1. Stiemsma did look great yesterday. I am a MU fan first, and this was a tough loss. Im excited to think that all three guards may be back next year. They don't need offense from the post since any of their guards can drive to the rim and Lazar is kinda a tweener. If Mbakwe and Burke can provide some interior defense (Mbakwe played great against Hibbert, so there is no reason to think he can't) they could be very good next year and match up defensively with anyone. And if anyone thinks loosing Fitzgerald and his 6-9 height is a bad thing (Mr. QL), they clearly have not watched more than a handfull of games this year. If Fitzy wasn't knocking down 3s there is no reason to have him in the game. He was a huge defensive liability. He may have be listed at 220, but he played weaker than the 165 of Acker. Not to mention consistently making stupid fouls and giving the other team 3 point plays. I am convinced that an athletic 6-7 or 6-8 player can properly defend a more unathletic 7 footer and that seemed to be true until yesterday's game.
2. my blood pressure has trippled here...8 sec left
3. The refs are giving this to stanford...sick.
4. UHF might be the funniest movie ever. I wish I thought Wedding Crashers was funny (minus the 3 min of Will Ferrel) but I just don't. Cheers to you for finding humor there.
5. RyGuy, I am pretty sure that your avitar is the exact same as the poster I had on my wall when I was 6 or 7. Good stuff. I agree that Yost will over-vaule defense for CF, and thats not necessarily a bad thing. Plus, as has been said before, if Gwynn hits at all well, he may have some value to another team.
6. I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to chime in to be careful which model you get. I got my brother hdmi cables for Christmas since thats what he asked for. He wasn't too happy xmas morning when he realized he didn't have hdmi out on the back of his 360. From what I have seen, the cables make a big difference too.
7. Del from Deltron 3030: Sufferin and f***'em all's the motto I'm trapped in a bottle My music's gettin hollow That's what happens when humanity you follow Where every leak or info is hard to swallow Sell your Marlboros and car insurance Put n***** on the moon and can't pay your burdens I smoke herb and rock a turban Meditate on the world and whats occurrin Every song on the album has got awesome lyrics with the futuristic theme and amaizing production from Dan the Automator.
8. I lived off the stuff for 5 years of college and 1 year afterwards. Add me to the list of people who drain their noodles or just don't put much water in to begin with. I hardly ever used the spice packs though. Those are the things that make it unhealthy (sodium wise). I would just put parmisan cheese or some butter on them...probably not too much better, but still. I used to eat them raw all the time my freshman year. I would come back from a party a little "overserved" and my roommate and I would eat 2 packs each usually. I am not sure if it was a safety thing (not wanting to use hot water in that state) or just laziness, but we would wake up the next day and have crunchy bits of noodle all over the floor and try to figure out what happend...good times.
9. Definatly get an agent. My buyer's agent was invaluable when I purchased my condo. In addition, he gave me something like 25% of his commission, which is his policy. If you are looking in the Chicago area, let me know and I can give you his info. Otherwise, I would look around for something similar.
10. I'm not saying she is in the right here, but I understand: Link For those of you who don't have Comcast, they make TimeWarner look good. I will not even get into all the problems I have had with them in the 4 months I have used their services. Now I hear they are going to block their internet users from using Torrents. The day they do that is the day I call AT&T and switch to DSL.
11. Maybe a little more obsucre, but Aesop's producer, Blockhead, almost always sports a retro Brewers hat: http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/56060891.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF1939847EC77F5F8D1CE254C10B66C5C60D1A40A659CEC4C8CB6
12. The thing I dont get about the mountains turning blue when its cold is that I thought Coors was always supposed to be kept cold since it isn't pasturised. So shouldn't the mountains always be blue? Am I wrong about this?
13. I am mostly a high life guy but my grandma is a Coors girl. Perhaps now we will get along better at family gatherings. I see that Coors owns Molson too. I do have to admit that Molson Ice is just about the greatest thing ever. The version I had once in Canada was like moonshine and still tasted like awesomeness.
14. Bringing this back thanks to the much improved search function. Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass I just got this yesterday and I have to say that it is really good. I have been a big fan for a long time and saw him do an amaizing live show 3 or 4 years ago in Chicago. His last two albums starting with Bazooka Tooth were very disappointing to me as the production (which he did himself) made the songs practically unlistenable. His lyrics and flow was still great of course, but the over production just ruined everything. Thankfully this time he has his old producer back for most of the tracks and when he does the production it is really toned down. While its not as good as his older stuff, it is very very good. This album may just get me back into underground rap.
15. RATM - Township Rebellion Specifically the chorus, "Why stand on a silent platform, fight the war, _____ the norm" with the sweet guitar in the background. I think its the last time they do the chorus.
