  1. The forecast for Sunday currently includes a chance of freezing rain, which means the S.O. won't want to drive to Milwaukee for Brewers On Deck. I'm OK with not landing in a ditch, but had really been looking forward to seeing Brewers pals and getting a Brewers fix. I need a whaaambulance.
  2. Welp, we have an opening day plus package and got the order form on Thursday to request two additional tickets for April 1. Our other 20-pack does not include opening day, so maybe that's why we got the form. Either that, or my post above was incorrect.
  3. I shall rely on you to report back to us.
  4. If your 20-pack is the Opening Day Plus package, you aren't offered additional opening day tickets anymore. I guess I can kind of see where the Brewers are coming from there.
  5. I may start using this image for all Brewers acquisitions: http://i.istockimg.com/file_thumbview_approve/6151352/2/stock-photo-6151352-missing-piece.jpg
  6. TMI? More like http://instantrimshot.com/!
  7. brewers.com press release Didn't get a chance to post this on Monday, so if you're just reading this now you've missed on a few hours' worth of the Opening Day Opportunity (as it's capitalized on the Brewers' website). Besides entering for a chance to buy up to four Opening Day tickets, entering here also gets you a chance to buy up to eight tickets for Gold/Marquee games. The press release does say "a very small number" of opening day tickets will be set aside for zachlaka and his buddies whoever lines up for the start of single-game ticket sales in late February. That date has not been announced - though based on the pattern of previous years, Saturday, February 23 would make sense.
  8. JSOnline blog link I suppose getting a second opinion is prudent (personally if not team-wise), and certainly is his right. I hope Corey didn't wait until he was at a hospital this morning to say, "you know what?..."
  9. Cool! Would you mind disclosing what you won?
  10. Remember when Corey dyed his hair black in NYC a few years back? /nods knowingly
  11. I tweaked the subject line so others might not assume (as I hoped momentarily) that this was last year's "Corey Hart off-season knee surgery" thread. Back to thinking about the opportunities created by this latest off-season knee surgery.
  12. Well, pitchleague's report is kinda depressing. It'd be nice - though probably not practical - if the Brewers could designate some prizes just for individual (not corporate) season ticket customers.
  13. That is awesome. I hope they are not shamed out of the idea.
  14. I forgot to post a few weeks ago when this was announced, but the Fan-tastic Forty daily drawing of prizes for season ticket holders (20-packs and up) is back for 2013. Full list of prizes We've already missed out on prize #1 (unless you are this guy)
  15. Well, the meme industry is insatiable. Otherwise, my only comment is what the kids say these days: I don't even.
  16. I was saying to the S.O. last night, remind me of this video when I'm grumbling about McCutchen or the Pirates at MP this season.
  17. This is really sweet. Had MLBAM been around in the late 70s/early 80s, and had I been able to meet, say, Gorman Thomas at that time, I might have reacted just about the same way. Young Pirates fan might be more excited about meeting Andrew McCutchen than anyone else has been about anything ever I love how she can barely squeak out anything but "yeah" at first.
  18. I'm not sophisticated enough to know exactly what PSA 8 means (though I have a general idea), but I'd like to find out just what the seller means by "Like New."
  19. Good call, Invader. To properly fill my bf.net wonk role, I'll point out that March 2013 has five Saturdays: the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. Just saying, nearly any venue worth its salt will be chock full of St. Patrick's Day crazy on the 16th (as we learned that one year at Kelly's Bleachers). There is a 1:10 exhibition game at MP on the 30th, which might bring in some out of towners already. The SO and I are hosting a hawing family outing to that game, so I would have to figure out how to send them back to south central/southeast Wisconsin on their own, but that's not impossible. That's Easter weekend, which might be enough to put the kibosh on that date anyway. I'm anything but expert in Milwaukee-area venues, but someplace where we can get our own space, or even a corner, would aid in conversation. Fourth Base in 2010 had a back room that we took over, though my memory is that their food was pretty pricey. We were treated so well by recte44 at Madison's AJ Bombers last year that anything else might be a letdown. This board is chock full of Milwaukee area types. Give us your venue suggestions!
  20. Really? I know it's a signing that may never go anywhere important for the Brewers, but I remember thinking that about Nyjer Morgan in March 2011. 'Burke Heinrich Badenhop' is a remarkable piece of language.
  21. If I get in Burke Badenhop's line, I want him to include his middle name in his autograph.
  22. The least they could do is give him jersey no. 21, so the Escobar gear in Brewers fans' closet and in Goodwill stores throughout southeast Wisconsin could get a bit of extra life. Edit: And, as thablingster pointed out on the twitters, the Brewers could bring back that sweet, sweet "ESSSS-cobar" sound clip.
  23. You don't think Pirate Nation would be motivated to beat Ryan Braun at something? Finally?
  24. There isn't an SI-esque "cover curse" for MLB The Show, is there? I don't want to vote and then doom Ryan.
