  1. Yeah. The early silver lining I've identified is that we won't have to wait until the season begins to obtain one, just to save $ (since the vouchers could only be redeemed at field level Guest Relations). By March I'm usually antsy, so I guess in 2011 I can just go buy one as soon as they are available. And maybe after the new scoreboard excitement wears off, or the Brewers discover there's not that much interest in a complementary scoreboard message, they'll get more sensible again and return to offering a media guide. bensheeps, maybe your party and the hawing party can coordinate on an upgrade date in 2011. Then I can get on the sweet, sweet new videoboard, because your family is always on it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Edit: You know, now that I reread a different part of the packet, it looks like partial season ticket customers may still be eligible for the individual game ticket presale. Maybe full season people simply get more of a discount. Time will tell.
  2. Nuts. Yes, I did. Casey, Ryan and Corey are on the front cover. I can mind my Ps and Qs but obviously got my Rs mixed up. There are four "moment" photos on the inside of the packet: 6/8 Casey's 2-out 2 RBI single beats the Cubs 7/9 Ryan comes through in extra innings with the game winning RBI 7/11 Corey sends the Crew into the break with a walk-off blast 9/7 Trevor becomes the first pitcher to record 600 career saves Rickie appears in the photo celebrating Corey's 7/11 walkoff dinger. And just to parse this too far, Jonathan Lucroy (as well as Prince) is shown celebrating Trevor's milestone save. A few players appear in the 6/8 photo but I can't tell who they are. Honestly, I thought there would be more interest in the season ticket perks and details, than in who is pictured on the packet. It certainly is the off-season. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Oh, indeed. Sorry to overlook you, John...but they did put you on the "payment plan" flyer.
  4. BSC, I can help with one of the issues you're seeking. I've sent you a PM about it. Apparently no one went to that late-2008 series at which no. 24 was distributed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  5. I know it's not over - and we have seen a 5-0 lead overcome in this very series - but oy, Rangers!
  6. In today's mail we received our 2011 season ticket renewal packet - nice timing for me since I have the day off and time to peruse. The early renewal date is November 19 and the early renewal incentives have changed a bit - in addition to receiving the "existing season seat holder" ticket price. Full-season customers - your choice of batting practice at Miller Park or $70 in food/beverage per seat held on your account. Half-season, 20-game and Terrace Ticket Treat customers - your choice of four ticket upgrade vouchers per seat held on your account, or 10 single-game NYCE Stadium Club passes per seat held on your account. (Perhaps this means the "Club" isn't changing sponsors for 2011.) The "additional perks" include some changes for each category too. Full-season customers receive: Voucher for two complimentary Field Diamond Box tickets to a Brewers home game Voucher for four complimentary tickets to the 2011 Timber Rattlers game at Miller Park Opportunity to purchase additional game ticktes at the existing SSH rate through a special pre-sale Voucher for two complimentary Brewers On Deck tickets for 1/30/2011 Entry into a drawing for the opportunity to throw out a first pitch at a 2011 home game Entry into a drawing to win a suite for a 2011 Brewers home game The perks for half-season, 20-game and terrace ticket treat customers: Voucher for two complimentary tickets to the 2011 Timber Rattlers game at Miller Park Entry into a drawing to win a suite for a 2011 Brewers home game Other benefits, which appear to apply to both full-season and 20-game-and-up customers: A special rate for individual game suite rentals An opportunity to purchase one of seven 4-packs to the Gehl Club Complimentary scoreboard message So - upon first reading, this appears to limit the additional game tickets pre-sale to full-season customers, and ends the complimentary media guide for all season ticket customers. Those are mild disappointments for me, especially the media guide which I consult all the time and keep forever (vs. a one-time scoreboard message? really?). I think the main reason we'd renew early would be for the discounted ticket prices. The Club has never been a large incentive for me, so we would probably opt for the upgrade vouchers. Still, it's kind of a pick-me-up to receive mail from the Brewers. For those of you curious (and still reading), the cover of the SSH renewal packet features Casey, Ryan and Corey, the 100+ RBI trio. Trevor gets mentioned inside for the wonderful memory he provided on September 7, and other than his appearance in a Trevor Hoffman celebration photo, there is no sign of Prince. The only other pitcher that appears in the packet is Yo.
  7. I'll admit, for me it's partly that it's the Yankees that are down 3-1 (for now), but I usually find it interesting to see a new team in the postseason mix. Unlike most of FOX's perceived audience, I would be more likely to watch a 2010 World Series with the Rangers in it than the Yankees. If NYY does come back, I'll be happy for you, Principessa21. Also, if they do, it'll further support the "way too uneven playing field" belief many of us have about MLB. This would be the darker side of Texas advancing (if they do): Bud and whoever would be able to say, "See? No Yankees. And you thought the playing field was uneven." (and he'll stick to that even after NYY signs Cliff Lee)
