  1. Morgan isn't playing likely because Roenicke thinks he will be too wild after the Carpenter confrontation. Kotsay is playing becaue he's left handed and Roenicke either doesn't value or can't evaluate defense. Kotsay was a DH in 2010 remember because he couldn't handle 1B and he's now in CF.
  2. You have to hope the manager at least tries to put good defense out there. I firmly believe DPR has no idea what a good defender looks like. He has pulled guys for defense in a few games but has never pulled KIotsay. Kotsay can't even field a ground ball in the outfield. You mean like replacing Weeks for defensive reasons but not Betancourt?
  3. That's why you start Wolf or Narveson. The Cardinals have McClellan in the pen.
  4. Ron Roenicke, always trying to think as far inside the box as possible.
  5. Rhodes is pretty much done. If only we can get another McClellan appearance today...
  6. Yeah because putting runners on in front of Holliday and Berkman could never backfire
  7. The really stupid thing is that you used one of your RHers here
  8. Casey, really? If only there were left handers on the bench
  9. How would things have changed if Lucroy took a fastball bown the middle for 3-1 instead of swinging at it? He should have known off speed 3-1, but swinging 3-0 at a fastball down the middle is fine with the pitcher up next
  10. He isn't the same pitcher. His GB/FB rate was 2.78 this year compare to around 1.4. No reason to expect a normal HR rate given such GB tendencies so no reason to look at xFIP as superior.
  11. The umps warnign the benchs
  12. His FIP was 2.76 and his K/BB was 2.80, his tERA is 2.80. His ERA is pretty representative of how he pitched.
  13. Why not burn Green or Kotsay here? you know TLR is bringing in a lefty
  14. The point is that all pitchers at 100 pitches tend to be bad. Greinke is really, really good for a good amount of pitches. But a tired pitcher is runs waiting to happen.
  15. BTW with Loe warming up before has there been any word on why Hawkins hasn't been lately?
  16. Really don't like not hitting for Greinke since that half inning lasted forever.
