  1. Its 2011. Is herpes really that taboo that when a rumor of this nature comes from several sources its inappropriate to discuss the medical implications?
  2. 100% agree. No clue. He probably got it from riding a tractor in his swimsuit.
  3. Was the pacing much better last season even with the larger budget? This just seems to be the shows MO to me.
  4. Fielder put up an average WAR of 3.9 over his first 6 seasons. WAR doesn't account for how poorly he receives throws, so one could make an argument thats more like a 3.5 WAR per season. He is also most likely to be in decline now, though I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt as say I would expect something like a 5 WAR next season. Anyway, I don't think its that unrealistic to think Gamel plus another player having a career year could match that. I don't even think its that unreasonable to think Gamel alone might match that one of these next few seasons, though I am a lot higher on him than most.
  5. This is completely false. The story is everywhere in every market.
  6. I heard in an interview the next episode to air is considered the best besides the premire by the people who make the show. It really is good tv when we get resolutions.
  7. Well now that Apple has forced everyone else to start playing dirty, the consumers in Europe are going to suffer with a possible ban on everything running iOS. Apple just got a seriously bad taste of their own medicine this week with three devastating court decisions in less than 48 hours. I don't know why they thought it was smart to go on such an offensive when everyone else could get them back. An Australian court on Friday lifted a ban on the sale of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy tablet computer in the country, adding to a U.S. legal victory for the South Korean technology firm in its bruising battle with Apple Inc. So Samsung wins in the US and Austraia, butthe kicker is:
  8. He's a great fit for their offense and they have been sending guys to the NBA.
  9. This happens every year to MU. They are projected to finish middle of the pack and be a bubble team in the NCAA, then they end up much higher and everyone acts surprised. In terms of Otule, he is having everything checked out today, but Buzz said he didn't think it was too serious.
  10. I really don't know what to even make of them. I can't remember ever seeing a deep MU team, let alone one with Buzz' intensity. This could be a fun couple of years.
  11. Wow, MU with a ballsy win tonight against a tough Wash team.
  12. Thanks man. Its been a fun hobby for me and some friends. We've learned so much about website design and business stuff its been worth the effort on that alone, but the positive feedback we've started to get is icing on the cake.
  13. Thomas was also 6'5." Just look at a picture of him, his body type is nothing like Fielder's. I've stood next to Prince while he was in cleats in Beloit and he wasn't even 5'10." My guess is 5'9."
  14. I can tell you that right now they are probably very busy. Yes, they should obviously be responding to customer questions, but it might take them a while to get orders shipped. And I am guessing their setup is actually similar to MilwaukeeShirtGuys, in that they actually don't print as orders come in but have an inventory of previously printed shirts. Sites like mine that let you choose from a variety of shirt colors are the ones that print as the orders come in. Its much less cost effective to do one offs, which is why its so rare with the exception of the crappy quality of Spreadshirt based sites like Milwaukee Mart. So I doubt their site was selling something they didn't already have in stock, however it may just take them a while to get everything shipped in the mail, not to mention the USPS slowing down too. All that being said, his site says he ships in 1-3 business days unless notification that he is out of town on his facebook page, so if you still haven't heard that the shirt shipped and haven't gotten a response I would file a dispute with Paypal. He will get a notice and you can then cancel the dispute if/when it is shipped. If it isn't shipped, you get the money back with no problems or extra work on your part.
  15. So Prince was at least a 10 WAR player this year? I don't buy that. The Brewers may very well win 10-12 less games but it won't be due to just losing one player. I say the difference between Gamel and Prince is 3-4 wins. Not only that, but Gamel is then a replacement player. I agree, pretty unlikely.
  16. Your comparing hypothetical salaries........ And? What am I missing? How do you estimate a players worth than by looking at other players? How do you decide how to fill out a rotation and balance a payroll? You don't discuss their value and past performance compared to their peers?
  17. Jim Leyland really Jim Leylanded Jackson in 2009. I'm surprised his shoulder has held up these past two years. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/sortable/index.php?cid=1047332
  18. Well when using one to compare proposed salary to the other I would think everyone would care who is better.
  19. Yea, B-R basically just came up with their own method for calcing WAR, but continued to call it WAR. Its pretty confusing.
  20. Yes, if you throw out the best season anyone has had in nearly a decade, then two additional great seasons, they are pretty close. What two additional great seasons? The ones that were similar to Jackson's 2009 and 2011? My point is that if you pay Greinke based on his 2009 numbers, there's a much greater chance you are overpaying for a guy who'll be about as good as Edwin Jackson going forward. His 2008 and 2010 were far superior to anything Jackson has ever done. Though if I remember correctly, you value different peripherals than I do so this discussion probably isn't going to arrive at us agreeing.
  21. Yes, if you throw out the best season anyone has had in nearly a decade, then two additional great seasons, they are pretty close.
  22. Would you consider the fact that the new TV deal doesn't start until the 2013 season to be a good excuse? Thats really the only guaranteed increase in funds the team is going to see. I think we should be happy our owners spend more money per household than any other team in baseball.
  23. Well, just to be clear, the Mets actually paid KRod last year. They sent that money in the trade. In the past we've shown a willingness to spend on BP arm, but with the way the team is constructed next season I don't see that happening again.
  24. Personally, I would never give my money or support an organization or school that was involved in such a cover up. And make no mistake about it, the cover up went to the highest levels. I would think twice about anyone who would knowingly give their money to that organization. If that makes me a petty idiot, so be it. I'm not saying it would be a deciding factor and I would just shred all PSU resumes, but I have to admit I don't know if I could be objective given two similar applicants.
  25. I think the issues people who have read the comics have with the show isn't that it has changed, its that they are dragging out the source material. Usually when something is made into a movie a bunch of stuff is cut out and people complain about that. In this case though, there are tons of exciting and key plot points that they should be getting to, but the pacing of the TV show is actually slower than the comics.