  8. With all due respect to principessa...finish the job, Rangers.
  9. Good reason for consecutive posts: Uecker undergoes successful surgery http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Here is a list of extra Gameday program issues I have. If I can help you fill in a gap or if you want extras for trading, send me a PM. Due to storage space issues, I will probably recycle or otherwise deaccession whatever doesn't move this fall. 2007 issues no. 2 (Juan Nieves on cover) no. 3 (Bill Hall) no. 6 (Ted Simmons, as player) no. 7 (Davey Nelson) no. 8 (Johnny Estrada) no. 9 (Claudio Vargas) no. 10 (Harvey Kuenn) no. 17 (Paul Molitor) no. 19 (Gorman Thomas) no. 26 (Thank You Fans) 2008 issues no. 4 (Dan Larrea, Director of Team Travel) no. 5 (Jason Kendall) no. 6 (Prince Fielder) no. 9 (George Brett and Robin Yount) no. 16 (Bud Selig) no. 17 (CC Sabathia) no. 19 (J.J. Hardy) no. 21 (Ben Sheets as Olympian) no. 23 (Juan Nieves) no. 25 (3 Million Fans) 2009 issues no. 9 (Braden Looper) no. 11 (Mark DiFelice) no. 17 (Mike Cameron) no. 19 (Timber Rattler Jim Henderson) no. 26 (3 Cheers to Brewers Fans) 2010 issues no. 1 (Randy Wolf) no. 2 (Jonathan Lucroy) no. 4 (Vote Brewers / Ryan Braun on cover) no. 5 (Carlos Gomez) no. 6 (Celebrating the 1970s) no. 7 (Gregg Zaun) no. 10 (Zach Braddock) no. 13 (Dylan Covey, sigh) no. 14 (Jim Edmonds, sadly not identified as Diego) no. 22 (Celebrating the 2000s) no. 24 (Farm Aid) no. 26 (Thank You Brewers Fans) I also have two issues of Inside Pitch, the Nationals' free program, from the Brewers' trip there in April 2010. Jim Riggleman is on the cover, which I'm sure is a huge draw; Nats baseball cards for Adam Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman; and a rather uncomplimentary writeup of the Brewers in the series preview (at least compared to the writeups for the Rockies and Dodgers). Officially these are each volume 3, issue 2 of the Inside Pitch.
  11. Our "My Brewers Tickets" online account has 2011 information in it. That brought a smile to my face despite the season being 5.5 months away.
  12. Honestly, whenever the Brewers need a permanent replacement for Bob - even if only for road games - I will be surprised if Davey gets the call. There's probably no need to rehash why, especially in a thread about Uecker. Go Drs Nicolosi and Kleczka! Don't lose focus.
  13. Don't get me started on that. We've been family section customers about as long as Patrick425. We could practically be considered family section all-stars, yet have never been family of the game, only shown in the background while other fans were hoisting the novelty-sized gift card. If anyone wants to lend us a child for part of a Friday or Saturday night game, I'll split the gift card proceeds with you. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. Here's a first draft. I currently envision it going at the end of the "What kind of discussion is not allowed?" section of the FFE (as well as in an Issues post of its own): I did not add the "cite your Internet quotes with a link" bit here because I don't think it has quite the same potential for legal fallout as the other examples. If enough others disagree, it can easily be included. Otherwise, I think I would relocate it to just ahead of this proposed "rights" section.
  15. Existing FFE language as of 10/19/2010: Add to the above language that addresses streaming websites, and I think we could have a special section of "discussion not allowed" that is all "rights" related. crewcrazy's thoughts on the channelsurfing.net thread, which as of 9/2010 was our most recent SC discussion of "rights-related" posts: So I'll see what I can whip up. I'm reluctant to cite much in the way of specific examples (such as websites) because of how quickly technology changes.
  16. I didn't know it was legal for anyone to shut out the Yankees in Yankee Stadium, especially in the postseason.
  17. Brewers' press release, announcing their 2010 season award winners as voted on by Milwaukee BBWAA members. Team MVP: Casey McGehee (edging out Weeks and Hart) Team MV Pitcher: Yovani Gallardo (Axford second) Top Newcomer: John Axford (Cain second) Unsung Hero: Kameron Loe (Lucroy second) Good Guy: Trevor Hoffman
  18. Over about the last 24 hours, only a few of my posting attempts (on brewerfan, lambeauleap and buckyville) have succeeded. After a small sample of testing, it appears that my posts appear if I do not preview them, but not if I do preview. Is this my imagination?
  19. This post is actually my third attempt to reply in this thread. The first and second reply attempts were accompanied by one and two previews, respectively. I won't preview this one, and by now won't be surprised if it works - which would suggest something's up with the Preview.
  20. My posts are only being accepted maybe 1/3 of the time over the last 24 hours. I think previewing might be a culprit. I'm posting this without previewing. Let's see if this post takes.
  21. I'll take a smaller GameDay crowd and a win, ahead of a huge GameDay crowd and a loss. Edit: If a near duplicate of this post appears later, it's Yuku shenanigans.
  22. Oh, yeah. I never knew, before following that Wikipedia link I just posted, that Sweetest Day is observed mainly in the Great Lakes states. You'd think Hallmark would have spread it to the whole country. And consarn it, this means another Bosses (or Boss's) Day has passed with no recognition from my student employees. Tear.
  23. I'd be interested to know how long ago they reached that point.
  24. Wah waaah, CC: 93 pitches to get through 4 IP with 5 ER. Makes me feel better about the uncommonly deep and dark hole the UW volleyball team has dug itself into.
