  1. Box score says he had two. Did they come early?Yes, both in fairly rapid succession in the first half; so Josh sat for a chunk of that half.
  2. Well, you know, it was one of those good STL pitchers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  3. Duje Dukan appears to have a little fan club in the student section already. I suppose it's not fair to judge on just a "mug shot," but he looks like he has, or needs, a closet full of polo shirts with popped collars: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/wis/sports/m-baskbl/auto_headshot/5579418.jpeg And for those of you following from afar, Mike Bruesewitz grew his crew cut out: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs996.snc4/76978_1665352839393_1404434242_1683652_5044689_n.jpg It reminds me a bit of Zach Morley from a few years back, except it's groomed.
  4. Thanks, bjkrautk. I'd thought about starting this just yesterday and didn't get around to it. I'm headed to the epic UW-UND matchup shortly. I'll be sure to throw in a "Racist Mascot!" chant for the faithful here at Brewerfan.
  5. I checked out the sports segment of two of Madison's 6:00 news broadcasts tonight. Nothing but football. No mention of the new Brewers coaches. I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but consarn it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  6. Aww. Well, if you're reading here, Nate, get well soon.
  7. Statements like this, along with Invader3K taking the credit for making the Wikipedia update, are part of the reason why I love this community. But really, if Doug made Wikipedia updates, he'd need an "and that" auto-editor.
  8. PM me your cell number and I'll check out the selection at the 2010 clubhouse sale (dates TBA) and let you know if an '08 Iorg jersey is there. I'm sure we can negotiate a finder's fee. (Pretend that's all in like half-blue)
  9. I'm semi-expecting it to be December 3-4, as that would fit the pattern of recent years. They don't usually announce it very far in advance. We have to email our ticket rep this week anyway, so when we do I'll ask. In the past he's been cool about sending me a heads-up. Also, thanks for reminding me that I was going to clear December 3 as a day off. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit: Once I have confirmed dates for 2010, I'll start a 2010 sale thread.
  10. And I'd hope they don't rip the #23 right off Rickie's jersey immediately. It's hard for me to imagine Steinbrenner not getting in as a so-recently-posthumous gesture.
  11. How close is "relatively close," Patrick? We live in the neighborhood west of the stadium, so depending on what radius is acceptable for you, I might be able to help you out. (However, we never "park" for stadium events because we can walk from our house.) That game's at 4:00 Friday? because at least the K-12 schools in the area would be out by then and you shouldn't be competing for spots with Edgewood and West High vehicles.
  12. North Dakota comes for men's basketball Tuesday and we are scheduled to sit near their bench and traveling fan section - so I'll get a chance to hear it then, I guess. It seems about as classy as the Braves' tomahawk chop, which for me is "not very."
  13. Oh, now, you never know who'll be acquired. Doesn't the statistics universe have an ECI (Eye Candy Index)? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Roenicke carrying out his due diligence to explore other options...yet.
  15. I think this is great news. Now JimH5 still has a shot at borrowing that pressure washer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. Dave Niehaus, longtime Mariners broadcaster, died of a heart attack Wednesday night. Makes it hard not to think of the bullets Uecker has dodged so far just this past year. /lunging to knock on wood/
  17. To me, Rags sounds like the name of a lovable shaggy mutt, not of a human managing my Brewers. Maybe I'm thinking of this Rags. Nickname aside, though, I share your genuine excitement over this hire.
  18. My apologies for duplication if this was linked earlier in the thread...but I don't know if I can call him "Rags." Brian Anderson on "Rags" Roenicke Also, here is a Brew Beat update on the coaching staff, though it doesn't drop specific names, besides stating that Rick Peterson is not out of the running for pitching coach.
  19. It's not winter yet, but Wisconsin Winter Awareness Week is November 8-12. It could be worse. Last year's winter weather thread was started almost a full month earlier than this one!
  20. Maybe seeing his #10 handed to Ron Roenicke was the last straw.
  21. Anyone in the mood for...ice cream? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Thanks to the bumping of this thread, I've had Sunglasses at Night on my mind. You've got it made with the guy in shades!
  23. Actually, Roenicke (born 8/19/1956) is exactly one year younger than Yost (8/19/1955).
  24. How soon you forget Luis Cruz, trwi7. I see his jersey is not buttoned. Maybe he'll take the Brewers beyond untucking. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Edit: He says we're gonna grind! That's almost like gritty or battling!
  25. Ron really does have a Counsell-esque look about him. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
