  1. At this point it feels like Arcia is gone. What is his trade value? Could he bring in a solid reliever? I doubt he brings in a starter who is any more than a reclamation project. Not sure what type of prospect you could get for him. I would lean toward a reliever.
  2. Arcia or Healy. Arcia could easily get traded for a reliever
  3. 1 year 5 million. Seems like a solid deal
  4. IMO the more significant number would be innings. Miley has thrown 765 innings over the last five years, Anderson with only 503. Anderson was a top prospect, slotted into the A's rotation in 2009 and made 30 starts. Since that time, over the last 10 seasons, he's only hit the 20 start mark two times. Over those 10 years he's only averaged 82 innings per season. That's easily my biggest concern with Anderson. I like the fact that Stearns brought in a ground ball pitcher, which could be a good fit for Miller Park. Low K total really doesn't concern me too much. But the guy isn't helping the team if he is on the DL, and that has been a major problem for Anderson throughout his entire career. Injuries are a question but Miley was hurt with the Brewers and really seemed to wear down last year and in 2017 he started solid only to falter after 10 or so starts. I wonder if he still should be looked at as a 30 start pitcher or if he is better at 20-25. Obviously a small sample size so maybe not.
  5. Obviously it will never happen but if they had a bigger budget and signed both would the Brewers be the favorite to win the Central? The rotation would all the sudden look solid and the bullpen could be very good. The lineup wouldnt have a weak spot and would have depth. I have talked myself into it. Stearns is an idiot if he doesnt do it.
  6. I probably would have rather had Miley than Anderson even with the extra year but I am guessing they put up very similar numbers outside of Ks. I get the reactions to moves because some people felt like the Brewers needed to add a frontline starter and they havent so that group is going to frustrated by pretty much every move that doesnt net a frontline starter. I also get the group that says trust Stearns because he has proven very good at his job. I look at the current rotation of Woodruff, Anderson, Hauser, Lindblom, Lauer, and potentially guys like Burnes, Peralta, etc and I would like a guy to slot after Woodruff. Ryu would be perfect in my mind but I doubt it works budget wise. I actually like the backend of the rotation this year because I think there is some really nice upside in Lindblom and Lauer and think Anderson is a safe bet to be solid if not spectacular. Slide Ryu next Woodruff and put Hauser in the pen with a hopefully improved Burnes (and obviously guys like Hader, Knebel, Suter, Black) and I think the staff could win a lot of games
  7. The bucks have two more games against poor teams - Grizzlies and Cavs - then they have a 5 game stretch that includes 4 games against the Mavs, Lakers, Pacers and 76ers. That stretch will be really important. It is hard to have reasonable expectations after what they did to the Clippers. They could go on another really nice run after that playing 10 straight teams with losing records.
  8. Didnt like not bringing him back. Would love to have him on the team. If they get him for less than 7.5 then well done Stearns. That would really leave 3b as the only hole on offense. OF is set. 2b, SS and utility IF are set. Catcher seems set. Get Thames, a 3b, and right handed bench bat and I am happy with our offense
  9. Add on top of that they are an incredibly well-coached team.
  10. I fully believe a lineup of Hill, Brown, Dante, Connaughton, Lopez with Ercan, Korver, Wilson and Bender could beat a few of the bottom teams in the east.
  11. Makes very little sense to me. I am Stearns has a plan but braun won't be able to play first everyday
  12. Reports are Chris Paul would like to come to Milwaukee. Doubt anyone is surprised by his interest but hard to see the Bucks having the same interest due to his contract.
  13. Well I think missing our MVP might have hurt us in that game and the fact that our best pitcher wasnt stretched out enough to pitch deeper into the game might have hurt, and the fact that we didnt have our set up man also might have hurt us. No one is saying pitching isnt a problem. However our lineup will have huge holes without Grandal and Moose. This team isnt going to be able to sign an ace in Free Agency anyway. The starting pitching crop isnt any good and you are going to get stuck paying a ton of money to a guy like Jake Odorizzi
  14. Gray is weird because he was worse away from Coors field this year. Overall on the year his numbers were pretty solid actually. You would get two years of Gray. Two years of Story. Hoffman has been brutal in the majors but I guess he could bounce back. Not sure I do that for Huira but it would definitely help us the next two years
  15. If the media went nuts with the Uthoff transfer stuff I cant believe they are not going crazy about this.
  16. I think you are way low on what Wheeler and Odorizzi will probably get. Wheeler will probably get in the $18-21M range, and Odorizzi will too. d'Arnaud made $3.5M this year so it's very, very unlikely he'll take a 30% pay cut to sign with the Brewers. At $12M Smith is too costly. Hader and Pomeranz and Suter will be the lefties. They can better use the money on a starter. You've got an interesting bull pen, but I don't see any way in the world Burnes makes the MLB roster. Knebel, Wahl, Black, and Guerra are all ahead of Burnes. I forgot about Feyereisen. Good call! someone is going to really regret a contract like that for Odorizzi. What is he going to look like when he doesnt have a ton of starts vs that awful division?
  17. Agreed. A two year deal would be perfect. Anything under $20 a year seems like a good value
  18. MLB.com article talking about how good Grandal was this year. GMs are going to know this too https://www.mlb.com/news/yasmani-grandal-is-the-top-free-agent-catcher-available
  19. Why would you be surprised? There have been so many times people declared this team dead. Not sure why people can't just enjoy the ride.
  20. Base running issues killing them right now. Grandal's "slide", Cain get caught stealing 3rd, and then Cain getting thrown out at the plate.
  21. Grandal with a hard luck night so far. Two hard hit balls and 2 (well three bc of huira) outs
  22. So far? He has hit at every level. There is no reason for that comment. You could just as well say so far to the stuff he has been bad at
  23. One of the more impressive and improbable runs I have seen in quite some time.
