  1. I'm sure this "investigation" had a lot of top MLB people, lawyers, etc, doing their best to make sure this doesn't fall negatively on Ohtani in any way. I doubt we'll ever know the real story, but imo, this has been spun and fixed up to the best of their ability. From the get go, I think the outcome was predetermined, it was just a matter of how they were going to spin it and reach that outcome. No way MLB was going to take a hit like this, so it has been fixed up and sold to the public. I wonder what the interpreter got out of this financially and what kind of reduced sentence he was guaranteed for helping the outcome? I am not saying that my opinion is fact, but this entire thing is fishy.
  2. Any concerns about O'Rae's size? He and Lara both are tiny by major league standards. (Both listed at 5'9" but if they are 5'8" I wouldn't be surprised) Robert Moore was also really small and we shipped him out... I realize there is a guy named Altuve (5'6") who is small and awesome, but that isn't typical when it comes to small guys panning out...
  3. Trading Wilken, who appears to finally be a legit 3B prospect, isn't going to happen. This kid will be playing 3B for the Brewers by the all star break, not on the trading block... Sheesh.
  4. Went and saw Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire yesterday. Great movie theater flick! Entertaining the entire way through. Felt the gay undertones between Phoebe and the ghost were completely unnecessary, but that is todays Hollywood. Well worth seeing if anyone is on the fence and saw the last one...
  5. Why not give Carlos Hernandez a shot at a start? Is it a service time issue?
  6. True, but that was just a terrible time to learn that lesson.
  7. As fans, most of us knew this from the get go. This isn't any kind of shocking news. They failed to get any serious inning eating type arms in the off season, and it sure looks like the bullpen is going to pay the price.
  8. It isn't about in comparison to other stadiums, it's about the bottom line. Just because it costs a family of four $500 (made up number) to go to a Yankees game, and $250 to go to a Brewers game, that doesn't make it "value" it just makes it cheaper than the Yankees. Paint it any way you want, the bottom line is that the price to go see a game live is getting out of hand, and a lot of people are going to less games than they used to... I am not the only one. Lower the ticket prices, more people will fill the stadium giving the Brewers more chances to sell parking and their overpriced stadium food and make more money in the long run. High ticket prices means fewer come to games, which means they sell less overpriced parking and stadium food.
  9. What are the chances that none of Wiemer, Mitchell or Frelick will ever amount to anything more than average MLB players? Heck, all 3 could end up being below average. I know, they are young, still learning, injured, etc, but damn...
  10. Brewers must think they are still in this one...
  11. Turn the game off when we were down 8-0. Turn it back on and score is 6-9. LOL That's what I get for giving up.
  12. I agree, but the throw should have been better. Not excusing Hoskins, but I'm not excusing Ortiz either.
  13. What is going on with Ortiz? I thought he was a defensive wizard?
  14. Ashby against the Reds offense doesn't bode well for success. Prove me wrong AA!
  15. Curious, where did Wilken, Brown Jr., and Dunn go?
  16. I used to go to 8-10 games a year (pre-pandemic), up until about 4 years ago. Now I get to one, MAYBE 2. Can't stand paying the prices for food, tickets, parking, and gas to get to a game. I'm to the point that I find it a lot more enjoyable watching from the couch at home on the big screen. lol Don't have to make the hour and 45 minute drive one way, fight the crowds, or pay the stupid prices. Timber Rattler games are going up too. From parking, concessions and tickets, it is no longer family affordable fun, which is how they used to market themselves. Family of 4 probably costs at least $100 if you plan to eat while there, way more if you buy them anything in the team store. Not long ago, probably would have cost $60 for the same thing. (tickets, eating and parking) Still going to a ton of the games, in fact, they have benefitted from me not going to Brewers games, I choose to spend that money at the t-rats games... It is all "choice" though. Either you go to Brewers games, pay the ridiculous prices or you don't. No one is making anyone do anything, but it sucks that the cost prohibits a lot of people from going to games these days.
  17. I was at the T-Rats game today. Cold and windy, but got the W. There must have been like 200 people there today. One of the least attended games I've ever been to. At least the rain held off until minutes after it ended.
  18. Yup, he's our guy, taking up a spot on the roster that someone else could be using. It will take us into May to figure out he is 100% not an answer. If he's playing every day, I'd rather have Black taking up those at bats. Don't want Black playing DH all the time though, he needs to be in the field.
  19. Yeah, Strider may have the same fate... If that is the case, and the pitch clock is causing so many elbow/arm injuries, why isn't this being addressed, and why did they shorten it even more this season? I like the quicker pace of the games, but is this really worth it?
  20. Bieber getting Tommy John... Wow, that came out of nowhere.
  21. I don't think it was wise to go to Payamps again. You can't pitch the same dudes over and over and not expect this to happen. Use other guys please, or our bullpen will be worn out by May.
  22. Judging by the comment of another poster in another thread, since none of the other teams in MLB have signed him, there must be a reason. I guess that means that any player not signed yet is completely useless. Maybe the White Sox will add him too?
