  1. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he would have rather played with us and had a shot at the playoffs, than play with the White Sox, who are crap... I'm shocked we couldn't have ponied up 3 million for this guy... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- White Sox signed Mike Clevinger to a one-year deal. The 33-year-old’s contract is worth $3 million. He’ll be added to the 40-man roster but start his season in the Arizona Complex League. Clevinger posted a 3.77 ERA and 110/40 K/BB ratio in 131 1/3 innings with the White Sox last season. He’ll build up in the complex league and be a part of Chicago’s rotation in the next few weeks.
  2. Why not just piggyback Junis with someone else? He doesn't have to start games, he could come in in the 5th or 6th... I mean, if all he can do is 4 innings every start, we need to plan for that, and a good plan is NOT to have the bullpen pitch 5 innings every time the guy is starting... Not sure what the answer is, but I don't get paid to figure such things out. The bullpen is going to be overworked from opening day until the final game of the season if we don't come up with some kind of plan for our starting pitching. That won't end well.
  3. Look at Grienke's numbers the past 2 years. He's done.
  4. This is a bit surprising, but good for them if they can get it in on Friday. I'm still expecting a doubleheader on Saturday or Sunday...
  5. Dinelson Lamet tossed a clean ninth inning with two strikeouts to record the save against the Giants on Wednesday. With Evan Phillips getting the day off after recording a save on Tuesday, the Dodgers went to Lamet in the ninth inning with a one-run lead against the Giants. He struck out two in a perfect inning for his first career save.
  6. Blades of Glory - Kept this one, just a lot of funny stuff going on in this movie. I don't remember it being this funny, so it's a keeper. Blazing Saddles - Need I say more? Just a classic that could never be made today... I'm not even sure if young people who have never seen it would even think it's funny. Anyone that is uptight for any reason at all just shouldn't watch this movie. KEEPER! Black Hawk Down - Intense movie... Keeper.
  7. In the end, I just want them to win at least one more game that Coun....I mean the Cubs.
  8. The struggles of ex-players are real...
  9. Curious why Hudson wasn't an option today... In reality, I don't think Payamps should have been an option today, I mean, we are going to have to rest guys, no matter who they are. Our BP is plenty big enough that we shouldn't always have to rely on the same guys every single day. We simply can't be overusing guys this early in the season.
  10. My bet is that he has a higher ceiling than Yount, will he reach it is the question. I have seen nothing yet to tell me the hype is not real!
  11. Well, Murphy worked pretty closely with CC for years. I'm not going to be really surprised if Murhpy runs the BP similar to what CC did. I'm hoping he makes his own statement, and we don't just have CCII on our hands.
  12. The first of 500 career homers for the kid! NICE!
  13. Forgot to mention Billy Madison. Kept it, but like Big Daddy, could have dumped it. Still enjoy it so kept it.
  14. lol I don't own the third one, saw it, thought it was dumb, and didn't add it to the collection.
  15. Back to the thinning of the heard. Watched both Bill and Ted movies last week, and though there are some pretty funny lines and scenes throughout them both, I don't feel the need to see them again. Dumped them both.
  16. "Poor Things" was enjoyable as hell! I went because there wasn't anything else I wanted to see, and I left pretty glad I saw it. It's kind of a mess at times, but I found myself drawn to the entire storyline, and Emma Stone was unbelievable!!! Tons of gratuities sex scenes, but in all honesty, they were pretty much needed for the storyline, and done in sometimes pretty humorous ways. Might buy this on dvd to add to the collection...
  17. The senior fans are going to love this...
  18. I don't think anyone said that every team with a roof or warm weather should start out with a 2 week homestand. I'm talking about opening day series only. Surely, most teams would be happy to play where they know they will be playing (roof or warm weather) rather than having a good shot at being snowed, rained, or frozen out of opening day games.
  19. Good luck with both!
  20. Why doesn't MLB just make sure that all stadiums with a roof host on opening day?
  21. 10 years for a 28 year old catcher? ----------------------------------------- Will Smith and the Dodgers are finalizing a 10-year, $140 million extension, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. It’s a deal that will likely keep the 28-year-old in Los Angeles for the rest of his career. Smith was drafted by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft and will benefit from having the like of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman hit in front of him this season. Source: Jeff Passan
  22. Maybe Frelick, but not Wiemer and Mitchell at this point. I'm guessing Frelick could bring in a pretty decent pitching prospect, but we can't afford to move him now anyway.
