  1. Francisco Rodriguez recently told Venezuelan journalist Guillermo Arcay that he is still hoping to return to the major leagues. “That is the goal,” said Rodriguez, who is 38 years old and hasn't appeared in a game at the MLB level since June 2017. "In spite of the fact that I’m seen as being advanced in age, that is the goal. The injuries and the ups and downs have slowed me down. But I have the conviction, the hunger and I am completely sure I can accomplish it." K-Rod currently ranks fourth on the all-time saves leaderboard with 437 -- behind only Mariano Rivera (652), Trevor Hoffman (601), and Lee Smith (478) -- but it would be downright shocking at this point to see him climb any further up that list. Even if he reaches the majors again, it would likely be in a low-leverage role. Source: MLive.com May 18, 2020, 5:45 PM ET
  2. That is how I took it, I'm not sure how anyone can be offended by what you said.
  3. Yup, this... Not to say Braun can't hurt himself as a DH, he seems delicate at times, so it is entirely possible he still hits the DL a couple times during the season, but it should at the very least cut down his chances. Someone said it above, Braun DH majority of games, if not all, Garcia, Cain and Yelich cover the OF with Gamel covering on needed days off. Looks good to me.
  4. My wife and I just got tested. Appleton has a drive through testing site that anyone can use. I went Wednesday, it was a 2.5 to 3 hour wait, so I left. we went today, it was 15 minutes total and we were on our way. Very easy. You don't have to have symptoms, or known contact to get tested. If you want to be tested, you just drive on up. The only reason we did it was because I had a pounding headache on Sunday, then Monday and Tuesday, my head felt pretty spaced out, hard to focus, etc. Same thing happened to me a couple years ago, so I'm not convinced it is corona in any way. My wife came down with cold symptoms on Wednesday, so she went too. My wife convinced me that we should go, I wouldn't have done it if she wasn't so adamant. My only exposure to anyone the past 3 weeks was one trip to school, the building was empty. (that was Thursday, May 7th)Talked to a couple cleaning ladies for a minute or so, did the social distancing thing, talked to my principal for 20 minutes, same thing, social distancing. If I got it, I believe it was from the damn McDonalds drive-thru that same day. We have not been getting take out as I am not convinced in any manner that that isn't the perfect way to get it. Anyone working in those places could have it and spread it to countless people. My wife grocery shopped on Tuesday at Aldis. Wore a mask, took all measures humanly possible to not interact or be in anyone's space. It will be interesting to see our results. We have done a super job of being away from all others, so much so that we have been told we are being maybe a little too paranoid. If we got it, then it must be really easy to get, unless I was doomed as soon as I decided to go against all common sense and visit that damn McDonalds drive-thru. I have a couple of friends who get take-out 4 or 5 times a week to support their local business. It would just figure that the one time I do it, it bites me in the behind.
  5. Mentioning Braun, even as an honorable mention as a top 3rd basemen, just cements your obsession with having him at 3B...

    New Music

Listened to the new Pearl Jam yesterday... Loved it! It's now on my purchase list.
  7. TURBO

    New Music

I've been looking forward to that actually, haven't heard it yet though.
  8. Same, interesting to watch the first time, not sure if it will hold my attention in the future or not. Good background noise though. Baseball being played is better than no baseball being played.
  9. As they are discussing the "no spitting" and "no spitting seeds" rules in the KBO, the guy at bat just spit on TV. lol
  10. But which data is actual? You can find data to suit your views, the information is so vast, there is just no way of knowing which data is factual, which data is agenda driven and which data is nonsense.
  11. I'm not 100% sure that some "experts" don't have agendas as well. Our media has let our nation down, plain and simple. I see no end in sight.
  12. The older I get, and the more I pay attention to the news and political agendas, the more I dislike the direction this country is headed. It is almost to the point that I believe nothing and no one anymore. Our media continues to fail us. There is no consistency...………………..anywhere. It's just a big giant crapheap of a mess.
  13. I really hope that MLB never goes to all that advertising on their uniforms. Bad enough we have to see that stupid Nike swoosh all over the place, but if our uniforms ever get as busy as the Korean unis, that will suck. And why do so many people wear masks that go below their noses? lol Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the mask?
  14. also, Thames WAS on the Dinos, he is signed with the Nationals for the 2020 season.
  15. buzzkill.
  16. Wow, that escalated quickly!
  17. Tough call between Cooper, Scott, and Fielder. I wouldn't put Sexson in this conversation myself. I can't even begin to put them in order...
  18. Yeah, I've been waiting for the Drew Carey Show to come out on dvd for years, but no luck. Just Season 1. Apparently there was an issue with the music rights, so rather than release it with a fake soundtrack, they choose to not release it at all. I'm glad of that though, I don't want it with crappy fill in music.
  19. Showtime and EPIX had a couple weeks of free channels, all of their channels were free with cable. I recorded a bunch of movies to watch at a later date. I am surprised that HBO and Cinemax haven't followed suit. Cheap SOBs.
  20. When World War 2 broke out, Roosevelt ordered baseball to continue playing for the sole reason it provided those working long days in the war factories with a needed diversion. That saved lives and kept morale up while families across the nation worried about their sons and brothers. We have a serious mental health crisis in this country because of these stay at home orders, that in the long run might be more devastating than the disease. There have already been cases of those on the front lines taking their own lives. I wouldn't be the least offended if major sports used widely available tests, bought privately so they could resume or start playing and providing this country with a much needed diversion. I'm more offended by rich athletes who are in top physical condition being locked up in their 6,000 square feet mansions telling me to stay home in my 1,200 square foot ranch while they sit out the season. The PSA with NFL figures telling me it's going to be all right from their palatial palaces is deeply offensive. Easy for them to say when millions have lost jobs. Same thing with celebrities and politicians who are preaching the same thing from their mansions.
  21. BCS is set up to watch after Breaking Bad. I think you could do it either way, but since Breaking Bad was over before BCS started, I'd watch Breaking Bad first.
  22. Teachers being lax? Oh man, if you only knew the amount of new stress on the teaching profession that this is causing. I'll leave it at that, and end with this. If you aren't involved in education currently, you have no idea, no clue whatsoever about whatis going on with teachers...
  23. Those are touchless - how are they an issue? With paper towel rolls, they always get jammed up or the sensors don't work and you have to manually turn the knob to get them to dispense the next towel. They blow an immense amount of germs from the floor, into the air. Fecal matter being the one that is most concerning.
  24. The Wire has been on my to do list for ages, have just never gotten around to seeing it... So HBO is currently free? No, a selection of HBO shows are free. Here is a link: https://www.hbo.com/hbo-news/watch-hbo-free-no-subscription My wife and I also enjoyed Big Little Lies- it was pretty intense. We plan to watch Sopranos next. LOVED Sopranos... One of my favorite shows of all time!
