    My guess is that they were trying to wait for Wilson to come off of the IL. If they bring up Crow and send him down again right away, he isn't eligible to be recalled for 15 days. They might be holding Crow for the last week to give the staff some innings. Wilson went 4 IP yesterday, so he'll need another day or two. Need to see how his back responds.

    I just booked a round trip ticket from Denver to Chicago over Christmas for 28,000 miles. At an average of $0.01/mile, that's $280. Good flight times, too. Departing 10:20am Denver, landing 2pm ORD on 12/24. On Monday 12/28, departing ORD at 7:30pm landing at 9:20pm.

    I agree in theory, but FCS teams get the revenue they need to support the program from those games. If they make that rule, then the NCAA needs to allocate more money to FCS schools. $2M/school, 128 FCS programs, call it $250M. I think they can find that in the billions of dollars of revenue they take in.

    Pitching is expensive at the deadline. Melvin said that almost two decades ago. The best argument for May/Romero is that they had to go outside of the org because, even though they haven't been great, they are better than the in-house options the Brewers had. While I appreciate what Carlos Rodriguez did in taking one for the team on a few occasions, he was not going to solve for the need for innings and LHRP. Nor was Jared Koenig. Nor was Drew Rom. Nor was Craig Yoho. Who else they could have gotten is an unknown. They dangled Pena for Skubal. Clay Holmes has come back down to earth - 17 earned runs given up in his last three starts. (And Jefferson Rojas is a top 100 prospect now). People would have had a conniption if they traded for Tyler Mahle and his 5.28 road ERA; nobody saw that rebound. Robbie Ray hasn't been any better than May.

    Old school baseball guys rarely saw a pitcher throw harder than 90. Gossage threw in the 90's and he was considered a fireballer.

    Not really. His 2023 PFF overall grade as a rookie was 61, 21st among 36 qualifying centers. In 2024 it was 73.4, 9th among qualifying centers. In 2025 it was 66, 33rd among 81 qualifying guards.

    He only gets outscored 24-3 after the 1st quarter. Calls screen passes on 3rd and 15 though.

    FWIW, Minnesota only drew 48,048 for their game against Mississippi State. Capacity is over 50K, so they had over 2,000 empty seats. Looked like more than that.
