  1. LOL I do that too, however, if everyone does that, then there seems to be no actual safer place on a door that no one ever touches.
  2. In a way I can't articulate, this sounds just so wrong to me. Why? You get discounts on car insurance for a high grade point average (students), safe driving record (everyone else), hell, don't females get cheaper car insuramce than males just because they are female? (males have less accidents but the accidents they have typically cause more damage because of our risk taking stupidity....or so I have heard) Why must we tiptoe around obesity? There are discounts for certain companies if you don't smoke, why not discounts for being at a healthy weight? Why should discounts for certain behaviors not be a factor in health insurance?
  3. The problem is, "pretty good about stuff" isn't really enough. Everyone claims to be pretty good about stuff, as long as it isn't an inconvieneince to them... I do know this, this pandemic has made me realize just how weak we are as humans, and how very few people are willing to do what's right for the greater good.
  4. I would think Hader would be involved for any trade to get Snell.
  5. Was Smoak or Healy? I am simply saying he is worth looking into. I think you are going deeper than you need to.
  6. Is this a serious post or was this meant to be in blue?
  7. He's a hell of a lot better than anything we threw out there last year... If he's cheap, why not? Is there going to be anything better out there in the dumpster we'll be shopping in?
  8. Yes please... Orioles designated 1B/DH Renato Nunez for assignment. Hmm. This is one of the more puzzling moves of the day. The 26-year-old slugger has led the Orioles in home runs each of the last two seasons, slugging 31 long balls in 2019 and 12 more during the abbreviated 2020 campaign. He slashed .256/.324/.492 with 12 homers and 31 RBI over 52 games during the 2020 campaign. The Orioles needed to free up space on the 40-man roster to protect players from the Rule-5 draft, but inexplicably chose to hold onto the corpse of Chris Davis instead of Nunez. The Orioles could still attempt to trade him in the next few days, and the team acquiring him would control him through arbitration for the next four seasons. Nov 20, 2020, 9:24 PM ET
  9. Development, no... Timing of the announcement is the question.
  10. agreed. He sucks, and we don't need that many catchers on the 40 man...
  11. Making it even more curious why it was announced a couple days AFTER the election... They knew way before election day, yet waited? lol Everything is political, especially in an election year. Has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the amount of time and preparation required to have all of the logistics in place. I can assure you this is exactly what happens with all drug launches, pre/post-COVID/elections/etc., and is exactly what happened with the half-dozen or so drug launches that I have been a part of. Everything is planned well in advance, from when the Phase 3 data will likely be available to when they will likely be ready to submit to the FDA to when the FDA will likely review so that they are ready to flip the switch and start shipping within hours of FDA approval. No, they didn't know, they had to wait for the data to come in, but given the urgency and the number of lives that are at stake they had to be ready to hit the ground running as soon as the data was available. Had they not been ready when the data was available, they would have been roasted. ummm k then... So it was pure coincidence that this all happened 48 hours or so after the election? I don't buy it. Obviously, had this news broken before election day, it would have been a big plus for the Trump campaign, and possibly detrimental to Biden. I don't believe it was coincidental, but people will believe what they want to believe.
  12. not necessarily. the 2014 rule 4 draft pick still could be on the 2021 brewers 26-man roster all year as a rule 6 player if he's selected by the club in the 2020 rule 5 draft. The A's signed him...
  13. Feliciano was a must, but carrying that many ctachers and losing out on some guys we need to protect is iffy at best.
  14. Athletics signed RHP Trey Supak to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Supak, 24, put up some pretty good numbers in the minors with the Brewers, but they removed him from their 40-man roster in September. He'll look for a fresh start in Oakland. 15. Making it even more curious why it was announced a couple days AFTER the election... They knew way before election day, yet waited? lol Everything is political, especially in an election year.
  16. Ken Davidoff of the New York Post reports that DJ LeMahieu wants to stay in the New York area. Davidoff also mentions that the Blue Jays are interested in LeMahieu, but are at a "geographical" disadvantage. He also writes that the most likely scenario is that the MVP finalist re-signs with the Yankees, and that it's unknown how much interest the Mets have in him at this point. After hitting .364 with a 1.011 OPS over 50 games in 2020, LeMahieu shouldn't be lacking in suitors, but for now it appears to be a three-team race for the 32-year-old. 17. with good reason...
  18. Andy Martino of SNY.tv hears that DJ LeMahieu is more likely to re-sign with the Yankees than he is to sign with the Mets. Some speculated following Robinson Cano's PED suspension that the Mets might now target LeMahieu to be their new second baseman. They'll surely at least kick the tires, but putting Jeff McNeil at the keystone seems to be the likelier scenario. As for LeMahieu and the Yankees, Martino writes that the two sides "want a reunion to happen" but have "not yet agreed on what a fair contract should look like." Martino believes that LeMahieu ultimately will return to the Bronx and it will be the Yanks' "most significant free agent expenditure this year." RELATED: New York Mets SOURCE: SNY.tv Nov 18, 2020, 5:39 PM ET LOL yeah, he will be a Brewer when the Yankees are still interesrted. We have 0% chance of him becoming a Brewer once the Yankees are involved again. *sigh*
  19. This might be the end of Cano. At 38 and declining quickly, he is all but washed-up. I'm sure the Mets are smiling because they save $23M. They still owe him another 48 million for 2022 and 2023 though...
  20. Someone would outbid us, I think this has about a 1% chance of happening... If teams are going to throw 11 million at Dre Smyly, DJ will be able to get that plus some... Sorry bfnet, it isn't going to happen.
  21. Robert Murray of Fansided reports that the Brewers "intend to listen" on reliever Josh Hader this offseason. The Brewers have listened on Hader before and it only makes sense they'll continue to do so as he gets more expensive. He's due a raise from the $4.1 million he made this year in arbitration. Hader, 26, posted a 3.79 ERA with 13 saves and a 31/10 K/BB ratio over 19 innings this past season. Murray hears that the Yankees, Dodgers, Padres and Mets had interest in Hader in the past, though it's unclear what sort of market he'll have this offseason. SOURCE: Fansided Nov 16, 2020, 3:05 PM ET
  22. That makes zero sense... They don't have anything better to spend 11 million on?
  23. But is Archer any better than the other crap we already have? Why pay extra for Adrian Houser when we already have Adrian Houser on the team? Archer just isn't an increase in talent worth the 5 million it might cost to get him.
  24. I see no chance that we will have a payroll above 90 million. I think our final payroll will look more like the $85 million, and that is max.
  25. BLM, Kneeling for the anthem, just to name a couple...
