  1. I was there, too. My wife's first time at the Forum. I heard people suggest that "If Lopez was playing..." I don't think he would have affected the Pacers hitting 50% from 3PT. Hill went off. The Bucks started playing playground ball after they got up early in the first. Like you said -- the 3PT defense was non-existent. Most of that, I would say, was on Connaughton. He also had a bad game offensively.
  2. I wouldn't be disappointed if they got a 1st, a 3rd, and a bunch of cap relief. Then they can use that cap space to get some quality free agents.
  3. Eisen said it pretty well. He said that the Packers fans are ready to move on. Yes... the current events are due to scars from the Favre debacle. I'm not mad at the Packers or at Rodgers. Well, maybe I'm disappointed with the Packers because it sounds like there has been a change in culture. Then again, that is through Rodgers' eyes. I appreciated the question that AJ Hawk asked. Paraphrasing, it was, "when you came [out of the darkness], were you excited about playing again for the Packers?" Rodgers seemed taken aback at the question. Rodgers admitted he wasn't. Hawk earned a few journalism points from me because he asked a tough question. I'm glad that Rodgers answered it honestly, too.
  4. His hands of stone were not as prevalent. There were times where I saw him be more aggressive on the glass. He needs to add 10-15 lbs. That may be the thing that takes him over the top. It helps when somebody moves when they dump it to the post. All year, we would see the man in the post pound the ball and nobody would move (sans the first Michigan game). Perhaps they were doing it and I didn't see it during the year. Essegian was brutal from the field, but got 14 points because he was 9-9 from the line. His aggressiveness is a joy to watch. I know we talked about it all year, but Wahl is not the same guy. Perhaps it is the injury. He only took 2 shots and the primary reason was probably because of Crowl. The Liberty game will be interesting.
  5. Things have certainly changed with the Wisconsin program. I am happy to say that for 30 years, the program has been built up to have higher expectations. However, this brings back some memories. The year was 1989 and I was a sophomore in the Wisconsin band. We were on our way back from a concert on a bus and were trying to find radio stations to see if the Badgers made the NCAA tournament. I think I threw away my Bleacher Creatures t-shirt that might have been from that year with a picture of Dickie V on it saying the Badgers were going to make it to the postseason... "... and I don't mean the NIT, baby!" While the fan base was disappointed, that they didn't make the big dance, they made the NIT -- the first postseason tournament since 1947. 19-freaking-47... That was pretty cool. Fast forward to 1994 where Stu Jackson coached the Badgers to their first NCAA tournament since '47. Dude! Seeing the Wisconsin name show up on the 9 line was so cool. Everybody figured they were going to get kicked by Cincinnati in the first round. No way! That was incredible to even win an NCAA game. While it is great that the expectations for the basketball program, or maybe even all of Wisconsin sports, the times I listed above are precious. Perhaps, we are all spoiled... 😉 Those who are younger will experience it when the Brewers make it back to the World Series... and win it!!!!
  6. For some reason, the music from the pinball game Black Knight 2000 has always stuck in my head. Yes, for 30+ years 😢. I found a cover of it on Spotify. Crazy.
  7. I think back to the back-to-back Final Four teams. That was done with highly skilled players, not superstars, and a great system. Giving it to somebody on the block, have them dribble for 4-5 seconds to try a 1-on-1 post move may be great once in a while, but it has failed this year. When they move the ball and attack the basket (see the first Michigan game), they do well. To come into the tournament as ill prepared as they did is inexcusable, but not surprising. The team (coaches and players) need to look in the mirror and figure out what is going on before Chris McIntosh makes a decision.
  8. Whew! It is a good thing Wisconsin doesn't have baseball. Look at all of the headaches that are being avoided. In all seriousness, there were a lot of athletes that would play baseball and another sport. Hockey players especially. I can't remember a combination of basketball and football at any school, though.
  9. It is funny how many Minnesota fans said that they hated Favre and didn't ever want him to play for the Vikings... until he did. Fast forward to today -- same narrative. My wife has a lot of family in Minnesota and I hear the same thing about Rodgers that I heard with Favre. Although it seems the same, I think the Packers are handling it different learning on how Favre leaving was a debacle. I also believe Rodgers is doing the same type of thing. I truly believe that the Packers and Rodgers are trying to make it as amicable as possible.
