince won it. I'm not so sure the national fan wants to see Braun in it.
  23. Any progress here? This is a feature I'm eagerly awaiting.
  24. What is their LTE timeline for Chi/Mke? I've got unlimited lte with Verizon, but since they've "adjusted" their plans to destroy my bank account at my next upgrade I may be looking to move.
  25. I think a lot of times the suggestions are just movies that people like and not necessarily the best looking movies.
