  1. In the end, had CC gone to anyone other than the Cubs (or Cardinals) I don't believe we'd see such disdain for the guy. It's a kick to the crotch, a punch to the gut, etc. that he chose the Cubs. We pretty much knew he was leaving, and I don't remember one poster here even thinking for a second it would be to the freaking Cubs. When I first saw the news, I truly thought is was a joke, no way was he leaving for the Cubs, lol
  2. Ask our resident Cubs fan, Matthew Trueblood....
  3. So he allowed it to be public that he was meeting with the Mets and Cleveland, but felt the need to keep it private to meet with the Cubs? Why is that do you think? Is it because he knew damn well what it would do to his public image to even take an interview with the Cubs much less actually go there to manage. He knew that every Brewers fan in the country would hate him for making the transition to Chicago, knew it was a dick move, yet he did it anyway, in private, keeping it from everyone for fear of the backlash he would 100% be receiving. He deserves all the hate coming his way, from MA, the fans and the media. I'd like to see some truthful interviews with the players, interviews where they actually say what's on their mind, not what is politically correct.
  4. Even if that is true, as a matter of respect, CC should have told MA what the offer was, even if he knew damn well MA wasn't going to match it. It's just something that should have been done. The more I read into all this, the more I am convinced that CC just plain wanted out of Milwaukee.
  5. CC is dead to me. There are 2 teams, TWO TEAMS that he could have went to that I wouldn't have wished him luck. The Cubs and the Cardinals. That's it, those two teams. Every other team, had he taken the money, I'd have been fine with. I actually believe that him leaving won't be too detrimental to our future. I believe that we were in need of a new direction, and that CC really had done all he could in Milwaukee. I believe that what he was doing was growing stale, and that a change was needed. So the fact that he left really doesn't bother me that much. But the Cubs? The Freaking CUBS? For that, I will never forgive him. He knows it was a dick move to move to the Cubs of all teams, but he did it anyway. Screw him.
  6. Just like Sabathia...
  7. SNY.tv’s Andy Martino reports the Mets are close to making a decision on their next manager. Martino adds that Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza, who has also interviewed this offseason with the Guardians and Giants, has emerged as a very strong candidate. He also notes that the Mets’ top candidate, former Brewers manager Craig Counsell, is expected to make a decision within the next few days. It sounds like Counsell and Mendoza are the clear frontrunners, but it’s within the realm of possibility that both wind up taking jobs somewhere else, which would throw a wrench into New York’s plans.
  8. Someone is going to take the risk and pay him 20 million on a 2 year deal I'd bet on it. When healthy, he is good, taking the risk he can stay healthy for 2 years could be worth it to a team with deeper pockets.
  9. So I'm assuming this means the Tigers are going to pay Canha to play with them in 2024?
  10. ummmm, are you new to Brewers fandom? They absolutely would and have lost players over an extra 3 million dollars. C'mon man.
  11. ...and to charge fans an arm and a leg in the process...
  12. Interesting, why do you think one has to do with the other. We know we aren't going to have Woodruff, odds are Burnes is gone as well. That leaves 2 holes to fill at the very least. I'm really hoping we get Miley back, so our rotation will probably look like this today if that happens: Peralta/Miley/Gasser/Houser/Rea I have almost zero faith that Ashby is going to contribute as a starter this year, who else does that leave? No way we can afford to not have Houser back unless we get another arm in a trade or as a free agent.
  13. Went to Killers of the Flower Moon this afternoon. Good movie, but really long at 3 hours and 27 minutes. I think the hype may have outperformed the movie, but it is surely well worth the time to see.
  14. I'm predicting that MA opens up the purse strings, and keeps Counsell on board. I do not believe, not even for a second, that CC wants to coach anyplace other than Milwaukee. Using other teams as leverage makes since monetarily, but I truly believe that his heart is with the Brewers. Him testing the waters to see what he is worth on the open market is all he is doing.
  15. Well, there is always the chance of an injury that derails his career, which is really the only reason to accept a contract like that. Guarantee 100 million or risk it all with an injury. I bet Woodruff wishes he had done something with his contract before his injury.
  16. Great game last night! All this talk of watered down playoffs, blah blah blah doesn't really matter when games like that one are played! I hope the rest of the series is as good as game 1!
  17. Yelich is the issue to me. He isn't going to stick in the outfield much longer, and in reality, doesn't provide anything defensively that the others don't. It seems obvious to me that now is the time to either move him to 1B (something I've only seen fans suggest) or move him to full time DH, only playing LF when it's really necessary, possibly due to injuries to the young guys. Chourio IS going to push the issue, maybe it won't be in spring training, maybe it won't be until May, but he is coming, and once that happens, decisions will have to be made. I'd rather they prepare now by realizing that Yelich is not going to remain in the OF for long, and now is the time to get him used to that idea.
  18. I might feel stupid, but what is a Randy?
  19. Grissom has a ton of red flags if you ask me. Maybe a change in scenery would help him, but I'm not sure he is a guy I'd be targeting.
  20. Telling me to calm down is condescending, which is normal tone for you. I'm not worked up, just pointing out that we have been in a World Series, which you seemed to have forgotten in your post above. You can have the last word, as usual...
  21. Your post said nothing about winning the world series, you said first world series. We have appeared in one, which makes your post wrong no matter how you want to spin it.
  22. Regardless, we have been to the World Series, so if we make it to another one in the next few tears, or anytime after, it would be the second appearance. It's freakishly ridiculous to abandon that fact.
  23. 1st World Series? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm...
  24. Ok, so about that rebuild... 😉
