  1. The offense has a chance here to pull away. Eat up enough clock and score at the end of this drive then get the ball to start the second half. They could make it a three score game without giving the defense a chance to screw it up.
  2. I have no idea if Weeks would be any good, but as one of my favorite Brewers ever I'd love the hire.
  3. I don't believe that for a second. Brewers were 29-18 in one run games and the Cubs were 21-24. That's the difference between an elite bullpen and an average one. We'll see if Counsell is still as good when he doesn't have that bullpen to rely on.
  4. The small market Brewers offered Counsell more in one season than what the big money Mets will be paying their manager over three seasons.
  5. The Cubs are crazy if they actually pitch Steele in this game. He's already 54 innings over his previous high, to put him out there in a meaningless game is just asking for arm troubles.
  6. Marlins scored five runs in four games against the Brewers. Marlins have scored 36 runs in three games against the Braves.
  7. Not sure this is true, the Packers scored 10 points on the ensuing drives after each of those plays. You could say they'd have 28 instead of 24 points.
  8. I think so, guessing he'll be the designated pinch runner. He's sneaky fast, Baseball Savant has him as the 8th fastest player in MLB. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/sprint_speed
  9. Belliard and Sexson, two of my favorite Brewers on some really bad Brewers teams.
  10. This is the coverage map for tonight's game. Basically all the NL Central cities except St. Louis are getting it, rest of the country getting Astros and Yankees. https://506sports.com/mlb.php?yr=2023&wk=17
  11. Jake from Jomboy broke the news:
  12. Not sure who the bigger clowns are, Mikolas, Marmol or the Cardinal announcers who fully admitted they hit him on purpose by saying he "did the job the right way" and then become whiny babies when Mikolas is ejected seconds later. That whole organization is trash.
  13. Interesting that due to the home and home with the Twins those two teams get a five day All Star Break.
  14. Just announced, 2025 Draft will be in Green Bay.
  15. I don't think people realize how bad Rodgers was last season, he finished 26th overall in QBR. He finished behind Matt Ryan who was so bad the 4-12-1 Colts benched him. If Love is just an average QB they likely match their win total from last season.
  16. I disagree with this, the beauty of baseball is the series. Why spend the money to travel to one game when you can travel and see multiple? I've traveled to numerous cities to see the Brewers on the road, always taking in multiple games. It's summer so the weather is nice, the tickets are the cheapest of any sport, and the different ballparks are fun and unique. Baseball is the best sport for travelling.
  17. Sergio Romo signed a contract to retire with the Giants and pitch one last game, their last exhibition game against the A's in San Francisco. He wore a special hat for the occasion, pretty cool idea, I'm sure it made each kid's day too.
  18. That's not true, Jimmy G has signed with the Raiders and the Jets lost Mike White to the Dolphins, so they're running out of options beyond Rodgers.
  19. The Brewers have been using a 6-man rotation for years now anyway. With Ashby out I'm guessing it'll be Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Lauer, Miley and Houser as the swingman who goes to the bullpen occasionally as off days allow to keep the other five on five days rest. With Ashby's injury, if he comes back in a couple of months they're likely going to be careful with his innings, so unless there's an injury or someone struggling he'll probably settle into the Houser role.
  20. No, you can't. If you're out of market you can do MLB.TV. In market you could get the games on Youtube TV back when it was FS Wisconsin, but once greedy Sinclair bought it and rebranded to Bally's they jacked the prices up and all the streaming services dropped them, Youtube included. Youtube did get NFL Sunday Ticket starting this year, so that'll cause another small uptick in cord cutting of people who only had DirecTV for that.
  21. Youtube TV is half the price of cable and a much better product, why would I ever pay for cable? Cable is dinosaur that's slowly dying. As of March 2021, only 56% of Americans have cable or satellite, the majority of which are people over 50. Only 34% of people ages 18-29 and 46% of people ages 30-49 have it, and I'm sure those numbers have gone down in the last two years. A sure fire way of not expanding your fan base to the younger generation is to only have it available on a platform few young people use. Once the kids and teens of today who've only grown up with streaming become adults those numbers are going to drop even further.
  22. Bally grossly overpaid for the RSNs at a time when most people were cutting the cord. Then they overpriced them so much to cause all the streaming services that carried the channels to drop them, so they could introduce their own streaming service for $20/month, which doesn't seem to be going too well for them. The RSN model is dying, and Bally Sports going under would speed that up. The RSN model going away would help small market teams with a league wide TV deal as well as fans being able to see the games without the dumb blackout rules. Hey MLB, if you just give me access to Brewers games on MLB.TV I'd happily fork over the money every year to see all games. This shouldn't be that difficult.
