  1. Chourio and Braelon Allen are on a group chat together 😉
  2. I guess I am a bit naive. Mrs. Samurai and I didn't have children out of any obligation. I guess it never crossed my mind that obligation would be a reason. Like I said, I'm naive. For us, having and rearing children is one of the most intimate and rewarding things that we could do. We certainly didn't know what we were doing. Beforehand, we sat down with a Financial Advisor and had a discussion about what we wanted to do for us and for our children. Once we had a plan, we stuck to it as best as we could. We did our best. Now, many years later, two more little Samurai left in college. We did not get all of the toys we wanted nor travelled everywhere we wanted (yet). That said, it is a personal choice. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, but I do agree with you that parents should, "damn well better do [their] job and take care of that kid to the best of [their] ability." Easier said than done...
  3. Is it self-serving to quote myself? Anyway, tonight's effort was worthy of an ace. Well done, Freddy!
  4. He should be on the list for the simple reason that he cannot finish batters like he used to. How many 0-2 counts did he get to this year where he either walked the batter, or got into a double-digit pitches for the at bat? He was labeled as being the staff ace (maybe a bit unfairly), and he has not performed as such.
  5. I guess the Juicing coefficient for Bonds, McGwire and Sosa wasn't as high as Braun's. Unfortunately, I think playing in Milwaukee doesn't provide a national cultural impact. Oh well.
  6. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10128300-ranking-top-50-mlb-players-of-the-modern-era-11-50 No Brewers listed except for CC Sabathia. I would have expected to see Ryan Braun on the list with, at least, an honorable mention.
  7. Joe Ross and DL Hall are still unknowns. Ross hasn't pitched that much and DL Hall was a reliever that the Brewers were trying to convert to a starter. If they were healthy, the Brewers would have a better understanding of how they would perform. Knowing this, It would be wise to shore up the starting rotation with a proven commodity. There are a lot of options. I would be discouraged if they took a high risk flier now and give up valuable prospects in the process.
  8. He needs to get solid contact. The difference between Adames and Contreras is Contreras is content hitting from left-center to right-center. Adames has great hitting games when he comes to the plate with that approach. See ball, hit ball can't be his approach. He needs to have a plan. Now, he may have a plan. If he does, it isn't a good one or it isn't working. His hips and hands are out of sync for sure.
  9. Maybe I can trade in my Black and Decker corded hedge trimmer. It did take one extension cord to its grave years ago. Sigh...
  10. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F was fun.
  11. Here is an interesting video, and somewhat comical, that talks about the strike zone and accuracy.
  12. Remember how many were predicting that the Cub fanbase would not care for Counsell's style? Well, props to you guys!
  13. 🤣 Usually one of the cats will try to stand in front of the tv. If he isn't there, he is likely hiding because storms are coming. So the cat will be the inverse of what is on TV.

  15. Being at 10 men for most of the game was quite disappointing against Panama. I'm not sure what got Weah so worked up that he would cold cock the defender away from the play. Maybe they don't have as many cameras at Juventus and thought he would get away with it. I guess there might have been a racist comment? Not sure. The collision with Turner should have had, at least, a yellow for Panama. They have their work cut out for them against Uruguay. I'm pulling for Bolivia for sure against Panama.
  16. Tkachuk is a bit of a goon. Nurse outgooned him during the Stanley Cup, though... 😉
  17. It was a great game.
  18. You mean like Rukeem Stroud? 😉
  19. I really haven't paid attention to the new "Bat Signal" until now. It is pretty cool. ... and then they get ...
  20. I looked at my Shareholder packet and noticed a Green Bay News Anchor is being nominated to be a director. Any idea why he is being nominated?
  21. For some reason, Black reminds me of Jim Slaton from the 70's. Maybe a litle Joey Votto, too... 😉 While with the Mudhens, Hiura's K rate was 32%. Since being released and picked up by the Angels organization, his K rate is worse. It is 34% with Salt Lake. Hiura seems like a nice guy. I'm not sure what happened during the pandemic, but it seems like he is either incapable of making the change, is not willing to make a change, or nobody is showing him how to make the change. Turang realized something needed to change and, on his own, took the initiative to get better. I believe Black will be much better with time. It is early.
  22. It seems like they are back to trying to pull everything.
  23. Tom Wachs: better play by play than the Fox guys. sorry…. Couldn’t come up with anything better.
