I went last year and got there at 4pm on Friday, and me and my friend were probably the 20th-ish group in line? I would say there were well over 100 people there by 10pm. I'm sure there'll be more this year. Last year was ridiculous with that blizzard that came out of nowhere, this year is looking much nicer but I decided I'm not going because Opening Day/home opener at the stadium doesn't do it for me anymore. It was a bummer last year when the stadium was less than 1/2 full as the lineups were being announced. I'll take the Saturday and Sunday games though. I'll agree with other things I've seen around here about Opening Day/home opener becoming more of a social event for some people than anything else. -
I didn't win either. I'd also really appreciate if anyone decides they aren't going to use their code or whatever it is and would be willing to give it up.

I had some time before night class just now so I threw one together just so we can get some people in and figure out what we want to do. It's head-to-head, and right now I have 9 stat categories and 25 lineup spots, no bench spots though so you won't have to worry about putting in new players each week. I don't really have a preference between head-to-head or points only, maybe someone should just start one up so we can fill up the spots, then kind of decide as a group what we want to do stat category wise? Live draft too of course. I have a pretty busy schedule the next few days but if someone gets one going my e-mail is jlau20@yahoo.com

Same here. I prefer leagues without bench spots so that I don't need to update my roster each day. If anyone starts a more casual one, I'd join. If no one gets one going though I guess I could start one too, provided people give input on what stats and stuff to use.

Parking prices increase (esp. for Opening Day)

It is what it is, the demand is clearly there and people will pay it. Someone who goes to 10 games a year is only going to be paying $20 more for parking. That's not really going to be breaking the bank for anyone who is already going to 10 games I don't think. The reason for the increase is probably because the team is getting better, but because of that it's bringing more people out to the stadium and so parking is going to be more in demand. It goes hand in hand I would think. -

Your favorite baseball videogame of all time?

My two favorite baseball games are RBI Baseball for NES and MVP '05 for Xbox, or anything really. I can get hooked on both for weeks if I'm not careful. -
It's almost like they just gave away Marion. I don't understand it at all. Sure I'll probably look stupid and Shaq will carry them to the finals (I doubt it) but I just don't see how Steve Kerr thought this was a good idea. Decent deal for the Heat, don't think it'll quite get them to the Playoffs though.

I'll also add in that the salesgenie ones were terrible, sure everyone is talking about them, but man were they bad. My favorites were the screaming animals one, was that squirrel scared or what...and the baby buying stock, "I just bought stock...you just watched me buy stock, no big deal."

I noticed everyone is ranking Philly pretty high, as they probably should be, but reading through this the thought just came to my mind of a possible Brewers/Phillies playoff series, it'd be great to see Jenkins make it to the playoffs the same year as the Brewers. Of course, I think we'd all rather see the Brewers come out on top, but it would be a cool story if the Brewers make it and Jenkins gets in there too even with a different team.

I was just thinking how many chickens there must be in the world. As far as I know chickens only have 2 wings, and the way people eat wings, there just has to be a lot of chickens.

I actually got a wristband signed by Bill Castro once at a baseball camp because it's the only thing I really had to get signed that I thought would look OK. It didn't turn out at all, I'd definitely recommend leaving them, cool enough as is.
