  1. What Yelich has going for him in the "voters love numbers" reality is the fact that he could win the batting title while hitting 30 plus home runs. If he does that and the Brewers win the division or even finish with the second best record i think he is in the top 2 or 3 for sure. Yelich by the old school numbers 1st in batting average 11th in home runs 10th in RBI 14th in SB By newer stats 10th in OBP 3rd in OPS 3rd in WAR (espn) That is pretty impressive resume
  2. You understand there are 162 games in Major league baseball and 16 in the NFL right? You understand that a QB in the NFL affects the game more than a RF does in baseball right? You realize in baseball guys take days off quite often right? They do in in the NBA too.
  3. How is this team not fun to watch? I also don't get the talk that this team isn't destined to do much in the post season. They just played really well against the best team in the NL and have completed well against others. Who is that much better than them? Cubs and I guess dodgers. No one else
  4. The more I read people's thoughts and the more I look at our options I think next year we could easily go - Nelson, Anderson, Miley, Davies, Chacin and then have the kids ready and waiting in case some gets hurt. Could make for crazy depth and a fun bullpen. This would also make a top of the rotation starter trade more of an option if we would go into the year not telling on Burnes and others. Could have depth to trade from.
  5. That didn't take long. With the injuries in 2017, Guerra pitched just over 100 innings between the majors and minors. He seems to be hitting the wall around 135 IP this season. (For reference, he pitched a total of 148.1 innings across all levels in 2016.) I'd rather be happy for the way Junior bounced back this year, than be disappointed in how he's pitched since the ASB. Junior has only had one month with an Era under 3.8. his whip since June has been terrible. The wheels didn't come off recently. The signs have been there since June. July was bad. August was terrible. And his one start this month was brutal. He had a great April and outside of that he has been meh at best
  6. Do they really do this with innings limits? Most starters who have pitched full years before seem to come back and pick up where they left off innings wise
  7. He had an option left going into this season. No clue if he used it or how that all works. I let the people who know way more than me explain all that
  8. I agree with most of what you said but I think you overrate most number 4 starters and in the process underrate the Brewers group if you guys are 3-4 starters. Chacin has the 13th best ERA in the NL. His WHIP is right there too. There are 15 NL teams. I dont think Chacin is a number 1 but I dont see how he hasnt been a 2 this year, at worst a 3. Chase even on a down year has an ERA under 4. I think you could make the case that with Jimmy, Chacin and Chase you have 3 guys who could be top 3 starters on a lot of teams. Davies is probably right there too. They dont have a Cy Young guy but I think they return 4 guys who have shown in the past year or two they are number 3 or better starters.
  9. Chacin is the only guy you can trade and probably get fair value for. I think they would sell Anderson if they got anything close to fair value (get rid of Anderson, can keep Soria/Schoop). I don't see Stearns keeping everyone, so one of Chacin or Anderson will be traded. We would be selling on the low for Davies, Nelson, Guerra, Woodruff - so we are not getting rid of these guys. I don't see paying Miley/Gonzalez what they could get as a free agent, but if for some reason they are lowballed by league.... 1. Anderson/Chacin (one traded away) 2. Burnes 3. Davies 4. Nelson 5. Woodruff 6. Guerra/Peralta Wilkerson/Houser/Derby as backups. With Z.Brown and/or Supak maybe ready midseason?
  10. Dont try to confuse Cub's fans, players, or coaches by using facts. it is easier for them to whine or belittle. They are the Cubs and everyone should bow to them
  11. I am also really trying to figure out what calls they are whining about? Outside of the ball 4 to Braun which was borderline but looked high what were the bad calls? I mean they were missing by a ton most of the time
  12. I don't think the Brewers have ever claimed their fanbase was bigger than the Cubs. I also think with the way the Cubs were whining today this game meant something to them
  13. Man beating the cubs feels good. Like our chances tomorrow as well but you never know with pitching matchups
  14. So far so good with Granderson. He and Moose are professional hitters. Rarely have bad at bats. Make pitchers work. Love it
  15. Can't happen there. Swung at three balls. It did happen though. Then it happened again. A bunt wouldn't even have helped since Aguilar struck out
  16. Are people seriously saying we should have bunted with one of the best hitters in baseball? He struck out. It happens.
  17. I would be shocked to see hader in the rotation next year. Has there been anything from the Brewers saying this is a possibility. I would actually just like the Brewers to figure out how to maximize his innings better next year.
  18. Being able to have Peralta in the minors would be great. I wouldn't convert him to a reliever yet. If the team did resign Miley and Nelson is healthy then Peralta could easily be in the minors with Anderson, Chacin and Burnes taking up the other spots. Woodruff could be in the majors as a long inning reliever or spot start guy. The question is where does Davies fit? You need your potential rotation to be 8 deep with injuries. Woodruff and Peralta could get you close.
  19. Totally forgot the time frame for suter. Count him out completely
  20. Is adding Nelson, if healthy, different though (not the same as an outside additional but not truly internal to this year's rotation)? He has top of the rotation stuff obviously. I do think you are right that the Brewers have the opportunity to make a trade for outside pitching. That seemed to hard to factor so I was just looking in house
  21. Yeah I know we are in the midst of a playoff chase but after watching Burnes and Woodruff I have been wondering what next year's rotation will look like. Here isy ranking as to the most likely to be a starting pitcher for the Brewers next year. This is only guys currently on the roster. 1. Chacin. No reason to doubt him 2. Anderson. I don't see him getting traded and if they can figure out then home run issue he seems like a lock 3. Burnes. They have already said he is going to be a starter and he isn't going to be in the minors 4. Nelson. I just don't know about the injury. He is obviously safe if healthy 5. Peralta. I am just not convinced he is a starter long term 6. Miley. I think he has become too expensive to resign 7. Davies. Top trade candidate if healthy 8. Woodruff. He might be in my personal top 5 ahead of Peralta but the Brewers don't seem to value him as much 9. Suter. Can never count him out (edit - actually as pointed out by everyone below you can count him out) 10. Guerra. Please no
  22. So he had a great start against a AAA team?