16. First job was as a tennis instructor when I was 17. It may sound interesting, but got old very fast. I learned quickly that working is for suckers. Oh and the weirdest thing ever, Brent Moss, former Wisconsin Badger RB and Racine native (I lived in Racine) came in my lane one time and bought a ton of kids stuff for his kids such as a "Power Wheels" deal. He was kinda arguing with his "significant other" at the time of the cash transaction. Thats funny because I had a friend who used to make cash transactions with Brent Moss all the time too.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif
17. Who else remembers the Matt Bernstein game vs. Penn where he had to wait until sundown to come in and rush for over 100 yds? I just remember him eating a chicken breast and like 5 oranges on the sideline in 2 min before coming in and destroying Penn St. defense.
18. It's one thing to make those noises in a studio with production tricks and stuff, but to do it live shows how amazing he is. There is absolutely without question no one who plays like he does. Yea, I wasn't really expecting it to sound like their albums, or at least for it to not sound spot on with just one man and his guitar, but it was absolutely perfect. It also looked like he was using a pencil or comb during "People of the Sun" and during another song he was playing with one hand while tunning his guitar in and out to make the proper sound. Completely out of this world. And as for Zach's speech, I am not a political person but they are pretty hardcore and passionate and its hard not to get amped up when someone is screaming at you: "They're not scared of us, they're scared of you......WAKE UP...WAKE UP...!"
19. I was there and it was awesome. Yea, the traffic was pretty ridiculous, but the show was amaizing. Tom Morello is just ridiculous. Did anyone else notice the part where he appeared to pull out the cord on his guitar and use it to play? I am not sure how that works, but whatever. Me and my buddy left Evanston, IL at 2:30 and got there around 6:30, so a 4 hr drive that would normally be 1.5-2 hours...but part of the problem was getting out of northern Chicago which was pretty beat up from the storm the night before. Coming out of the concert I thought was kinda cool. It was surprising we didn't see any crashes or anyone get hit, but everyone was helping everyone else get their cars out. As we were walking to our car, we probably stopped and pushed 3-4 cars, then when we got stuck about 4 people came and helped me out. All in all, it was a great experience and for that reason I am not going to complain.
20. Marge: Homer! Did you tell the mafia they could eliminate my competitors with savage beatings and attempted murder? Homer: In those words? [swallowing beer] ... Yes. And of course, the greatest Simpsons quote of all: Snake: Oh no, beta!
21. There's 4 USB ports on the front of the thing. Shouldn't be a problem to hook up a keyboard that way...it seems to accept and work with verything else I have thrown at it like my cell phone, camera, ipod, ect.
22. It could just be whatever home park he is in though that he performs better. Just because he is dominating at Coors, doesn't mean wherever his next home park is he wouldn't be as good, just look at the Brewers on the road vs. at home. While that could be true, I would prefer to look at things like actual evidence as opposed to hearsay and conjecture. I think we can all agree that Coors is the most hitter friendly park in the MLB. As End said, .300/.363/.470 is above average but nowhere near MVP level. Personally, I would rather have Jenks for the rest of the year than Holliday all things considered.
23. I think the show is hilarious, but people who I have told to watch it don't seem to like it as much as I do. I think you have to look past the detective/mystery part of the show which is usually pretty formulaic and follow along with the whitty dialog. The metrosexual stuff and pop culture references are great though, as they seem to obsess over men's hair and reference things as random as Gus' love of MMB (Meredith Baxter Birney) who Shawn is convinced is only because she was APK's (Alex P. Keaton) mom.
24. "hey, glad you scored from first, and I loved your plate discipline -- however, on the video replay, you slowed up in between first and second. Mind just watching the third base coach instead and trust his judgement?" "Excuse me for a second Mr. Weeks, but if you don't mind my saying, do you think you could trust your third base coach next time when a ball is hit to right field and you are running the opposite direction. I mean no disrespect, I'm just saying that it seems to me that this is what you were probably taught in little league. But hey, if you don't want to look at the third base coach, thats fine too. In fact, what do I know, I'm sorry I even brought it up. Here, have my lunch money while we are at it. Sorry to disturb you sir." If Ned wants to say something he will. Its usually good cop-bad cop and I would guess the baserunning coach is on the players side and Ned is the bad cop.
25. I think this is a great topic of discussion. If we have learned anything from Coors, its that a certain type of pitcher really struggles there. Seeing a guy who relies on the combination of a fastball and curveball struggle in Coors is nothing new. Would we have even been better off if Sheets had started the game? His ERA in Coors is 8.84. I am not too worried about Yo struggling yesterday...I just hope he isn't worried either.
