  1. The only way he is not extended, imo, is that he decides to step away. He has a free pass as long as he wants to manage in Milwaukee. That can either be good, or bad, depending on your opinion of Craig Counsell.
  2. Negatively overreact? Just curious, are we supposed to do cartwheels for a signing like this? The fact we even have a thread with almost 20 posts is amazing to me. I read it happened, then dismissed it from my mind completely, not even giving it a second thought until this thread popped up here. I had no reaction, certainly not positive, but not negative either. Just another blah move that means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
  3. That sure doesn't paint him in a positive light. I can't imagine any locker room is going to appreciate his type on the team. I hope we didn't just get a negative influence on the locker room. I don't think we can afford that. I doubt a guy like him can suddenly flick a switch and become a great teammate. I don't know if we even have a guy on this team that can turn him around. Pretty disappointing really.
  4. Include Houser or Lauer in trade ideas... or both if we get the right guy(s) back!
  5. Include Houser or Lauer in trade ideas... or both if we get the right guy(s) back!
  6. Unrelated, I'd like to see more posters use the like button on things they agree with or enjoy. It seems there are a handful of posters using this feature, and a ton who never take he time to use it.
  7. In theory, that is a GREAT idea, however, when you block someone, especially someone who posts a lot, it makes the entire thread seem choppy and out of context.
  8. Not a chance in hell Toronto trades Manoah for Burnes. Why would that make sense for them? Why would they trade a younger Ace who they have under control for another ace that they will only have for two seasons? Also, I want nothing to do with Biggio, a guy who lives off his last name.
  9. LOL true. I didn't realize he was a starter, figured he was a reliever.
  10. There is already other threads for this topic.
  11. Has anyone invested 3 hours in seeing Babylon? I've seen the trailors many many times and I still don't really know what it is about. lol I have a crush on Margot Robbie, which is really the only reason I am considering going. Anyone?
  12. To be honest, I'm tired of the Correa drama. I hope something gets done soon so I don't have to hear about it any longer.
  13. How big is that place? I would think it will be a packed house.
  14. I will be shocked if Ashby isn't in our rotation on opening day. I think they will limit his innings this year for certain, but he is going to be a starter, and not a bullpen guy. He'll be stretched out as a starter from day one imo. Houser is the guy that needs to go to the bullpen. He has had success in the role in the past, and it seems to me that he is best in that role. I just hope they don't mess with Ashby bouncing back and forth in any way in 2023. Let the kid do what he does.
  15. I mean, at the very least, it is just starter depth, as we all know we won't make it through the full season with 6 starters. Miley is a good guy to have at the end of the rotation.
  16. Probably just starter depth. I wouldn't be shocked to see Houser as a long relief guy. I think there is a zero chance that Ashby isn't starting this year from day one. Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Lauer, Ashby and Miley, with Houser to the bullpen. Another interesting idea could be Ashby and Houser piggybacking starts.
  17. He has to have more upside than Kelly...
  18. I would bet big time that there will be a lot more teams than just the Mets that are willing to sign him for the league minimum.
  19. It's really too bad that Small hasn't taken that next step to be an actual option for the 2023 rotation. I had high hopes for him while he was in Appleton, but he just hasn't turned that corner yet.
  20. Just another 5.5 ERA guy to add to the collection. Meh
  21. The sports world no longer cares if players have character and are morally set, they just want the money, the exposure, and I believe that people want and like villians! I used to root against guys like Bonds, Alomar, Ray Lewis, and all the rest of the pieces of crap out there, and still do. I'm not against bringing Bauer on board though. If he truly wants another shot at a career, he'll mind his business and not screw it up again, if he is too far gone, then he'll mess up and he'll be cut. We've had our share of guys who have knocked women around, DUI, etc. To take the moral high ground now is just hypocritical. If he were to become a Brewer, I'd root like hell for him, if he signs elsewhere (and there is a 100% chance he will) I will root like hell against him. That is where I sit for now.
