  1. Its almost certainly legal in the sense that you won't get arrested for using it. However my guess is that its all pirated music and could be shut down at anytime and you could get a C&D letter for any songs purchased.
  2. A tax is a soft cap. That is how the NBA runs their cap. And there is evidence that the tax has curtailed the Red Sox a bit. But you aren't going to get a $115m cap of any type. You are going to get a cap like you have right now, one that basically affects the Yankees and maybe the Red Sox. A cap does nothing without revenue sharing of local TV revenue.
  3. Because a salary cap doesn't do anything. MLB right now has a soft salary cap, that's what the luxury tax is.
  4. If healthy the Brewers don't have the prospects to get him. If not healthy he isn't worth it to the Brewers to take on his salary. And that is basically why Cleveland won't trade him until the deadline at least. If he proves he's healthy for 1/2 a season his value skyrockets. And even then it might make sense for Cleveland to wait since his option becomes a player option and if playing well he'll opt out. But if Cleveland waits until after they pick up the option he has a full year to trade.
  5. He's almost impossible to judge. Is he healthy? Is he healthy and well enough to perform? Does he just return to where he was in 2009? Does cleveland hold on to him incase he is healthy and trade him at deadline?
  6. Keep in mind that PECOTA also has Braun as the #2 player in baseball behind Pujols
  7. Until you dive into PECOTA's playing time system you have no clue. Hell they could have Marcum pitching like 70 innings. That is teh biggest problem with PECOTA right now, they don't haev the people willign to go in and check playing time results for sensible numbers.
  8. That's terrible news. No, not the Weeks stuff. The fact that Witrado is still around.
  9. New Orleans can't support a team. Baseball isn't going to want to move into a market smaller than say Pittsburgh. A link to metro sizes: http://en.wikipedia.org/w...census_statistical_areas New York/New Jersey could easily support a 3rd if not a 4th team. The LA area might take a 3rd team. Maybe a second team in Dallas. But when you start reaching KC city size you have issues, and that's where Portland and San Antonio are (Las Vegas is a special case).
  10. That's because the population in the East is incredibly dense. None of your cities listed could support a team as easily as a third team in the New York/NewJersey area. The only city you listed that may have a shot is Portland (of course the A's likely will end up in San Jose given enough time).
  11. Based on what? Fangraphs project Weeks at about 4.5 wins and Hamilton at 5.2.
  12. In a hard to imagine move, Jerry Sloan is set to leave the Jazz. Apparently he isn't getting along with Deron Williams and so he's leaving: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6109031
  13. Except the $12m per year isn't that much. That is close the going rate for an average FA starter this year ($5.5m/win). Now 2B get paid less for some weird reason, but to hold out to get even a bigger 2B discount doesn't make sense.
  14. Tulo is getting $20m per starting in 2015 and he was already under contract until 2014 when he signed the deal. If Reyes plays like he did last year he'll ask for $15m, of he plays like he did before 2009 he'll ask for much more.
  15. Actually I think he'll ask for abut $18m per if he returns to his 2006-2008 form. He's going to want Tulo money.
  16. I still don't get the rush to extend him. A guy with a large injury history, who doesn't throw hard, who will be in his 30s and who's best season was at the #2 level isn't the kind of guy you necessarily want to lock up. Now sure there are dollar amounts that make sense, but I don't get why everyone thinks he's a huge priority.
  17. ERA+ is a bad measure across eras. Why? Because it will harm pitchers who pitched in low ERA settings. If the league average is 3.00 say, its much harder to be 25% better than if the league average is 4.00 because you have a hard limit of 0 and a realistic limit of say1.00.
  18. Take a look at the all minor league contract team. http://www.fangraphs.com/...or-league-contract-team/ Kotsay's Marcel wOBA is .304
  19. From everything said he wants AW to be his next Steven A Smith.
  20. He's not really close. Another good year and maybe, but only his Yankee ties will give him areal chance.
  21. That's the biggest thing, he is backing up 1B. And he can't hit.
  22. It hired Gary Howard. They think he's the one that makes Packer Plus so profitable, not the fact the Packer fans are so rabid they'll pay to subscribe so they can get website content. He's bringing his guy with him.
  23. If she is really worried about it it might just be worth it to pick up another phone from Cricket or similar for a few months.
  24. So we can't spend $50m on Weeks over 5 years but $48m on Young for 3 is fine? And Young is a 3B at this point, he hasn't played 2B in like 7 years.
