  1. Although neither is really "news", Fielder and K-Rod sure are stupid for saying what they said at this point in time. This is the worst possible time for any distractions. They need to focus on getting their offense going again.
  2. I got my SI.com framed cover this past week and it looks really great. I realize 80 bucks is steep for a framed photo but I am very lazy and knew I couldn't make it look as nice as this. And I couldn't. Looks awesome, can't wait to put it up in my office.
  3. Regarding K-Rod... "How do you make this go away?" Well, you stop trying to make this into a big deal - which it is not. Thanks media. I understand the SSP guys need to come up with new things to talk about everyday but this whole thing has been blown up into something it isn't. Yes, K-Rod would prefer to be closing, but he isn't and he's just going to have to deal with it. The end.
  4. Wouldn't most teams have a losing record against teams with a winning record? That's how they got a winning record, by beating a lot of teams.
  5. Yep, Parra did it too. A few seasons ago. http://www.usatoday.com/s...07-08-31-130407553_x.htm
  6. Yeah, I see this a lot and don't understand it. Your hand should be behind the bat as much as possible when you bunt, shouldn't it? I'm surprised people don't break their fingers more often doing it the way Yuni, Greinke, and Morgan do it.
  7. SS is the only realistic spot where we can dramatically improve our offense next year. The problem is I don't know a strong-hitting shortstop that will be available other than Reyes... and I don't want to pay Reyes the money he's going to get. Not sure what we should do there, but it's our best chance to improve the offense next year.
  8. tristarscoop, I'm going to try and eat crab at LP Steamers, thanks for the tip. It has good reviews and the rooftop sounds very cool. laserbomb, we've been to NYC and don't really want to be there with a car, so we're going to skip it this time. Also, it may be hard to get my girlfriend to leave NYC if we go there. While trying to priceline my first two nights of this road trip... I've discovered that we're in Buffalo / Niagara Falls during National Buffalo Wing Fest. What incredible luck! Not! Hotels are ridiculously expensive the night of September 3rd. So lame. Anyone happen to know any cheap but clean hotels/motels in that area? Just thought I'd give it a shot. We may end up getting a private room at a hostel for $80... but that's a lot of money for a hostel. We may also just drive around and call places late at night hoping they'll cut us a break since we'll just be showing up at midnight, sleeping for 8 hours, and leaving in the morning.
  9. You can already buy the SI cover framed or unframed online. I just bought a black framed version. I know the $60 upcharge is a lot for the frame, but I'm lazy and really want this sitting in my office this fall.
  10. With Prince leaving, the only realistic possibilities to upgrade the offense is the SS and maybe 3B position. Shortstops that can hit are hard to find and Reyes isn't going to happen, nor do I want them to pay the money he's going to get... so I'm sure Yuni B's replacement is going to be underwhelming but still a mild upgrade, at least defensively. I want to believe Green has a shot at 3B but they'll probably give it to McGehee again unless he really plays terribly down the stretch this year. I'm really happy with all the other positions and I'm sure they can piece together a decent bullpen after Saito, Hawkins, and Rodriguez leave.
  11. They do work for the Brewers. Fox Sports and the Brewers work together to put out those broadcasts. It's not like this is some impartial 3rd party coming in and broadcasting Brewers games with no affiliation to the Brewers. Why do you think ex-Brewers regularly work the broadcasts? How else do you explain Davey Nelson still having a job?
  12. "That chick has Taylor Swift eyes" This will probably go down as one of the best threads in history.
  13. Anyone been to the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland? And if so, did you just walk up and enter or did you buy your tickets in advance? Thank you for all the information thus far!
  14. Corey Hart was out before Uek even got back from the radio break, heh
  15. I expect to lose today... but the way things have been going for the Brewers lately... you just never know.
  16. Sorta off topic... but does anyone else find it hilarious that Greinke's at bat song is "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"? Man is that perfect.
  17. Morgan seems to think he can get on base without walking. It's worked far longer than I thought it would, but it's been irritating me for awhile now. He has more at-bats than Gomez (263 to 209) and half as many walks as him (14 to 7), just to put it in perspective. He can't hit .320 forever.
  18. Very disappointing to see how unhealthy Rogers has been. He looked so good in late 2010 (I think it was 2010) for the MLB team... I had hopes that he could pitch for us sometime this season.
  19. I've also been converted. I didn't like him for a long time, but he's come up with some big hits for us this year.
  20. 1st half betancourt just batted. Off balance lunge at the first pitch
  21. K-Rod, Morgan, and Fielder could all be considered guys with anger issues.
  22. I noticed that woman back during the Marlins series in Florida. She traveled to Florida to attend and wore a yellow shirt every single game. I have since forth dubbed her "yellow shirt girl". She sits in the same spot and I see her on TV and at the park all the time. She's probably there for 3/4 of the home games. Cute brunette, probably in her 30's, keeps score at the games. She is the only fan I recognize now other than the Doorman and his wife.
  23. Is Niagara Falls easy to navigate? I guess I'm just worried I'm going to get out in that region and not be able to figure out how to get to the good viewpoints in Canada. Is there a lot of signage to guide you through the Canadian border or do I need to figure that stuff out in advance? Also, what wing places do you recommend in Buffalo? I am a picky wing guy, but the place I like I really like a lot. Around here that's Points East and Magoo's. I've read about Bar Bill and Elmo's both of which are in the Buffalo area but not in Buffalo.
