  1. Everything I've seen it comes down to his height and his fastball. Neither grades out as ++ so he is held down due to it.
  2. BP's organizational rankings are out. baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=5870 Brewers ranked 7th.
  3. This is one of the things I'm not clear about. If Hendrickson is put on waivers and is claimed he is gone. Fine with that. I still don't understand when a player is put on waivers isn't claimed but still is property of the waiving team.
  4. Since Bush is under contract through 2010, not sure why he wouldn't be there. And Suppan plus Sheets now is more than what Sheets will make in 2010.
  5. Which is based on the fact that Jackson had one decent game when he first came up.
  6. Capuano is less likely to be in Milwaukee than is Sheets if he is the the 5th best pitcher on the team.
  7. David Bell's career line is .257/.320/.396. No he likely won't out hit Graffanino. Really if the Brewers go with another infielder with Koskie out they might as well go with Rottino.
  8. David Bell is not ok offensively.
  9. There is no clog. The Brewers can't keep all of Sheets, Bush and Capuano. Hopefully it comes down to one of Bush or Capuano to go. Vargas is short term and likely gone after this season. Suppan will likely be traded after 2008. So in the next two years there will be three openings in the rotation.
  10. Cameron is 34 so at best he is a one year fill.
  11. Pretty sure that with most option buy outs, its the same as when a team renounces the rights to a FA at the end of a season (ie what happened with David Bell)
  12. Mulder is at out until at least July last I heard. Blavasi isn't just trying to get himself fired, he's trying to make sure the next GM will be so loaded down with bad contracts, he'll get fired too.
  13. You can't get draft picks for Jenkins because of the option for next year.
  14. Houston should get him. Then he and Lee can grow old together after the Astros' one last push in 2007.
  15. Yeah then she could have been posting at BFan and not you Oh wait, pretty sure that wasn't what you meant...
  16. Ender- you forgot Barrett.
  17. Sure you could use that, but most people already use ISP or Isolated Slugging Percentage. Its just SLG-BA to take away singles. The reason why this has some more value than just XBH% is that it keep the differences between 2Bs, 3Bs and HRs intact.
  18. At 3B alone Rolen and Ramirez had better years.
  19. The thing is those stupid people are the front office of the Cubs. If you include the signing bonus apparently its $10 million over 5 years with two option years at about $3 million each. Which means he must have something in his contract forcing him to be added to the 40 man almost immediately, similar to what Weeks got.
  20. The original PC version is now free as a java game simcity.ea.com/play/simcity_classic.php
  21. Actually its fairly easy to pass up. $8 million is more than he'd make in his first 4 to 5 years in the NFL even if everything works out. Baseball guarentees more money, players tend to make more money, and the pension system is much better.
  22. Vargas will be gone in one or two seasons. Suppan likely in two unless they can't sign Sheets. Capuano will likely be gone in 3. Things will more than sort themselves out.
  23. When will BP publish the estimated std of their PECOTA projections? They have them and often referrence the probability distribution of a given player. Why not just throw up one number that gives alot of information? I'm not asking for soem esoteric 4th moment here. As to the difference between Mench and Jenkins, its probably all due to Jenkins having a higher probability of collapse due to his age.
  24. David Wright Ryan Zimmerman You know, players Braun might become perhaps one day.
  25. With Cirillo gone, Mench likely becomes the 1B backup as well. Yes Graffy could do it, but really rather not have him do it.
