  1. 5 Ks. Yes two big hits but only one other guy hit a pitch in play an infield pop up. So he wasn't his best but terrible is a little harsh. He came in to a terrible situation 1st and 3rd with no one out.
  2. Is there a reason we cant try to play Gamel at 1st base? I know he isnt a power hitter like a first baseman should be but he should be in the lineup over thames and aguilar and I am guessing he could play first
  3. One of the worst divisions ever assembled. They are closing in on a run differential of -100. If the Indians start selling the division will get even worse. I think all of the NL central teams would be at least the 2nd best if not best team in that division.
  4. I am really interested to see how the Cubs hold up this year. That rotation is starting to struggle and their bullpen isnt very good. In May Contreras, Hamels, and Darvish all have ERAs over 4 with a WHIP over 1.45, Lester's ERA is nice but other peripherals look ugly - 35 hits in 28 innings. They have very little depth starting beyond their top 5 unless you think Chatwood can be reliable - I dont see it - or Montgomery is the answer. Their problem is taking away either of them leaves their bullpen even more depleted. The Brewers are much better constructed to withstand an injury with Nelson, Peralta, Burnes, Wilkerson, Houser, etc that they can start.
  5. I'm guessing the weather played a role in it. Its just "another" game to the local Twins fans, so I'm thinking many just stayed home. For us Brewer fans over in West WI and MN, its our only chance to see the Brewers this year, so we chanced it. I joked with my boys that we should go sit behind homeplate because half of the seats were open. The weather will be much better tonight. Weather is a factor but twins fans have not been showing up most games. Despite holding the best record in baseball at one point they had seen the 5th biggest drop in attendance from last year and are 12,000 people per game lower than the Brewers! If you watch their home highlights most games are around 50 percent or less full
  6. Brewer fans were really loud last night. On the radio it was hard to tell what fan base cheered louder. The crowd was so loud after the Arcia homerun. Seemed even more road team heavy than when the Cubs come to miller
  7. That was really impressive win against a very hot team. And only a half game out of first. Maybe this team will be alright
  8. Except this is false. The Brewers have allowed 5 runs (or more) 21 times in 54 games. The Brewers are 8th out of 15 NL in team ERA at 4.33 So the "minimum" of 6 runs to win a game the majority of the time isn't really true. They've also given up the fifth most runs in the NL and have only a +14 run differential. The have probably given up more runs than a few teams bc they have played a lot of games and they have played a lot of games against good teams
  9. Very surprised they pitched to yelich there. He doesn't strike out a ton so a sac fly seemed likely
  10. It is fine be but nothing special and since it is open air it is ridiculous for almost a quarter of the season.
  11. Surprised by the lack of respect the dbacks are getting. They may be overachieving but their run differential is great and they have played 44 of their 50 games against teams .500 or better
  12. Wonder if he takes the whole series off?
  13. Would Davies make it if they picked today? I was more looking at it that way. I know his strikeout numbers are meh but I think he would have a very good chance.
  14. It is an off day so I thought this would be an interesting discussion. As of right now what Brewers would make the All-Star game Locks Yelich. No doubt. Outside of Bellinger he is the easiest pick in the NL right now Close to Lock Davies - 2nd in ERA and 5th in wins. Hader - There are a few relievers with better numbers but his peripheral numbers are ridiculous. Personally I would call him a lock but relievers can be a place where subpar teams get a guy. He does have the name recognition to be a lock too. In the hunt Cain. His batting has been subpar but his fielding is so good. WAR has him easily second of guys with over 100 plate appearances. Grandal. Look at his numbers compared to other catchers. His WAR is lower than Realmuto but his OPS is second behind Contreras. Moose. It depends if he is considered a 2b. If so he is right there with the top guys. I think Wong and McNeil are the most likely right now with Muncy and Moose right there. Woodruff. His early season struggles put his ERA maybe too high. But he does have a lot of wins and is pitching great lately. Tied for the league lead in wins and 7th in K's. Am I missing anyone?
  15. Does that really matter? His numbers are off the charts and that is with a very sustainable BABIP. The best thing about Yelich's start is it really seems like he could sustain it for much of the year. I am not sure what the spray chart would say but he definitely hasn't become a dead pull hitter.
  16. Well seeing as he hit the homer today opposite field and is hitting better than last year I think he will be fine. I don’t care where he hits it, I just want results. Yeah yelich doesn't seem like the guy who will screw up his swing to hit home runs.
  17. Yeah, they aren't a bad team. But they are probably a Christian Yelich injury away from being a below average team. Depending on how long he is out maybe. That said a lot of teams would struggle if they they lose a star player.
  18. It is annoying how this team is playing but it is crazy to call this team terrible. They are at worst going to be 4-6 on a 10 game road trip against 3 of the top 6 teams in the NL
  19. Jackson didn't throw a single pitch in the zone that at bat...
  20. Moose struggled early in his career. He is pretty much an .800 OPS guy or higher since 2015 with last year at .774 being his one year under .800.
  21. Absolutely, very good chance the Cubs wear out down the stretch again. The Cubs have 2 off days between now and July 5th. 50 games in 52 days...barring one of their classic "rain-out/rest days" when it's 68 and sunny. That's a busy stretch. That is without any rain delays making it more games during that stretch. They could easily have a couple double headers or those two days used to make up games.
