  1. Assuming you live in an area that can pick up over the air channels easily. Good point. I am able to get them easily and hadn't considered otherwise.
  2. It does go out with the weather. Meaning no tornado warnings lots of times. If the satellite feed goes out, you can simply turn off the receiver and watch your local channels during nasty weather.
  3. *Bump* Brace yourselves, Madison. Erin's coming to Pooley's Bar in August for ESPN 1070's listener appreciation party. www.espn1070.com/pages/erinandrews.html Better call the fire marshall, that place is gonna be packed.
  4. I've had it for 3 years now, no complaints. You will have the occasional service loss due to heavy rains, but it doesn't last long and is not a reason to go cable. Check out their website for a list of current promos: www.directv.com/DTVAPP/gl...-PAM100CBO When I ordered, I did it completely online and just selected a time slot for installation. The guy called me an hour before my slot and was here in five minutes.
  5. For those of you in the weather radio market, I see Woot has a deal tonight (but I have no clue how good this radio is...) for under $20 including shipping. http://www.woot.com/Images/Sale/WeatherX_Dynamo_Flashlight-2fRadio_w-2f_NOAA_Weather_BandW7Z-standard.jpg http://www.woot.com/Default.aspx
  6. When I used to pitch in college, I swore by Icy Hot when I pitched. Between innings I would get the Icy Hot roll-on and rub it all over my elbow. As soon as I pulled my sleeve back over it, that sucker would be on fire and the pain was gone. **I know I had something going on with my elbow, but I was a gamer and pitched through it. I was not going to be drafted, so I toughed it out so I could play while in college.
  7. I've got two of these diamond box seats mounted together: http://hometown.aol.com/r1ch1ea/images/padded%20county%20stadium%20%202-29-04.jpg According to the website I took the picture from, the guy is selling those for $499 each.
  8. I've always really liked Phillies fans but hated Eagles fans...strange, eh? So you hate me? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. Just a blurb I found online...... Though Barker joked that "all of television is going to end" when he retires, "The Price Is Right" will continue in the fall with a new host, who has yet to be named. Among those reportedly in the running are Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley. J. Peterman? They could just have him describe the products.
  10. It felt like the Senators were coming back until Phillips pulled a Steve Smith and basically put it in his own net.
  11. You live in "The Only Waunakee in the World"? That always cracks me up when I hear that, as I'm guessing there are lots of cities that don't share a name with another. For my business, it could be a nightclub, called "Wauna-Dance?" You could have a key making shop called "Wauna-Key".
  12. Vargas (like Bush) should be pulled at the 85 pitch mark, period, because that's when it seems to always start falling apart.
  13. You also should see some better ball as the season progresses. Most of the teams only have one or two practices together before the season starts, so they haven't had time to work with each other. Not to mention the transition to using wood bats. These guys had just been swinging aluminum for the past 6 months. Also, Ian Kinsler played in Madison? I did not know that. Nice list, JJ.
  14. College for free sounds good to me.
  15. I'm not really interested in women's softball right now, but I've got a 5-year old who can mash, so I might be interested in a few years.
  16. I guess then I have a question. How does one man get to another mans tongue? because that means you're pretty much kissing the other dude to get to his tongue. That's what I was wondering as well. You've got be right in his grill to begin with and if you think about it, the tongue doesn't really leave the mouth to talk. He'd almost have to grab the tongue and bite it or maybe the other dude was knocked out/sleeping? Weird.
  17. I just got an Oregon Scientific weather radio and I can't get decent reception in my house. Lots of static when it's on the proper channel. Think I should try new batteries? I really haven't gotten around to exploring the radio and all of it's features because of the static and it's beginning to annoy me. I have programmed in the proper channel, so that's not the problem. When I used the outlet instead of batteries, I got less static and actually heard the NWS report. I wonder if that had more to do with location or electricity instead of the pre-packed AAs. Does Kohl's still have their sale going on them?? What did they have? Here's what I have: http://www2.oregonscientific.com/assets/product/photos/WR103NX_rg.jpg
  18. I know the timeframe for last night's nasty weather has passed, but let me tell you, I was awakened by a massive thunder boom this morning around 6 AM which was followed by two more in about 5 minutes. I can sleep through just about anything and that boom woke me straight up. Sucks, because it also woke up my daughter who refused to go back to sleep.
  19. I live on the west side of Madison and right now is the first rain I've had all day. I've heard thunder in the distance all afternoon (Shorewood Hills area, I think), and now finally it's gently raining. There have been waves of blue sky alternating with gray all afternoon into the early evening. Luckily, I just pulled all of the food off the grill about 10 minutes before the rain began.
  20. Pujols just crushed one in the 10th. 8-5 Cards.
  21. Now tornado warning in Grant County (near the Iowa border) also. It's probably gonna be one of those nights where watches and warnings are issued off and on for a while.
  22. These runners LOB are gonna come back and haunt us today.
  23. The Grenade was classic. That whole routine was major league quality.
  24. It was already mentioned in the Cubs/Pinella/Meltdown thread, but I'll leave this one open for now. See, I knew it had to be somewhere around here. It was too good not to post. Sorry, I didn't read much of that Cubs thread.
  25. Just saw this link elsewhere. From a game yesterday, I believe. Link to game story: oursportscentral.com/serv...id=3480075
