  1. I agree with logan. There is no reason to bump Sheets back in my opinion. If you want McClung to get a start have him pitch for Bush. You dont pitch back your best, and right now only reliable pitcher (although Soup could be considered reliable)
  2. He looks better on passed balls this year with 3 in 21 games. He had been averaging 1 every 4 games before this year. Hopefully he can continue to lower that. He has only thrown out 4 of 22 base runners this year, so he is struggling there. But it isnt like he has a noodle for an arm like Estrada did.
  3. Wouldnt we want to take a guy out in order to have McClung start? Why would we put another mediocre (at best) starter out there instead of our ace?
  4. When can you start saying a player is slumping and not get accused of using a small sample-size. Hall hasn't really been good all year. He has 7 home runs which is great, but everything outside of that is poor on offense. He has hit one home run in his last 20 games. The one thing I one thing I will give him is that he has done a better job walking lately. This feels like the Jenkins debate to me. When he is hot he can caring a team, it is just too bad he is streaky. However, we have to sit and watch Hall flail away at bad pitches and hit below .100 for two weeks. And lets be honest he may carry us for a week or two but this is a guy who didn't really do anything much to speak of last year either. I want to see the Hall 2006 or even 2005. I just think he might need to sit for a while in order to figure some stuff out. I hope I am wrong though and he tears it up this coming week
  5. I don't see a lot of reason to keep Hall out there. His approach at the plate is to try to hit a home run on every pitch. Even when he gets two strikes he is still swinging for the fences. He is a lot of like Branyan except at least Branyan will walk a lot. Hall needs some time to figure out his swing and get some confidence back. Let him hit against lefties, but putting him out there against righties is an out waiting to happen right now. Hardy, on the other hand, is now hitting .260 with an OPB of .338. There is no reason at all to sit him. He is starting to walk a little more, strike out less, and maybe most importantly he is hitting the ball to opposite field
  6. Small sample size does make some sense, but people were loving Braddock (rightfully so) after his first couple starts this year. I just figure since he is a catcher people should be jumping all over his hype-machine. 72 at -bats is enough to get excited about with his track record in the minors. If he can learn to walk a little more and become an adequate defender he could be quite the prospect.
  7. Is Salome not getting love because he is being overshadowed by Gamel and LaPorta or because people are slow to warm up to him because of his suspension? He has 3 more hits today pushing his average over .400.
  8. Hardy shouldn't get a pass but he is hitting better lately. He hasn't shown power at all, which is a disappointment. Hall in my mind needs to be sat down in mind because he is struggling so much right now. Hall isn't hitting home runs lately and when he isnt hitting home runs he isnt valuable to this team. It doesnt make sense to me to bench the guy who is starting to hit.
  9. That is a good point Dr. Wood. I always forget about that because I can't tangibly follow those two draft picks yet
  10. Losing Garrison and Thatcher does not really hurt me. Thatcher is getting roughed up and Garrison has cooled off after his hot start. Inman is definitely the deal breaker. Every time I read this it makes me a little depressed because of our lack of pitching prospects in AA or AAA. I keep waiting for Inman to cool off but his numbers have been great.
  11. It is crazy to look at the stats for the Southern League. A Star is at the top of pretty much every category and most of them are topped by Gamel and LaPorta both. The Stars pitchers are fairing well to with Hammond resurrecting his career, Miller pitching well, and Narron. Not only are LaPorta and Gamel dominating their league they are near or at the top of the OPS, HR, AVE, and Slugging.
  12. Kendall ended up hitting a weak chopper that would have been hard to turn two on that.
  13. Is Huntsville league and park hitter-friendly, pitcher-friendly, or is it neutral? I mean it seems like they are playing at Coors field every night.
  14. I feel like Weeks is starting to turn a corner. He has only struck out 4 times in the last 10 games which is a span of 47 at bats. That is quite the improvement. His hits are going to start falling if he keeps that up.
  15. How is Dillion as a fielder? I would like for him to get a little more playing time. Hall is just hard to watch right now. He is 3 for his last 35 with 12 K's, only one extra-base hit, and zero RBI's. He has walked 8 times which is nice. That is an .086 average over the last 10 games, while striking out over once per game. I think he needs to sit down for awhile.
  16. We may have squeezed to stay out of the double play but if Kendall hit the same hit he did to get out we would have scored a run. He hit a nice hit chopper, in which he got thrown out but no way they turn two and no way they get the out at home
  17. Gagne bails out someone on the botched squeeze attempt.
  18. Let's see what Mota can do as a closer for a couple games after this. LaRussa was willing demote Isringhausen, so let's follow suit
  19. If executed, it would have been a great play. Miles would have never got there. No really it would have been a play that happened to work, but even the announcers were saying it did not make sense. All you need is a sac fly. Why risk it in a tie game?
  20. Does it really matter who missed the sign it was stupid play
  21. Why would you say Hall is about to get hot?
  22. A lot of the question on Prince, his defense and long term durability, are reasons he will probably end up in the AL. The DH possibility keeps Prince a highly valuable asset.
  23. Still at .201. He is now under the "double" mendoza line for may though. Now batting .097 for May
  24. Pretend it is already Mother's Day Bill hall
