  1. My guess is Jack kills everyone, but then Chloe kills him.
  2. I am shocked anyone would have Howard near the top of their list.
  3. I think those comments were taken out of context (I hope) but I agree he shouldn't have said it at the time. His numbers in ST were terrible and he had little chance of making the team anyway. He should have packed his bags and been thankful for the oportunity which he failed to take advantage of.
  4. Yes, and with Amazon you get a code for the Golden Gun dl (lets you gain fame quicker or something). Its pretty awesome so far and has kept me distracted from how bad the Brewers have become the last 2 nights.
  5. I thought Attack and Release was a different direction from their usual stuff (I blame Danger Mouse's production). I still liked it, but in a different way. Brothers is outstanding however and is a true Keys album even though they still delve into some new directions. Theres Auerbach signing in a falsetto voice and some songs (Never Gonna Give You Up in particular) that sound like a true oldie you have been hearing on the radio for decades. Regardless of all that, 4 of the first 5 songs on Brothers (Howlin' For You is actually my low point of the album but I assume I am in the minority there) seem like they will hook anybody in one listen. My boss, who had never heard of the Black Keys until 2 weeks ago, had Everlasting Light on repeat for 3 hours this morning. If you like any of Rock/Garage Band/Oldies music in general I recommend you give Brothers a listen. You may not become a rabid fan, but I think pretty much everyone will at the very least like what they hear. I can't wait to see these guys again at Lolla this summer. And thanks for the National Review. I didn't know they had a new album so I will have to check that out.
  6. Gerut has played well in the last 2 years when given regular playing time. In fact, one of those seasons he played fantastic. Just because it wasn't when he was on the Brewers doesn't mean he sucks or should be DFA'd. It means the team hasn't used him effectively.
  7. 1. AGon 2. Texiera 3. Prince 4. Morneau 5. Howard Can I include Votto? I would put him ahead of Howard.
  8. Did I miss the part where he took out all the Russians? They skipped the best part. He used a freakin sword for crying out loud.
  9. Edu isn't on the prelim roster, so there is no chance he will play in this World Cup. I too wouldn't mind seeing Altidore alone at the top. Maybe a 4-5-1 could work well with Landon and Dempsey still providing offense. As others have said, they need to feed Altidore in a way he can use his body to create shots. I agree he isn't a great finisher. His goal against Spain pretty much sums up his game from the admittedly little of his game I have seen. He threw the defender off, turned, then didn't bury it in the corner, but still put the ball far enough to the side so the goally could only deflect it.
  10. The list of forwards Bradley submitted for the prelim roster has me very concerned. I hope they can get some offense out of their midfielders. Besides Altidore, there isn't much to be excited about. Also, if you guys don't already know, Jay DeMerit is from GB so I will be rooting extra hard for him.
  11. Is there something wrong with that? I jmean, its more personal and private than a Facebook wall post.
  12. Lopez's defense may actually be worse than Weeks though.
  13. That's the tough thing about making a list like this, everyone has different ideas on what should be there. The Indy 500 (or any car race) wouldn't make my top 1000 and that's what makes these non-personal lists difficult. Its not that tough. I don't know or care at all about horse racing and I just crossed the infield at the Kentucky Derby off the list. Some things just transend sport and are actual events or rights of passage any fan of competition should experience. The Indy 500 is certainly one of them even though there will be the ocasional person who has no interest.
  14. I have a feeling he is going to kill a ton of people these last couple of episodes. Its going to be like the end of Comando awesome.
  15. Black Keys new album Brothers is really good as is the new New Pornographers album.
  16. Those are completely different scenarios. Milwaukee had Prince tearing through the minors and Sexton was going to be a FA after 1 more year. Greinke isn't blocking anyone and has a team friendly contract for 2.5 more years.
  17. And then the sirens being turned off indicating his death. Seems sloppy to bring him back.
  18. Perhaps he could but I remember this article shedding some light on the reason to move him to the bullpen in the first place: http://sportsillustrated....ine/MAG1115794/index.htm Papelbon, 26, walked off the field and headed straight for the office of manager Terry Francona. "Tito," Papelbon said, addressing Francona by his nickname, "I'm not sleeping good. I know deep down in my heart this is not what I want to do. If you want to give me the ball in the ninth, I'd love to go back in that role." Replied Francona, "Well, hell yeah!" See, Papelbon is more wolf than sheep. "On the mound with the ball in his hand and the game on the line," says bullpen coach Gary Tuck, "he is pure rage."
  19. Then why did Sabathia just sign a contract for $23 mil per that blew every other offer out of the water? I don't think any pitcher is worth a long term $25 mil per contract at this time.
  20. Yea, in my signature. The guys that do the Wolf Pack at all the home games wear them too along with masks. Its pretty awesome. Pujols and A-Rod? In my opinion, yes. I don't think anyone else should be making more than that. You could make a case for Mauer I guess, but health and a possible position change doom him over a long contract in my mind.
  21. It's easy for someone who has not encountered this to hear the word anxiety and think of all the ordinary causes of anxiety and try to project them to this situation. The moral being always look before jumping to conclusions. I wish him well for his sake. The prospect business will take care of itself once he is well. Anyone have any idea how long it usually takes to find the right drugs for something like this? I can't imagine it being too quick given the combination of different drugs and different doses that will take time and close monitoring to determine success. I just hope they make sure to dot all the i's and cross all the t's so that Angel doesn't loose 100 games for trying to get well. No kidding. My family member can push me in most sports and not show any fear skiing or playing hockey, but then something like a thunderstorm or room of people will freak him out for seemingly no reason. From what I understand some people never find the right combination of drugs. Some "grow out of it" and some find help through counseling. It is different for everyone, but diagnosis is a great first step.
  22. In my opinion, there are only 2 $25 mil/yr players in baseball. Howard and Prince are not one of them.
  23. We went to 4th Street on Friday and it was pretty cool. Its like Water St. if they put a glass roof on it. Staying across the river worked out really well, so I guess I can't complain too much if I have to actually pay for it next year. It sounds a lot better than $1000 for a night in the city and the cab rides really are not bad at all.
  24. Hey heresrobin or anyone else who has been there, Where do you guys typically stay. I really lucked out with a free ride and hotel, but if I want to go again next year I will actually have to pay. I am hearing hotels in Louisville that weekend go for around $1000 a night. Across the river you are looking at $400-300 (which is where we stayed this year and it worked out pretty well). Still, there has to be some better options if you plan far enough in advance.
  25. I have and will continue to root for Angel as I think he has the potential to be a truly special player while I see LuCroy as more of a solid MLB guy. As a Brewer fan, we would be fools not to want them both to succeed. In terms of anxiety, I won't pretend to know what Angel is going through, but I have a family member who was misdiagnosed with ADD then finally with an anxiety disorder. The medicine and the side effects made everything an uphill battle for him. Things like getting out of bed, eating meals, and working out (things an MLB player has to do very well to succeed) are very difficult. I can't even imagine trying to call a game or be out on the diamond in general. Again, not saying this is what is going on with Angel, but rather that I understand that most people simply can't understand what is going on inside the head of someone with a chemical imbalance. I wish him the best as a person and as a prospect. I will be rooting for his success in both aspects.
