  1. Probably not a chance in hell he will become a Brewer. For one year, the cost wouldn't make sense for us. I'm sure if we really wanted, we could put a package together of their choice, but it would cripple us in the future.
  2. Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that players want to keep the universal designated hitter for 2021, but owners want them to agree to keep the expanded playoffs for the 2021 season in exchange. Passan adds that "players don't find that to be a particularly equitable trade" and that "some executives believe the universal DH will stick around, even if the MLBPA doesn't agree to the expanded playoffs." A decision on whether to keep the DH in the National League next season would seemingly have to be made relatively early in the offseason, as teams need to plan accordingly. 3. USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Indians "intend to trade" Francisco Lindor this offseason. Nightengale cites his source as "several rival teams." Lindor projects to command about $21 million in 2021 via salary arbitration and is currently set to become a free agent leading into 2022. Cleveland is looking to cut costs this winter -- see the Brad Hand decision -- and will want to get a sizable package of talent in return for Lindor before he moves too close to the open market. The 26-year-old shortstop is a career .285/.346/.488 hitter and has averaged 29 home runs and 21 stolen bases for every 162 games played through his first six major league seasons. He's won two Gold Gloves and been named an American League All-Star four times. SOURCE: Bob Nightengale on Twitter Nov 5, 2020, 11:30 AM ET
  4. I had to stop listening to Pandora there were so many ads. My sons complained about the amount of ads on YouTube. Don't fool yourself that it is only TV ads. Spotify was pushing a lot of ads too, the underlying message was to vote for Biden, even though they didn't outright say it.
  5. No matter what changes we make or don't make, there are always apologists for members of the coaching staff. People complained about Haines all season, yet when the off season hit, some of the people that came to his aid were the same ones slamming him through out the season. Same with the Windmill... Anyone who watches the Brewers on a regular basis knows, absolutely KNOWS that the guy makes a lot of bad decisions coaching 3B. Yet here we are, people defending him. Just the way it is.
  6. lol I wish you had waited until more people commented here before posting this...
  7. Which I find to be very scary. If he implodes in the first half, or is even just so-so, we will get nothing. I'd much rather trade him off in the off season, depending on what we get obviously.
  8. The names in this thread that we are willing to settle for is just gross... *gag* I'd take Santana on a 1 year deal though.
  9. I wonder if he is just done? If the virus is still full strength in February/March (which it likely will be), why would we think he'll come back in 2021? I really wish we had stayed away from Garcia, and it would look pretty nice having a gold glover Grisham on this squad in 2021 to replace Cain. But hey, we got Urias, who couldn't even pass up Arcia offensively.
  10. I wouldn't mind the T-Rats becoming High A. Probably better baseball to watch, but I do like watching the players when they are still pretty new to the system.
  11. This is 100% true. My Mom had a blood clot near her heart, needed to be airlifted to UW Hospital, but there was no place for her, the place was full. She ended up waiting almost 36 hours for surgery that under normal circumstances, would have been performed immediately upon the discovery. She ended up being transferred by ambulance instead, from the Southwest part of the state, to Madison. It was scarey, but it all turned out fine... Happy to hear everything turned out ok. thanks, all is well...
  12. Might as well lock this thread down, 47.5 million? Not a chance in hell.
  13. My district was dangerously close to shutting down for two weeks right before Halloween. We had 5 teachers out the 2 weeks prior, and anymore would have meant that we were virtual. 5 was our max we could cover for since we have zero subs. Subs have decided it wasn't worth it to come back in the schools for the $ they make. So all we have is other teachers to cover for other teachers during their one prep time per day. It was horrible. All 5 teachers are back today, so we are back to full strength. I'm pretty sure that we will stay in person 5 days a week, but there are 2 things that could change that. 1. We have an excessive number of teachers quarantined/waiting for test results/positive test results 2. Evers shuts us down

  15. The fact that Gyrko looked like such a stud in our line-up is just a reflection as to how pathetic our offense was in 2020. It was so bad that Gyroko looked like our best offensive player.
  16. Yellowstone! Finally got around to watching season 1, I am not disappointed, it is freaking great! I am 6 episodes in and I can't quit watching...
  17. So you want to break the bank for a SS, then move him to 3B? This is way too risky for a team like the Brewers in so many ways. If we were going to spend that kind of cash, I'd rather it be for a proven guy who is actually a 3B. A move like this could handcuff us for years if it doesn't pay off. There is just no way for us to know what we were getting until he suits up. If spending, it should be for a 1B, 3B, or starting pitcher, not an unknown guy who has played in a league eqaul to AA. Hard pass.
  18. 1 year at 4 - 5 million? Grab him up ASAP if that is his price.
  19. it's also loaded with an insane amount of sugar...
  20. whew! Until he is signed somewhere else, I don't think we are completely out of the woods. sadly, I think you are right.
  21. Did it last year, and the result was pathetic. I find it almost impossible to look forward to another season of the same... crap.
  22. I think we could absorb a Hader loss with the rest of the bullpen. Yes, it would suck to lose him, but we have the arms to be fine without him imo. We can not, and will not compete if we lose Burnes or Woodruff. They will not be moved.