  10. That is an interesting take on NIL vs. Scholarship limits. Do you believe there should be no limit to scholarships in any sport as long as the boosters can pay the players? How about smaller schools that don't have the financial backing of a school like Wisconsin?
  11. When I attended the Minnesota game, I saw what would become a staple to this year's team -- have a lead relatively late, or be very competitive. Then, find a way to lose. In that game, Wisconsin blew a 12 or 15 point lead to almost lose. OT loss to Michigan; OT loss to Nebraska. Wash, rinse, repeat. There are teams that find ways to win, but I think Wisconsin finds ways to lose. Often times I hear, "<insert name here> went off and had a huge game." That is an excuse. I agree -- the Badgers don't have that go to guy like Johnny Davis last year. They need a guy who can drive to the hoop and draw contact. I'm guessing Chuckie was supposed to be that guy this year. Maybe it was Wahl. Oh well. Unless they make it to the B1G final, they will be in the "Not In Tournament".
  12. If somebody were to hack into your Wi-Fi network, it is entirely possible they could get the same type of code that would automatically rejoin like your lights, etc. with Google Home. Although it is a PITA, it is best practice for the safety of your home.
  13. I thought all rich owners were out to only make money.
  14. I know I would be. 😂
  15. But isn't it nice when they cash out and they win championships? I have always wondered: is it a requirement for an owner to be in the red every year to be considered a good owner? Lasry came in, paid some cash, helped turn the team into a contender (with the help of Giannis and Horst, of course), and is leaving the franchise better than he found it. I'm lucky to be along for the ride as a fan.
  16. It is done ☹️. Time for Haslem to mismanage another franchise.
  17. We were there a few years ago during the summer during Covid. My son's academy team had a tournament there. It would be nice to go there now that things are opened up. It didn't seem too bad.
  18. In all seriousness, what story do either of these guys tell the parents of these kids to get them to be on their team? Especially Fran. I would not want any of them coaching my son.
  19. I would have laughed hard if you would have put that in blue... 😂
  20. Back to the topic at hand... 😀 I see CBS has Wisconsin first of the "First four out" while ESPN has Wisconsin last of the "Last four in". That is about as "on the bubble" as you can get. I'm thinking they will split the last four games. vs. Iowa (W) @ Michigan (L) vs. Purdon't (L) @ Minnesota (W) They would need a win or two, but I don't know if the two losses above pull them down. If they beat Purdon't, then that would help for sure.
  21. BM is still going strong on Twitter. Gets some B'Ville posters up in arms. https://twitter.com/THEbadgermaniac
  22. "Gotta sell those papers!" I think that is what frustrates Rodgers more than anything. He plays the media game and then we get frustrated with Rodgers because he is putting out misinformation. Is there narcissism in his blood? Sure, but I think many pile it on. Rodgers sells papers and also sells tickets. One other thing that frustrates me with today's journalism is how items aren't proofread. We see things on crawlers that are not even close to the correct spelling. Sigh... James Hoyt would not be happy.
  23. As much as the people at B'Ville don't want to admit it, it is an offshoot of the old "Badgermaniac" site. One of the prominent members of that site got frustrated with certain things and started the B'Ville site. I joined the Badgermaniac site wayyyyyy back around the time when Barry Alvarez was thinking about going to Miami. I agree with Jim 100% that it is very, very toxic. If you post something that might have been said before, you are thrown under the bus. If you try to defend a position, you are met with 10 counterpoints. However, as Jim said, it is a good place to find out insider information. Although, it was amusing how defensive the "insiders" on the site became when Fickell was named head coach. Jeff Potrykus posts on the site and even he was thrown under the bus because even his sources were bamboozled. Just like many other online communities, people live their lives on the board and are very passionate about things. That is one thing that I appreciate bout the BrewerFanatic community -- people bring up counter points, but it isn't in the style of, "You stupid m***** f*****!" To the mods -- keep up the great work!
  24. Sigh -- my 25+ year old Altec Lansing ADA-305 computer speakers bowed out this week. Sigh... So, I replaced them with... Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX!!!!! Hopefully, they last 25 years, too. Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Purdue loses three of the past four games. Maybe there is something to the strength of the B1G?
