    We now have an explanation for why Leuer may have played so poorly: he fractured his wrist in the 1st half of the game. He's undergoing surgery Tuesday and no timetable is set for his return. Link

    Those little bundles of joy are poop machines. I couldn't believe how often I had to buy diapers and they're not cheap, so I was happy to have as many as possible. One time, Toys R Us had a closeout sale on warehouse-club size boxes of diapers, so I bought 3 boxes. It seemed like a lot, but I swear I was buying diapers again only weeks later.

    Diapers (some parents may have a preference though), wipes, onesies.... You could always do a gift card for Target, then they can pick out whatever they need.

    Has everyone been snapping up the throwbacks? I had totally forgotten about them until I saw a damaged 12-pack of the Pepsi yesterday. Love that old logo. For the Dew crazies, we're blowing out 12 packs of the Dew Game Fuel (purple) for $1.

    Hawing, did you ask the city to respond to your request? After the big snow, I filled out the self-report (regarding our street's lack of plowing) form which provides the option to be contacted once your complaint is addressed....I'm still waiting for that reply. I even filled in all of the contact info because that way (to paraphrase) "we can take the request seriously." As far as this snow goes, I've heard 2-4 in Madison.

    The Badgers will be practicing outside at Elver Park today (Tues. 1/5) from Noon-1PM to get a feel for playing outside in preparation for their upcoming outdoor game.

    Despite all that Leuer does, or continues to do, he has no business going pro early. Look at guys like Tucker and Landry (and for the Marquette crew...Matthews + McNeal) ...they stayed 4 years and rarely play in the NBA. I know every case is different, but Leuer is no better than any of those guys. Just my opinion...

    Mmm, plankton! Yeah, I'm just hoping that I don't make it into any book you write some day. Odds are we've crossed paths without knowing it.Honestly, I have an idea of what you look like from photos posted on here. I don't think I've ever seen you or I would yell out something like "Cheesemakers suck!" If I ever saw who I thought was you, I may drop a Sharpie or "whoa solved" or Branyan reference. Innocent enough as I always carry at least 2 sharpie markers in my pocket at all times. Maybe my secret word for you will be "Ginter". Keep your ears open....

    Hawing, I've been saying for quite a while now that I could write numerous books about the things I see and the people I interact with every day. And then there are the shoplifters.... There are probably 10 customers I can count on being in that store every single day, just like clockwork. Most of them have nicknames. I think some people's days are so dull that the daily trip to buy something is the highlight...especially the markdown cart hunters. Nothing beats a dented, unlabeled can for a quarter. Never know what you'll find today, and tomorrow, for that matter. *Makes dice rolling gesture*...C'mon Spaghettios! Customers perplex me beyond belief. Don't get me wrong, my daily interactions have also led me to meet many wonderful people. You just never know what each day will bring.

    My friend brought me back a cigar from his recent trip to Honduras and now I can't remember the brand name. I smoked it late one night while shoveling after the plow came through and extinguished it in my snow bank. Hopefully, I'll come across the stub when the snow pile goes down so I can check the band and get the name. I really took my time with the snow that night--even did the neighbor's pile. Maybe I can bribe them to buy me some cigars and I'll do their driveway all winter....

    Are the Stadium posters the ones fans "earned" by swiping their fan cards at kiosks in the later days of County Stadium? I'm trying to remember what the highest point prize was and I seem to think it may be that poster. Anyone remember?

    The Nationals are in the playoffs now, I guess. Any team Marquis has ever played on made the playoffs. Congrats Nats! (Obvious sarcasm, just not blue.)
