  1. Yes but they are part of the Gov Rod scandal, in fact they are the main part of it dealing with the Trib
  2. And its not like Kendall is suddenly going to give up playing 130 games.
  3. Of course this was all before the Tribune went bankrupt and they got caught up in the Governor Rod scandal
  4. There isn't much room to improve on Hardy defensively, he;s almost at the top. And offensively Escobar would be much worse. Blanco had a sub 700 OPS last season. He is a 5th OFer.
  5. Because it makes no sens unless Moore is in love with Francouer. And it would cement his place as a terrible GM.
  6. I see no way Bradley can play OF. 1B, yeah that could happen but OF is really strange.
  7. Peavy won't waive his no trade for Milwaukee
  8. Yes. Its fairly easy to see that a opt out is lose-lose for the Brewers. If Sabathia is worth more than his remaining contract he opts out meaning the Brewers lose because they could have traded Sabathia and now can't. If he is worth less that the remaining contract he stays with the Brewers with the Brewers overpaying for him.
  9. Advanced metrics haven't been kind to JJ... I'm on record as to how I feel they lack value, but I haven't seen any national publications rave about JJ's defense as a pro. In the minors certainly, but in the majors not so much, and I especially haven't seen anything since the horrible injury. If Sheets and Sabathia both walk then I believe that Hardy or Fielder should be moved for pitching. Escobar is an excellent prospect, under appreciated by those that prefer pure stats over scouting, and will be an above average SS for a long time. Advanced metrics have JJ as behind only Rollins in the NL for full time players. How about instead of making the major league team 4 wins worse Escobar gets traded before a poor AAA season lowers his value?
  10. Making the Brewers worse at SS and CF at the same time is a bad thing.
  11. Yep. Dunn was average, Ibanez was Burrell like in left.
  12. He can get a one year deal at $10-12m anytime, taking arby means no chance at a multiyear deal
  13. If Penny was able to pitch the Dodgers would have picked up his cheap option to trade him at least at a discount instead of paying the large buyout. Meaning the Dodgers think he wouldn't pass a physical to be traded.
  14. Penny makes no sense. Garland and Perez make little sense.
  15. If the Yankees won't include Kennedy I see no way the teams will match up
  16. Might have if San Diego wasn't focused on reducing their payroll to $20m and the Dodgers weren't focused on dealing out huge amounts to everybody.
  17. Everyone in Hunstville had ridiculously high BABIP (Escobar .375, Gamel .392, Salome .401) LaPorta was the only one with a normal BABIP of .301. Of course Gamel and Salome have power and some modicum of plate discipline while Escobar has neither.
  18. Its like USS Mariner posters are here determining Hardy's value. No Hardy for Jose Lopez is not going to happen....
  19. Is there any reason to believe Ludwick at age 29 suddenly became a 900 OPS guy? Meaning the Cards have to make moves just to keep level.
  20. But right now it seems like 3 years can get Sheets. I'd much rather do that than 4 years of Lowe. Of course I still think if there was someway to get Millwood out of Texas that might be best.
  21. That would shrink the trade deficit. And we wonder how financial guys lead us into this mess.
  22. If it was just giving up more hits away from Dodger's Stadium, that's one thing. But his K's go down and his BB go up.
  23. Capuano isn't expected to be back until July at the earliest and its unknown if can even pitch again. Given what's going on I see no one out there doing a Wade Miller type gamble on him.
