  1. Suppan gets rocked and gives up 2. God Bless Petco Park.
  2. His pain sounds just like broken ribs to me. Two months ago to the day, I broke two of my ribs. One month later, I was able to excercise again. Just during the last few days I have finally started to feel 100%, so hopefully it's not ribs for Ryan. Can't imagine trying to swing a bat during that first month.
  3. Just like Dusty says, you can't score runs by walking.
  4. Mine is from Arrested Development season 1, Gob and Tobias' investment plan. It leads to one of my favorite exchanges: Tobias Fünke: I'm afraid that this offer comes off the table at midnight. Michael: That may be the worst bluff I've ever heard. Narrator: Even the members of Gobias industries agreed on that one. Sounds kind of dumb out of context but the delivery of Jason Bateman, David Cross, and even Ron Howard's lines are perfect.
  5. San Francisco is an awesome city, but the weather is not for me. I was just there in June. Lake Tahoe is probably the nicest place I've been. Phenomenal weather and a lot of stuff to do.
  6. I figured Mass Hass would have the answer. Thanks.
  7. The Wisconsin Rattlers are playing the Kane County Cougars in the next couple days. I want to go see Weeks play, and looked on their website and it shows he has not played the last few games. He's still active according to the website. Does anyone know what's going on?
  8. I'd probably take Lee over Fielder because their offense is somewhat similiar, but no chance with a no-hit, all glove guy like Doug M or JT Snow. A guy like that would be nice to have on the bench for a close game in the 9th for Fielder though. I think 1B defense is underrated, as I've seen Lee save Aramis Ramirez 3 or 4 errors in just Brewers games this year.
  9. I pretty much echo BTA's thoughts on this. Last year Weeks had an 850 OPS April, with May and July being terrible, June being below average, and followed with the scorching final 2 months. Hardy on the otherhand had a similar year but was very hot the first 2 months instead of the last 2, and very good again in September, but wound up with a lower OPS than Weeks. I'd be willing to bet almost every casual fan would tell you Hardy had a better year though, when in actuality Weeks slightly out-hit him. If you get off to a fast start people will overlook a couple of terrible ones in the middle, when it really doesn't matter at all if a player hits well in the beginning or end of the year.
  10. His blog entry on the lineup today was unneccessarily snarky. At this point it seems like he's going out of his way to second guess every move Ned makes. Way to patch up that relationship Tom. It's hard to believe a guy that spends so much time around the game still can somehow have the mentality and second guess nature of a casual fan.
  11. Free Callix Crabbe! How you find the negative in his day today is beyond me. Can't say I'm surprised.
  12. Ned better have a short leash on Suppan with the off day tomorrow.
  13. Hey, he's moving teh runner over. Braun!
  14. 1. Weeks 2. Braun 3. Kapler 4. Sheets 5. Gallardo
  15. I agree 100%. Once he goes to another team I always figured they'll try to overhaul his stance. I don't know who's idea it was to switch it, or why they'd try to fix something that was working very well.
  16. paul253- Kind of nitpicking, but he had an average of .235. Though that means nothing, as BA is useless. An OBP of .374 is very good. Weeks has had a crappy year, no doubt. The .707 OPS he currently has is probably Gwynn's peak though. He's just not a good enough player for him to start on a contender.
  17. Yost has managed as bad as he ever has the last 5 games. And not just because they lost all 5. Leaving in starters too long, blowing thru your bullpen when the game is pretty much over, and bad lineups. I've defended him this year for the most part, but he's been horrible the last few days.
  18. That pitch might of hit Kapler if he didn't swing.
  19. I agree that there should be a strict platoon at 3B, but Branyan has been swinging at the first pitch a lot the last month.
  20. Harden is dominate against everyone, but lefties fare a little bit better against him. Weeks shouldn't even start this game. Last night would have been a way better matchup for him. But if you do start him, why not shake it up and drop him lower and let Counsell lead off? We're fighting an uphill battle as it is, so Yost doesn't put out his best lineup against that pitcher? I don't get it.
  21. I think sitting Weeks is the right move. He looked horrible Monday against a guy he usually hits pretty well against, and last night was probably his worst at-bat of the season, which is really saying something. Yost sat him when he looked really good last Thursday and Saturday, which was really stupid, and now he looks like crap again. Edit: But yeah, I agree with you 100% on Hall getting the start. Outside of a few homeruns and bloop singles in the last week, he has looked hideous up there.
