  1. Gary Sánchez suffered a hand injury during a workout which was why the deal with the Brewers stalled. An interesting wrinkle into the Gary Sánchez signing. Last season, Sánchez suffered a wrist injury in early September and ended his season. However, he told Brewers beat reporter Todd Rosiak that it wasn’t the wrist that held up the deal with the club; it was a hand injury that he suffered several weeks ago during a workout. This doesn’t seem to be all that concerning since Sánchez was cleared for baseball activities, however, it sheds light on the delay of the signing. Source: Todd Rosiak
  2. All I know is that I like 3 million plus incentives WAY better than 7 million guaranteed. This way he has to play well to get the $. Love that!
  3. The post I am referring to said something like 14-17 million in 2025, that was on top of a salary for 2024. Too lazy to go find it. The current deal has a mutual option for 2026, which was unknown at the time.
  4. I was one of those schmucks, I tuned out for 2 full seasons (guess what, I didn't miss it....AT ALL! In fact, it was pretty damn fun to spend Sundays and the other random nights not glued to the TV), until Brady signed with the Bucs, and that brought me back.
  5. Wait, so Bally will still carry the Brewers this season?
  6. I don't remember who, but someone here thought he would get 15 to 17 million in 2025. lol I'm not sure anyone else agreed, but that was pretty far off the mark. No one predicted the 26 mutual buyout though.
  7. I would bet that it was the Cardinals, as I thought I saw a rumor that they had at least talked to him.
  8. Keep telling yourself that man, I'll just sit here with a big bowl of popcorn and watch the Cardinals find their "Coupe de Ville Hidin' at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box." (Extra points to anyone getting that reference) I hope you're right, I hope they suck butt for another season, but I wouldn't bet on it. I think the Reds are going to be the team that makes a lot of noise, and in the end, if it isn't us, they should be in the best shape to take the division.
  9. According to Jeeho Yoo of the Yonhap News, Hyun Jin Ryu signed with Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization. The Hanwha Eagles have said nothing is confirmed, but is looking likely Jin Ryu will return to his former team in the KBO. According to Naver Sports, the deal is worth a little under $13 million over 4 years. Jin Ryu pitched for the Eagles from 2006-2012 and has said in the past he would finish his baseball career with the team. In his 7 seasons with the Eagles, Jin Ryu posted a 2.80 ERA, 1.15 WHIP over 181 starts. The 36-year-old lefty, who came back from Tommy John surgery last season, was unable to find a deal in MLB after spending the last 4 seasons with the Blue Jays. Last season, he made 11 starts and posted a 3.46 ERA, 1.29 WHIP across 52 innings. A reunion with the Hanwha Eagles, the team that began his professional career, seems pretty fitting. 10. Too bad we can't see more than one swing. I truly hope this is the direction he is now taking, but wonder why it took this long for someone to recognize that the old swing wasn't going to work with MLB pitching. Having Wiemer meet his potential this year would be a HUGE plus moving forward.
  11. Maybe he wanted to return to the Brewers all along. How do we know if he had gotten any other offers? Maybe he had more than one, and chose to stay in Milwaukee where he is comfortable. We simply don't know.
  12. Needle moving signing for sure.
  13. Just another movie to add to the Super Hero over-kill... I'm pretty much done with them all. I want to go to a movie tomorrow, but don't see a single one that I have any interest in seeing. This happens a lot. Kind of sad that I want to spend my money, but there isn't anything to spend it on.
  14. I simply will not count the Cardinals out until they are mathematically out. Too much history here to act like they won't have a say in the division before all is said and done.
  15. I truly hope that Murphy has a different take on line-up composition and a lot of other things having to do with playing time, etc. I think we truly needed a new view on things.
  16. Ghostbusters : Afterlife I'm late to the party on this one, but wife and I watched it tonight for the first time. Light year's better than the female version they put out a few years ago. Not one mention of that movie or those characters in Afterlife, so I'm assuming the studio would like us all to forget it existed, and rightfully so. Anyway, enjoyed this one quite a bit. Having the original guys make appearances in the film was an ingenious touch. Just tickled me to see them in those old roles again. Hopefully they will be back for the new one coming out this year.
  17. Oh man, if he goes to the Cards or Cubs, that will suck butt.
  18. That is debatable... (and has been debated to no end on this board, so I won't bother)
  19. From what I read, it sure doesn't look like it.
  20. Good for him, I hope he mashes his way into the line-up!
  21. Simple fact of the matter is this. We could have a "decent" rotation, and I use that word as a positive, but it's going to take a lot of things to fall into place to hit decent. We'll have to have a couple guys pitch better than they previously have in their careers. We'll have to have some guys who always get hurt stay relatively healthy. We'll probably need a couple guys to have career years. We'll need some unproven guys to step up and meet the challenge at the MLB level. We'll 1000% need Peralta to take the next step into ACE country! I see so many things that can go wrong, so I just can't get warm and fuzzy feelings from our rotation as it sits. We are not going to put a powerhouse offense on the field (praying we can be league average), so our pitching is going to have to step up if we have a shot at good things. I'm not too concerned about the bullpen, but our starting rotation has more question marks and uncertainties than things to make me giddy with optimism. That's where I stand, but can't wait for this season to start to see what happens!!
