  1. http://beta.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3756550 I knew the Twins wouldn't spend the money on him.
  2. I don't think Macha will be as stupid with Kendall as Yost and Sveum were.
  3. I don't really know much about Morrow besides that he was a reliever who they are trying to turn into a starter and that he's young. Is he a top of the rotation type starter? If he is, I would do the deal.
  4. Good signing. Hopefully his defense can at least be league average.
  5. How can you get an ace pitcher for a uitility player, a busted prospect, and a #5 starter? Jim Hendry should get executive of the year.
  6. What a joke. The Cubs are giving up nothing.

  8. They can have him for a bag of balls as long as they pay the contract.
  9. All these stupid contracts the Astros signed are finally catching up to them.
  10. Are we talking about the same Kelly Johnson that had a .349 OBP last year? If you don't recall, Weeks had a .342 OBP. So we give up Hart for 7 points of OBP? Not a good trade. Not to mention that Weeks still has more upside. Downgrading at one position for a wash at another doesn't make sense to me.
  11. Great stretch for the Badgers. I was at Friday's game and even though they got outshot and didn't play well, they still got the win, and it was encouraging to see that with 2 key players injured we won convincingly on Saturday. Connelly has also been a brick wall in the goal. Very nice work by him, despite our criticism before the season.
  12. Ludwick wasn't the only player that played significantly above expectations last year though for the Cardinals. Molina, Lohse, Ankiel, Schumaker, and Wellenmeyer all played way better than anticipated and had career years. The chances of all of those players putting up the numbers that they did this year is slim in my opinion.
  13. Julio sure won't start the year out as our closer, but if there's an injury or bad performance by the Opening Day closer and Julio pitches well, I could see him entering into that role like Torres did last year.
  14. Knowing the Cardinal's luck with retread players, Greene will turn into a top tier SS this year.
  15. Maybe Melvin is looking at Lamb for the LH side of the platoon. Russell can't stay healthy for a full season anyways so let the Mariners have him.
  16. Well that eliminates the Hardy trade talks.
  17. Whenever a guy can throw in the mid 90's, he's worth giving a shot. The upside is there.
  18. The JS released the schedule yesterday. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/35323019.html
  19. The Angels should be making an offer any time now. http://www.latimes.com/sp...2008nov25,0,5232679.story
  20. If Stupid Bucks live would ever end I could watch this game. Seriously, nobody cares about the Bucks.
  21. Not a bad weekend taking 2 points on the road. Now it's time to play our real rivals in Michigan and Michigan St.
  22. So they're connecting Sabathia signing in New York because Lebron James is going there in 2 years? Boy they really try to find stuff to write about in the baseball world these days.
  23. I think the Big Ten has a good shot in the Big Ten/ACC challenge this year if MSU can pull it off against UNC. The matchups look decent, but the ACC always seems to find a way to win so I won't get my hopes up.
  24. I think it's a good problem to have when recruits decommit because the current players on the team are too good for them to get ice time. The Badgers have a lot of quality players that are starting to get their act together. Although, you are right that it could be damaging in the future when Wisconsin develops the reputation of recruiting for quantity and not quality.
  25. I'm going to the game tonight. I haven't seen much of the Bucks this year so it should be interesting. I spend most of my time watching the Lakers dominate out West.
