  1. For Loogy his .730 OPS for righties really isnt that bad either B-R.com has .793 OPS vs RHB. Not great, but not terrible. For his career or this year? It says .723 for this year where I am looking
  2. The pitching staff was always going to start to look better when they start going against poorer hitting teams. Those last 14 days covers the Mets, Rockies, Mets, and Nationals who sit 17-21 in OPS ranking as a team. Before that they were playing a lot against the Cards, Dodgers, and Cubs.
  3. Over the past month (since April 5) Orlando Arcia is hitting .287 BA / .330 OBP / .435 SLG. Since this is the optimism thread I will say that .766 OPS is likely the new normal for Arcia, but I will acknowledge there is a chance he may currently be outperforming expectations with the bat. True but I was really just taking the overall season. If we can take recent splits I would say there is no way Grandal hit as poorly as he has the last month - .218/.330/.346. For the overall season I think Arcia is right in line with what I expected
  4. To me Arcia's biggest issue on defense is lack of focus. 95% of the time he is top end. But once every few games it just seems like he loses focus and misses a simple one. They ask him to do a lot with all their shifts and for the most part he does a very good job.
  5. For me it is hard not to be optimistic when so few of the guys seems to be exceeding expectations and the team is still performing at a high level. Right now Yelich, Davies, Moose and Guerra are probably the only guys who I think are outperforming expectations. And outside of Davies I think the other 3 could maintain close to their pace. At the same time many guys look to have quite a bit of room for improvement in Shaw, Aguilar, Cain (with the bat), Braun, Chacin (looks to be turning the corner), Burnes, Jeffress, Peralta, etc. This team has played an incredibly tough schedule and has played well. The next 10 games are big but I see this as a team that has plenty of room for improvement.
  6. That would be great! I would gladly give you the extra Jeffress bc we got two that day
  7. But he's no longer our terrible. And I love that. Still one of the more baffling Stearns moves keeping him so long
  8. We are out of the country the day of the Yelich bobble head giveaway. My son is obsessed with Yelich so I would love to get him one. If there is anyone going with a group that wont need all of them I have a Jeffress to trade and would be willing to pay some as well.
  9. Honestly it is hard for me to see the downside in sending Shaw down for a bit. The Cubs series would be perfect with all the lefties they have. Calling up Hiura is incredibly tempting. He fits what this team needs super well
  10. If I am not mistaken it can't be super long. He starts his clock to return when he makes his first AAA start. The Brewers must feel he is close or they would have waited
  11. Yes. They will both have to sit out a year. Neither one has enough credits to graduate and be a grad transfer and the other exceptions are very rare
  12. Reports are it has nothing to do with Howard - rumors are that is much more to do with Wojo. Who knows what is true but this is shocking news. Always felt like marquette was an odd fit for them. I think if Bo would have recruited Sam both would be at Madison right now. Feel bad for Marquette fans as this team looked special on paper going into next year
  13. Actually many people have said Jennings is wrong and it is easy to find that. You just dont seem to look for it. And many of these players are not current players who seem like they would have to say it - Casey Hayward, Chris Banjo, John Kuhn, HaHa, James Jones, even Ryan Grant https://247sports.com/nfl/green-bay-packers/LongFormArticle/Aaron-Rodgers-good-teammate-current-former-Packers-players-support--130985476/#130985476_8
  14. Lester leaves the Cubs game with hamstring tightness. If that turns out to be more serious they are in real trouble. Their rotation depth is not good. Their bats seem to have woken up quite a bit though
  15. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/brewers-jimmy-nelson-rehab-schedule-clarified/
  16. Ph, Heyward, almora than top. I say go with Hader again. Just 23 pitches so far.
  17. It does but Santana is 2-12 so he is regressing toward his true self. I figured Santana would always hit more but that his fielding was just not a good fit unlike gamel who can play everywhere
  18. Top 6 in the Cubs order have reached just twice in 15 plte appearance with a walk and a single. They have struck out 6 times. Yet they have 4 runs...
  19. Cubs option Edwards to AAA and put Montgomery to the IL. They will get some fresh arms for their bullpen tonight
  20. 9 Ks in his last 3 games. I think Yelich and Cain have combined for 9 over the coursthe season so far. I loves the guys Stearns targets
